This is what I noticed.

The balance of the last transaction of 8th May 2021 will the opening balance when you print from 9th May to say 8th of June

Optimally:
Hello bro, I noticed same issue when I tried printing my POF for practice sake, the deposit I made on April 30 was reflected on may 1st, so what I did was to go to the bank and ask them to print for me, because in my case, I mailed the POF to my mail, but when they printed for me at the bank, it was shown. Let's try something, mail your statement to your mail for April 7 to April 8, let's see if the closing balance for that day will reflect that a deposit was made, if it does, then you're safe according to me, because it's the closing balance for that day that will determine if that day's POF amount was satisfied
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 6:54pm On May 30, 2021
Oga lets forget this issue and move on...the koko is that you should have enough fund (maintenance fund + tuition fee balance) in the bank account for the 28 calendar days whether is Pounds to naira or Naira to Pounds. The more Naira u keep the better!!!

lookers191:
It's a simple word problem in mathematics.

I need £XYZ and I want to know how much naira that would be appropriate for me to hold.
So i input the amount of £ that is definite to get the naira equivalent.

The other way round is like trying to force yourself in the system. If that was the roght way, we probably won't need Oanda conversion.

I think the lesson so far is to ensure that we do a forensic study of our statement before submitting it.

1. Check that (Opening Balance - Total Debit) + Total Credit = Closing Balance

2. Manually check that all debits add up to the Total Debit

3. Manually check that all credits add up to the Total Credit

4. Check carefully that the balance after any credit or debit transaction doesn't impact the balance below the required amount even just for one day (Meaning if are supposed to have a minimum of N10million the balance per transaction made on the account must NEVER go below N10million even by 50kobo

5. Ensure that the statement you are submitting is very clear and readable after you scanned it.

6. Check that the naira equivalent of your maintenance fee + tuition balance is less than the opening balance and less than the closing balance (opening and the closing balance must be equal or greater than the N10million naira equivalent of the maintenance fee + tuition balance)

7. Also check your printed statement covers at least 28 calendar days = I suggest you do something like 1/May/2021 - 30/May/2021 or 30/May/2021 - 29/June/2021

8. Do NOT empty your account after visa submission. My own suggestion Oooooo

9. Ensure the exchange rate favour u well on the submission day (Oanda is your go-to place).-Although I expect you to have extra fund to buffer for any madness in Naira dancing up and down like a yoyo.

10. Finally PRAY

Please this list is not exhaustive: I am open to additions and constructive critic.

What if both bank statements are not the same periodt say you print from 17th of April to 17th of May for one statement and print 1st of May to 28th of May for the other statement will that be an issue?
Well, I wouldn't be able to answer that. I suggest we make the work easy for these ECOs...I believe you get what I'm saying!!! Let's avoid complications if we can. My friend told me their focus now is on PoF...super strict and complication like this na refusal straight. That will not be our portion IJN Amen. Let's act wisely
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 4:48pm On May 30, 2021
Yes, you can. However, you must print the same period for the two statements. So if you are printing from 1st May 2021 to 30th May 2021 you print the exact same period for the two statements (bank accounts)

Please stop stressing this, it's simple analytics.

You have been the only person getting the conversion right the whole time.

We don't have pounds, we don't have pounds, how on earth will anyone want the convert from pounds to naira.

That means you have have pounds and you want to sell it for naira.

Please unless you have excess cash in your bank account, follow scobby calculations. That's exactly how to do conversions.

@justwise I think the main moral of the back and forth is that have enough money for £=N or N=£ (add little excess to cater for rate fluctuations) for the stipulated 28 calendar days period.

No one should try to game the UKVI system.....it paints the country in a bad light!!!

If the rate shows you N12million try to mark it up to N12.5million or say N13million or more to be in the safer zone.

Thanx @justwise my padi since 2010!!!!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 1:14pm On May 30, 2021
That's the point £ = N makes you feel you have enough. while N = £ requires that u keep more N in your bank account

It's amazing u are not getting me...I actually want you to calm down I see or experiment using the platform to get what I am saying!!!

