berbs:The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) says at least n 140,000 international passports are uncollected nationwide. About 40,000 of the total 140,000 are in the Alausa passport office in Ikeja, Tony Akuneme, the NIS spokesperson, disclosed. He explained that the majority of the uncollected passports had wrong phone contacts and untraceable addresses. Akuneme called on applicants to process their international passports themselves using the correct details and without involving racketeers. He told NAN: "In spite of the extensive awareness embarked on by NIS on passport application and its processes, some Nigerians still patronise racketeers or consultants to process their passports, which usually does not work out well. "Some applicants are gullible, they fell into the hands of touts who duped them of their hard-earned money." Akuneme called on applicants who applied for passports before July 2022 and were unable to obtain their passports to visit the NIS website to lodge their complaints |

NIS bans unauthorized entry into passport centres, warns Immigration officersPublished on August 11, 2022 By Wale Odunsi The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has implemented appointment-based entry into passport offices across the country. The policy was announced on Wednesday at a workshop for officers and men of the Provost and Servicom Units of NIS Zone A Lagos, NAN reports. The seminar was organized by officer in-charge of the zone, Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration Olakunle Osisanya. In his remarks, the Comptroller General, Idris Jere warned officers to stop extortion and sharp practises in the processing of passports. The NIS chief was represented Modupe Anyalichi, Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of passport and other travel documents. Jere directed personnel working in passport offices to maintain a high level of discipline and professionalism in their conduct. The CG explained that the objective of the workshop was to stress the need to respect the appointment system. “Henceforth, entrance into the passport offices would be based strictly on applicant’s ability to provide evidence of appointment and collection dates”, he announced. Jere said the integrity of the appointment system would be monitored and that any officer caught extorting would face discipline. Jere further advised applicants for passports to apply ahead of time to by logging into the NIS portal. “Applicants should fill the application form, make payment, choose a date, processing centre and proceed to the centre on the chosen date with the required documents”, he said. NIS officials at the workshop included Lagos Command Comptroller Mani Bagiwa; Murtala Muhammed International Airport Comptroller Adeola Adesokan; Passport Control Officer Ikoyi, AO Bewaji; Lagos Command Passport Comptroller Udoh Robert, among others. |

Hmmm.very interesting topic.only married people can understand. It is quite different from boyfriend and girlfriend game. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a married woman to have male friend and vice versa. The important thing to note is that there must be boundaries.you don,t call a married woman at 10pm to just say hi or you want to keep in touch or before 7am likewise a man.the best is to flee from all appperances of......you may not be thinking in the sex line, but can you tell of the other party?you can never be sure of what you can do when emotions comes in.i will conclude by saying ones a man or woman is married they should set boundaries as regards old friends of the opposite sex.na from clap them dey enter dance. My humble submission. |
