“Contrary to what your macho side might think, you may not be the center of her universe after all.” Cheating. It happens. Does it happen often? Not really. Will someone cheat on you? Hopefully not. But if Robert Pattinson — this generation’s teen heartthrob — can get cheated on, then what chance do you have that your partner will remain faithful? In the 2012 Great Female Survey, over 30% of women indicated that they would be tempted to cheat if their partner could never find out (guys weren’t any more honorable — see the results here). It’s a sad fact, but there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. So, although you might be in love with your better half, there’s always a chance that she might be cheating on you. Contrary to what your macho side might think, you may not be the center of her universe after all. But you can rest easy. We’ve compiled a top 10 list of signs she’s cheating on you. While all the cheating signs that follow may not imply that she is in fact cheating on you, each is definitely a warning that something is amiss with your ladylove. Depending on the scenario, you may need to look further for more signs she’s cheating on you, do some relationship maintenance or simply break up. She detaches herself from your family The fact that she no longer wants to attend your family’s functions or hang with your friends is one of our signs she’s cheating on you. This sign may be indicative of cheater’s remorse on her part, which means that she likely feels guilty about cheating. The less she immerses herself in your circles (which contain people who are painful reminders of her sins), the less mental anguish she’ll have to endure. She nags you incessantly Gone are the days when the two of you could communicate with harmonious precision. Now, every sentiment you express sets her off and she finds any excuse to lash out at you. If such an about-face sounds familiar, she may be subconsciously trying to justify her little tryst. Nagging you helps eliminate or at least ease her nagging guilt. So if she habitually begins to point out your every flaw, you may want to get to the bottom of what’s really going on because it’s one of our signs she’s cheating on you. She has a mysterious friend A telltale sign that your woman is cheating arises when a mysterious friend inches his way into the picture. Whether it’s someone she claims is a coworker or an old friend from way back, she keeps this friendship under wraps and is hesitant to share any general details about him, much less introduce you. And it doesn’t take a Ph.D. to figure out why. She deflects simple questions You should be suspicious of your girlfriend when she refuses to answer the simplest and fairest of questions or answers questions only after repeating them back to you, which usually indicates a mind that’s searching for a lie. Be wary of times when, rather than reveal that she got home at midnight, she begrudgingly asks, “Why do you want to know what time I left the coffee shop?” If she gets defensive about disclosing information that she used to volunteer without hesitation, she may be hiding something or someone and it’s one of the surest sings she’s cheating on you. She shifts priorities away from you If she is involved in a hot and heavy romance with someone else, you’ll definitely feel a shift in her daily priorities. Suddenly, there are no more implied Sunday dates at the movies or something always comes upon dance-lesson Thursday. There is a tendency for most philanderers to schedule meetings with their new flame as often as they can, which results in a complete disregard for previous engagements. She puts more effort into looking sexy You may like her just the way she is, but that won’t stop her from trying to dazzle her new fling. Just as you tried to impress each other at the beginning of your relationship, she’ll try to impress her new flame with a sudden urge to improve her style, change her makeup and alter her physical appearance for the new man in her life. So, while her desire to look sexier is one thing, not caring about your opinion on the matter is quite another. She becomes autonomous One of the biggest signs she’s cheating on you is her breaking away from your little two-person unit to become more autonomous. She has dropped “we” from her vocabulary in favor of “I.” Moreover, she does more things on her own and stops consulting you about future plans. In short, she conducts herself in ways that hint that she no longer needs you to hold her hand. Whether she’s hoping you’ll leave her or she’s simply looking for more time to lead her “double life,” it’s safe to conclude that she wants you out of the picture — she just can’t build up the nerve to leave you. She has no interest in sex with you When your relationship was new, the two of your were full of passion and open to spontaneous lovemaking. Now it’s all a bit iffy, whereby you’re rarely hitting the sheets and you’re only doing so if and when she feels like it. On a slightly more ego-bashing note, she may suddenly become bored by your performance and appear to be thinking about someone else when you do make love. Cheating may be wrong, but you can’t deny that unlawful sex is usually more exhilarating. So, if you can no longer satisfy her sexually, someone else may be rubbing her the right way. She’s secretive about her schedule She may claim to no longer have time for any extracurricular activities with you, yet she has one foot out the door the minute one of her girlfriends calls. Either that or she has been “going away on business” one too many times. And when she does leave, her