N12,000,000 = £20,317.1 (today)
but £20,317.1 = N11,799,900 (reversing the naraative)

U will notice that you will need more Naira to get the same Pounds if you place the Naira (up) in order to get £20,317.1

Try it sir

justwise:
No that was not what i meant.

What i meant was that if you do it the wrong way it will give you the impression that you have enough while in reality you don't.

So simply put £ first enter your school fees + maintenance money and you will get the naira value.

Nothing wrong with having more than required amount.

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 11:52am On May 30, 2021
So if my maintenance fee + tuition balance = £21k. and according to £=N today on Oanda I would be needing N12,196,500 and decided to keep
N14,403,400 then I would be refused for having surplus!!!! I doubt that sir!!!

justwise:
No it will give them false hope and a refusal. £=naira is the formula, You will have more money in your account by doing it the wrong way and it will likely lead to a refusal.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 11:27am On May 30, 2021
I would appreciate it if you can speak to the comparison with the refusal letter and did you take the time to look at my concern. The good news is that if people follow this method..they are even safer because it will require them to have more naira in their bank accounts. for me... it's a win-win like the saying...the more the merrier!!!

I rest my case on this matter

justwise:
Dude you are going to confuse people with this, put £ up, enter your fees + maintenance money figure it will tell you how much naira you need in your bank account to start counting 28days, simple!

Someone explained this here even better than i did but you are stilling going on about it

Good morning all. The importance of this platform is to give free and well-researched views on matters of concern to the UK student prospects.

I had to do a thorough review on the issue of Oanda and how it been used by UKVI. Please below is my observation using a sample refusal letter, this gave me an insight;

Please see the attached.

I noticed the VO used the arrangement of Naira (up) = Pounds (down) to do the conversion as stated in the refusal letter. If you try to arrange the conversion the other way round by placing the Pounds up and Naira down you will not be on the same page with the UKVI.

I am open to a debate on this matter!!!

From my own point of view, I don't see this going down well. Pls avoid using it if u can and get another TB test done asap!!!

this UKVI can just say stuff like this;

According to section XX paragraph SS I have refused to issue a visa because the submitted TB Certificate does not meet the minimum expiration date as required for travel document at the point of entry. bla bla bla!!!

trishvik1:
please help o , can Tb result be use 7 days to expire date to apply for a super priority visa? any experience abt ds biko...pls
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 6:09pm On May 29, 2021
This is my concern!!! What you have is naira...what you want to prove is in GBP

when your statement is in Naira then you are converting from Naira to the equivalent value in GBP!!!

see the images below; did u notice that the same naira did not give the same value when I switched currency sides. so for the sake of safety I beg u go for Naira to GBP

I take God beg una...na small boi I be Ooooo but I understand the confusion of this issue on conversion.

According to Oanda (29 May 2021)

N11,000,000 = £18,711.8 (Safe to use this)
but
£18,711.8 = N10,892,100

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 6:00pm On May 29, 2021
Brilliant submission...SAFETY 1st

LagosismyHome:
This been debated before and we see the embassy use both.... if you have enough money then calculate your pof based on the higher one....(which is not this one but the other way)..... That way you can't go wrong

If you don't have enough money then calculate it this way... this is actually the proper way to do conversion especially as school fees and tuition is in pounds so pounds is up and naira should be down
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 5:59pm On May 29, 2021
My brother my brother!!!

The main koko is to have buffer!!! make sure your fund is sufficient for the conversion from £ = N or N=£

I noticed one is higher than the other...for safety sake I will go with the higher one + buffer fund (protect against rate fluntuaction)

My suggestion though

Optimally:
Boss, the way me understand the thing is that the conversion should be from pounds to Naira, because, you know your maintenance money+tuition balance=£mmtb, so it's for you to input the £mmtb in pounds field and it will automatically generated what you need in Naira, this is the accurate way I know, it can't be Naira to pounds, because you don't even know what you need in naira and that's why you're on that page to input what you know you need in pounds so that they can generate for you what you need in naira. I stand to be corrected though.
N:B mm: Maintenance money
TB: Tuition balance in my above comment
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by scobyy2007: 5:14pm On May 29, 2021
It's true #FACT

(Opening Balance - Total Debit) + Total Credit = Closing Balance

See the attached sample!!!!