whereabouts are sketchy at best and you are somehow always the last to know. Disclosing her itinerary to you at the last minute and overlooking your plans in the process can mean many things, one of which isn’t that she’s forgetting, but rather leaving you out. You become irrelevant What could be worse than a girlfriend who nags you about absolutely everything? How about one who stops noticing that you’re even alive? Just as No. 9 on our list of signs she’s cheating on you is a possibility (she nags you incessantly), the opposite could be yet another clue of your loves cheating ways. All at once, she doesn’t care if you don’t want to go to the ballet with her; she’ll just find somebody else with whom to go. And whatever opinion you may have, be it about how she looks or how you’re feeling, is met with a tepid response. In other words, she doesn’t place the same importance on what you think and what you do as she once did, especially on things that directly affect the relationship. Keep Jealousy In Check Don’t delude yourself into thinking that your woman would never cheat and don’t rush to judgment either; if she is guilty of committing any signs on the list, perhaps it’s indicative that something is awry in the relationship. In any case, this is a great opportunity for you to address problems you may not have noticed before scanning this article. More importantly, don’t let what may just be a bad case of jealousy taint your perception of her. Reading her the wrong way or jumping to conclusions can permanently sever a relationship; get all the facts before you confront her. http://www.ynaija.com/is-she-putting-more-effort-into-looking-sexy-watch-out-top-10-signs-shes-cheating-on-you/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

The chairman, Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Kaduna State chapter, Musa Soba has claimed that the reason ACN did not emerge winner in the last presidential election was that leaders of the party sold its candidate, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for One hundred million dollars (N16 Billion) Musa in a recent release alleged that he warned leaders of the party to put their house in order rather than being insincere and deceitful. He therefore asked the head-honchos of the leading opposition party to explain why its candidate was sold out to the PDP in the South-West region in 2011 election. He said, “A rogue leadership is one that collected one hundred million dollars (N16 Billion) from the PDP, delivered the south-west to the PDP in the 2011 presidential election and shamelessly turned around to accuse the PDP of corruption and stealing of public funds.” Speaking further, the chairman said that ACN is like a one-man business, which runs without Board of Trustees, visionary leaders and a functional constitution. On the recent statement attributed to the party’s national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on the Kaduna State ACN leadership crisis, the statement said the Kaduna State ACN under Barrister Soba ‘would never yield to the abuse of party constitution and irresponsible statements by Lai Mohammed who, of recent, has become a nuisance and an errand boy for political and emotional blackmail.’ He added: “We challenge Lai Mohammed and the national secretary of the party, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, to tell the whole world why state chapters like Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa, AkwaIbom, Nassarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba and Kaduna states are all facing national leadership induced crises,” the statement said. Reacting to the threats by some top officers of the party to drag the Kaduna State government and the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM) to court, the statement further affirmed that “it is noting but emotional blackmail by the party’s secretary” http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/10/05/how-acn-leaders-sold-ribadus-presidential-ambition-pdp-n16-billion-party-chieftain/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=how-acn-leaders-sold-ribadus-presidential-ambition-pdp-n16-billion-party-chieftain |

A 39-year-old estate agent, Mr. Ibukun Oluwadamilare, caused much laughter when he told a Lagos Grade A Customary Court, sitting in Agege, that he used to wash his wife’s pants, which smell of other men’s semen. He said: “Whenever she comes back at night from an outing, I always perceive sperm odour and she always returns home with pink lips, which indicated that a man have rough handle her and also kissed her lips.” Ibukun informed the court that he got married Mrs Adesuwa Oluwadamilare in the year 2000 and the union is blessed with three children and that Adesuwa had two children from her previous marriage. He claimed that his wife packed out of his house four years ago after she gave birth to their last born, adding that Adesuwa suddenly became uncontrollable. He alleged that Adesuwa went to lodge in a hotel located somewhere in lju-lshaga. Ibukun also informed the court that his wife would have killed him with some fetish substances she robbed on her face, body and private part. However, lbukun pleaded that the court should not dissolve the marriage, because he still loves her. Earlier, 33-year-old Mrs Oluwadamilare informed the court that she mistakenly got pregnant for lbukun in 2000, and he refused to pay her bride price even after three children. Adesuwa said what really informed her decision to approach the court was to make her husband come to her village in Edo State and marry her according to the custom and tradition of their land. She claimed that lbukun always accused her of dating young men and capitalised on the situation to abuse her. She said: “There was a day he beat me at a bus top and tore my clothes to shreds. I left there stark naked.” She said her husband always monitors her movement and does not give her peace of mind. Meanwhile, the court President, Mr. Emmanuel Shokunle adjourned the case till October 22 for further hearing. http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/09/28/my-wife-always-smells-mens-semen-husband-tells-lagos-court/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=my-wife-always-smells-mens-semen-husband-tells-lagos-court |

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, urged the Federal Government to appeal against the ceding of Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon. Soyinka said this at the commemorative lecture of rights activist, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite, at 79 in Lagos on Monday. He said Bakassi remained a testing ground for Nigeria’s corporate integrity, stressing that the government should know what the people of Bakassi needed. Soyinka said, “The crucial question that the International Court does not appear to have considered remains this: what do the people of Bakassi want for themselves? To become Cameroonians? To become Nigerians? Or simply to remain Bakassians? Bakassi became a focus of interest and desire only because of her oil reserves and the greed of state corporations – presented as national interest.” “So, let the next act commence. The final date of appeal is still ahead. It is within legitimate rights that the Nigerian corporation should appeal the judgment. “This time round however, let the suppressed voice of Bakassi’s humanity be heard. There is a certain procedure known as Plebiscite. Simple, straightforward, and full of precedents – a time-tested reversal of the pattern of human deficit! Let us give voice to the people of Bakassi.” Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Akin Oyebode, described the current administration of President Goodluck Jonathan as government of the plutocrats, saying the interest of the poor is not being considered. Oyebode, a lectuer of International Law and Jurisprudence, University of Lagos, said the planned currency restructuring was self-serving. He said, “Some people will be made rich. It is a contradiction that a government pursuing cash-less economy is now pursuing a ‘cash-full’ society. “The coinage is a disaster. It is going to have a dire consequence on the masses as the prices of goods will sky-rocket.” Oyebode extolled the virtues of Braithwaite, saying he had willed himself to the Nigerian people. The don said, “Braithwaite is a dogged fighter of the masses. It is fit and proper to honour our heroes when they are alive. But what we find all over the place is the hypocrisy of people pouring eulogies on people when they are dead.” The President, Women Arise for Change Initiative, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, said the commemorative lecture was to give honour to an “indefatigable defender of the oppressed.” She said, “We celebrate Braithwaite because in doing so, we are also calling attention to his struggle, travails, triumphs, challenges and the unfinished business of a nation in agony.” Braithwaite said human beings were in this world to help others, stressing that “if you do not help others your life will be meaningless. Fela did, Mandela did, Fawehinmi did and many others”. He urged Nigerians to challenge corruption and oppression and to take their destinies in their hands. http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeria-should-appeal-against-bakassi-judgment-soyinka/ |

It is surprising to hear that Police have not yet received legal directive from the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation in respect of the investigation into the $620,000 bribery scandal involving former Chairman, House Committee on Fuel Subsidy Management probe, Farouk Lawan, and Chairman, Zenon Oil & Gas, Femi Otedola. Also, contrary to a report that the duo of Lawan and Boniface Emenalo were interrogated by the STF on Wednesday, a police source said no such thing happened. A source in the Special Task Force that investigated the bribery scandal disclosed that the STF had not got any report from the AGF or the Director of Public Prosecution since the case file was sent to the AGF after the completion of its probe. “Since we concluded investigations and sent the case file to the Attorney-General, we have yet to hear from them; even the government-appointed prosecutor has yet to get back to us on his plans and we are therefore surprised to read that we interrogated Lawan and Emenalo when we have concluded investigations. We’re only waiting for the suspects to be taken to court,” he said. The source added that the investigating team is waiting to hear from the government and Chief Gbenga Awomolo, the prosecutor hired by them (FG) to prosecute the matter before any action could be taken against Farouk. http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/09/15/revealed-how-attorney-general-adoke-delaying-farouk-lawans-trial/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=revealed-how-attorney-general-adoke-delaying-farouk-lawans-trial |