Optimally:
Paid out funds and closing balance is not something we should've been concern about if we believe in our banking system and their professionalism, paid out funds are the withdrawals made on the account either over the counter, ATM, cheque, transfer, etc, while closing balance is the difference between the opening balance and the paid out funds+inflow, all things being equal, the closing balance should always be the difference between the opening balance and the paid out funds+inflow, and the opening balance should also always be the sum of the paid out funds and the closing balance+inflow, if any of these is up by a naira or down by a naira, that will suggest the POF is not genuine or has been tempered with, So in this case, when the individual paid out funds after been sum up were subtracted from the opening, what was arrived at was different from what was printed as the closing balance. Yes, the maintenance money for outside London now £1,023 monthly and £9,207 for nine months I stand to be corrected though. The matter has been cleared, na Bank make mistake of not including SMS alert as paid out funds

No now!!!!

The App is very clear on its usage: THE CURRENCY YOU HAVE Vs THE CURRENCY YOU WANT

So you have Naira and want GBP (Pounds Sterling)

So if you were supposed to have N14million for the period stated above and you made the final deposit on the 1st of may (i.e you completed or made the last deposit that summed up to N14million of this day)...then you print a statement from 2/May/2021 to 1/June/2021

Well, it depends:

1. Will the husband later change his mind and join them?
2. Will the husband never visit (stay with them) them?

If 1. applies then let him do but if 2. applies then he shouldn't bother because he can always get a six-month tourist visa to visit them.

Please wait for expert opinion from people on this platform!!!

davidodaudu:
Hello Everyone,

Please, I need advise on this issue. I am currently in a dilemma.
I got admission in the UK for February, 2021 intake. I made a deposit of 4,000 pounds towards my tuition fee and started studying online while I waited for my visa. I submitted my priority visa application in feb. Unfortunately, 5days later I was denied visa. The reason for the denial was that the bank statement submitted was for 20days instead of 28days. This was an obvious error from the UKVI because the statement I submitted was for 30days, from 9/1/2021 to 9/2/2021. I emailed the school about the denial and I was advised to apply for an administrative review. Which I did on the 24th of feb. Its been 3 months since I applied for the AR and its still not out. I am done with my first semester, recently the university emailed me to pay the balance of my tuition fee (8000) or I will be reported to immigration. ( I am sure the finance dept. think I am in the UK already). My dilemma now is, payment of the balance of my tuition fee shouldn't be a problem. But I want to avoid a situation where if the AR is not approved I will not loose my money, and guarantee that the school will reissue me another CAS to reapply. Since I was not denied based on credibility but from an error from the embassy. Also the main aim of schooling in the UK is to qualify for the PGWP and for those who started study in January, 2021 I am told that we are expected to be in the UK by September. What happens if the AR delay hinders me from being in the UK before September? I also want to avoid a scenario where I will finish my study online from my home country and the embassy might not see the need to issue me visa.
So I emailed the school asking that they delay the payment until the outcome of the AR or I defer the admission and continue from 2nd semester in September ( There is a second semester batch in September for my course).
The school replied my mail telling me that I have 3 options:
1. Defer till next intake hoping that the AR would be out by then. What this means is new fess to be paid.
2. Withdraw- Stop studies and don't pay fees but the risk is that if UKVI contacts us, student no longer studying with us so automatic refusal.
3.Continue studying online and pay fees till decision is out and student can fly into the UK.
From my understanding of the mail, the university wants me to start all over again in the net intake and pay a new fee or continue studying online and take my chance with the AR. option two is not an option for me.
How do I go about this?
I would advise that you go with option 3 from the school. Furthermore, you can also get a good lawyer in the UK to help follow up. It is obvious that the school is actually focused on the money.