BY Ayobami Oyalowo. In the recent past, our dear country Nigeria has been besieged by corruption, violence , executive, legislative and even judicial lawlessness. But nothing compares to the current siege we are faced with in the form of terrorism, being spearheaded by Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad (People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet’s Teachings and Jihad). The sect is locally known as Boko haram, a Hausa appellation for western education/civilization is sinful. While boko haram continues their killings and wanton destruction unabated, the federal government of Nigeria, headed by Mr. Goodluck Jonathan appears totally clueless, helpless, lacking in imagination and bereft of any idea with which to curb this scourge. Boko haram, according to Wikipedia, became active around 2002, in Borno State and their ideology is basically religious fundamentalism. The founder is believed to be Mohammed Yusuf, who was extra judicially murdered by the Nigerian police in their custody in July 2009. After his death, Abubakar Shekau took over the leadership of the group and his reign as leader of the sect has been nothing short of bloody. The man seems to enjoy bloodletting. The death of Yusuf has seen a serious escalation in the boko haram scourge. This puts a dampener on the sincerity of the Nigerian authorities about bringing an end to Boko haram, as every senior figure arrested since the onset, have either mysteriously died in custody or have disappeared after they have been arrested. Let us examine what may be the objectives of Boko Haram. A Terrorist, as defined by the concise oxford dictionary is a person who uses violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political gains. While terrorism is defined as the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce especially for political purposes. We can safely conclude therefore, that terrorists are basically politically motivated, but use religion as a vehicle to drive home their agenda. Also if we look at religion over several hundreds of years, we can safely conclude that terrorism is not necessarily a problem found in a particular religion, but has been used by so many political figures to pursue their dreams of an utopian age. Terrorists who claim Islam as Religion have always predicated their actions on a few verses in the Qur’an but mostly use the hadiths to back up or justify their evil agenda. One of such is found in Sura 61:10-12 ‘’jihad is the best method of earning (blessing), both spiritual and temporal. If victory is won, there is enormous booty of a country which cannot be equalled to any other source of income. If there is defeat or death, there is everlasting paradise…’’ . Sura 47 also see Allah commanding Muslims to smite the neck of anyone who did not accept the teachings of islam. What those people will not however tell you, is the context in which the sura was written. I can show several verses in the bible, which the crusaders between 1095 – 1291 misapplied to wreck havocs in the middle age otherwise known as dark ages. There is also the issue of 72 virgins. From various studies carried out and literatures available, there was nowhere in the Qu’ran or hadiths where the no 72 was mentioned. Several Islamic scholars including the American female Islamic scholar. Lezzley Hazleton have disprove that fact. The word translated as virgin is houri or dark eyed beauty was mentioned 4 time in the Qu’ran and it could have as well been a sign of purity. Also studies, shows most of these commandments to fight were written in the hadiths at a time when Islam needed to spread and the entire Arabia was inhabited by pagans. Therefore the Muslims were encouraged to fight to protect themselves and to spread their religion. Of course cowards and bigots misused these suras to bomb innocent women, children and defenseless men in churches and marketplaces in times of relative peace. Fundamentalists basically latch on to a set of religious quotes, often out of context, and always attempt to force their code of conduct and principle on everybody within their sphere of influence. Fundamentalists can be found in every religion, although in varying degrees. In Christendom, you have various sects. Some very extreme i.e. National Liberation Front of Tripura is an explicitly Christian terrorist group, forcibly converting people, the Christian Science, the latter day saints (Mormon) etc. Some of these sects may not be violent as it were, but they broke from the mainstream and adopted strange ideologies and appear to impose themselves on the mainstream Christians. The Islamic fundamentalists on the other hand, are a different ball game, they seek to propagate their brand of Islam forcefully. Note also, that they do not accept nor respect mainstream Muslims. Check out the Taliban in Afghanistan; they seek to impose their laws on all and thereby wish to bring everybody along with themselves to the dark ages. In sura 2:256 the Qur’an states ‘’let there be no compulsion in religion’’, but these lots completely ignore Allah’s command. They prefer to continue with their ill thought out but extremely bloody campaigns to the detriments of modern civilization. In Hebrew 12:14 the bible teaches ‘’Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (emphasis mine). Also in John 18:10-11, during the arrest of Jesus by armed men, we saw the Lord Jesus rebuke Peter for using his sword, for Jesus knew that he who lives by the sword, shall also die by the sword. It is therefore amazing when I hear or read very senior church figures in Nigeria, calling out their followers to retaliate and kill Muslims. I ask? Which Muslims? Is it the poor ‘’mai suya or mai shai’’ on the street or the cowardly but dangerous but faceless terrorist that hides and covertly blows children and women up? If you succeed in killing your peaceful Muslim neighbours, will that end the reign of terror as represented by boko haram? Make no mistake about it, I am as saddened and angry as the next man about the senseless waste of lives and properties, but I also understand that the enemies are not my Muslim neighbors. If I must fight, I understand that according to 2 Cor 10:14: ‘’the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are mighty through God. Note also that fundamentalists assume they are doing God a favour. John 16:2b Jesus told his disciples ‘’a time shall come when whosoever kills you will believe he is doing God a service. No God will ever ask people to kill for him. I therefore posit without any fear of contradictions that those so called men of God calling for war are not speaking for Jesus; they are on their own. Before you get on my back, I concede that we have had religious conflagrations in the past and I had also been a victim in Kano 21 years ago. While I do not support religious violence, I make bold to say that what we currently face is not mere religious skirmishes– we are at war with terrorists and terrorists world over are dangerous and brutal. Their end game is political domination. You may ask why target churches? The answer is simple: to provoke Christians and create mayhem. Note– ours is a peculiar setting and If that worked, and Muslims probably win, they will proceed to deal with the Muslims too, like they did in Afghanistan, where Muslims were forced to practice a form of Islam that is barbaric. Terrorists fear neither God nor respect any religion. Their aim is strictly political and economic domination. Rather than engage in petty fights as Muslims and Christians, it is pertinent we call on the federal government of Nigeria, with a security budget of N1trn in its kitty, to ensure our lives are truly secured. I remember vividly, that during the OBJ years, some Christian leaders made stringent insinuations that ‘Al quaeda’ was in Nigeria, specifically around Bauchi and Plateau states; training would be terrorists on the mindless art of killing many. But the government turned a deaf ear. We also recall that before the recent bombings in Zaria, Kaduna state, security was abruptly withdrawn from the affected church, hours before the attack, despite protests by the church leaders. What is the government hiding from us? Also do not forget that we have been informed by government that some masterminds or kingpins of boko haram have been arrested. But as I write, not a single breakthrough in terms of information has been mined from those arrested. Rather, we have watched as all suspects have mysteriously died in custody. Finally my advice to my Muslims brothers and sisters especially from the North is for us to foster a better understanding with our Christian brothers. Let us stand united and show those cowards that we will not let them push us into a senseless civil war. And to my fellow Christians– be sober, be vigilant for our adversary the devil moves around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5: Remember the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Do not let any man push you to where Jesus has not asked you to go to. We do not war against flesh and blood and our enemies are not the Muslims. Our enemies are spiritual. Take charge on your knees. Be wise as serpents and be gentle as doves.http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/09/13/ayobami-oyalowo-why-kill-gods-name/?wt=2 |

The Nigerian athletes for the Paralympics Games in London continue to give a good account of themselves with Esther Oyema lifting a 135kg weight in the power-lifting competition setting a new world record in the women’s 48kg category. Oyema, 30, who was also a gold medalist at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, set the record on Saturday at the ExCeL – South Arena 3. According to reports, the gold medalist said: “For the Paralympians to bring medals back to our country, they will feel very happy. “I’m not surprised because I worked very hard for it. I feel very, very good. I decided to be a world beater and to be a champion. I never doubted it. “There are more records to come. I will keep going, by the grace of God,” she assured. Her feat made it three gold medals for Nigeria after other powerlifters, Joy Onaolapo, and Yakubu Adesokan won gold in their respective categories. Yakubu Adesokan, 33, started the record-breaking spree earlier in the competition by lifting a 178kg weight. Esther Oyema’s sterling performance helps Nigeria retain its remarkable ranking among the top ten medal winning countries in the ongoing games. We say congratulations to the country’s representatives. http://www.ynaija.com/and-we-it-again-esther-oyema-wins-gold-breaks-world-powerlifting-record-at-the-paralympics/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

The issue of a certain $15million bribe money allegedly given by former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, to former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, to compromise Ribadu and his team, has recently generated a lot of controversies. The matter first came to public knowledge when Ibori was charged to court in 2007 by the EFCC for various offences. One of the counts in the charge was in relation to offering that money as bribe to Ribadu. But in an affidavit in support of his application for bail, Ibori denied any knowledge of the money. However, according to the EFCC, after taking custody of the money through Ibrahim Lamorde, who was then the Director of Operations of the Commission, the money was taken to the Central Bank of Nigeria and kept there. QUESTIONS: WHY DEPOSIT THE PROCEEDS OF A CRIME, WHICH IS ALREADY AN EXHIBIT TO BE TENDERED IN COURT, IN THE CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA? IS THE CBN A STORE FOR EXHIBITS? DOES THE EFCC NOT HAVE FACILITIES TO KEEP EXHIBITS? In any case, the 170-count charge against Ibori, which included a count of giving the $15 million bribe, was struck out by the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba. The EFCC appealed against that decision and various parts of that appeal are presently before the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. In the meantime, James Ibori, has been extradited to the United Kingdom, tried and convicted of some other offences, which do not include giving the $15million bribe or laundering that sum. In other words, if the appeal of the EFCC against Ibori succeeds at the Supreme Court, Ibori can still be tried in Nigeria for laundering the sum of $15million and giving it as bribe, since he was never tried for those offences in United Kingdom. For instance, if a person kills Mr. Peter and Paul and he is tried only for killing Mr. Peter and convicted, he can later be tried for killing Mr. Paul also. It will not amount to double jeopardy. It is with this state of affairs that the Federal Government, through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, sparked off controversy recently when it applied to court that the said money be forfeited to the Federal Government. The Delta State Government has also come forward to lay claim to the money. And a certain businessman named Chibuike Achigbu and Dr. Andy Uba, the former Special Assistant on Special Duties and Domestic Affairs to President Olusegun Obasanjo, have also claimed in court that they were the proxies through whom the money was given to Ribadu, but that it was for a different purpose other than bribe. QUESTIONS: WHY WERE THE DUO OF ANDY UBA AND CHIBUIKE ACHIGBU NOT ARRESTED AT THAT TIME (SINCE THEY ENJOYED NO IMMUNITY LIKE CHIEF JAMES IBORI) AND CHARGED TO COURT FOR CONSPIRACY AND BRIBERY? WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEEN ARRESTED UP TILL THIS MINUTE AND CHARGED TO COURT? OR IS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TELLING NIGERIANS THAT NUHU RIBADU WAS LYING ABOUT THE BRIBE MONEY? WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY WILL WANT TO RECOVER EXHIBITS THAT ARE THE PROCEEDS OF CRIME, WITHOUT FIRST ARRESTING THE CULPRITS, INVESTIGATING THEM, TRACING THE ORIGIN OF THE MONEY, CHARGING THEM TO COURT AND SECURING CONVICTION? It is in the light of the above that the attempt by the Federal Government to recover the alleged $15miilion bribe money deposited in the CBN surreptitiously through the court is nothing but a shameful and disgraceful attempt at covering up a crime, abdicating its statutory responsibility to prosecute criminals, and reneging on its pledge to the people to fight the cancer of corruption to its roots, no matter whose ox is gored. The Federal Government should immediately withdraw that case from court and the Delta State Government and all other parties should back off from this national embarrassment we are witnessing. Consequently, the Federal Government should do the following: (1) Await the decision of the Court of Appeal or Supreme Court over the appeal against the discharge of Ibori on the 170-Count charge. If the Supreme Court rules that Ibori was wrongly discharged and orders a retrial (just as happened recently in the case of Kenny Martins when a retrial was ordered by the Court of Appeal over stealing of police funds), the $15 million is one of the exhibits that will be tendered when the case is retried. (2) Await the verdict of that retrial, (if it is ordered) which retrial will determine once and for all whether the money was actually given by Ibori or not as bribe to Ribadu. (3) Arrest immediately the duo of Andy Uba and Chibuike Achigbu, interrogate them, trace the origin of the $15million, and if it has no origin, charge them with money laundering and/or conspiracy and bribery. ALTERNATIVELY (4) Arrest Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, interrogate him and charge him to court, if necessary, for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and perjury as regards the proceedings in Asaba when he swore on oath or procured another to swear that he was given a bribe. This is because, it is either Ribadu on the one hand is lying that he was offered $15million as bribe or Andy Uba, Ibori and Chibuike Achigbu on the other hand are all lying that it was not bribe. Both versions cannot be correct and any version that is false amounts to a crime under our laws. Either way, we cannot fold our arms and watch helplessly and hopelessly as some persons with dubious intentions regarding that money which is public funds play on our collective intelligence in this matter. This is a very serious matter that is turning into a comedy of sort. It is the embarrassing failure of the Federal Government to follow due process and the rule of law to the letter regarding that bribe money that is the foundation for the present absurdity we are witnessing where those who should actually be in jail and institutions that failed in performing their duties are fighting themselves publicly to claim money that is purely the proceeds of crime. It is important to mention that apart for my well-known commitment to the campaign against corruption in public office, my particular motivation in this case is the fact that the funds in question have some kind of connection to my State (Delta State) which has suffered from series of maladministration. I am an Urhobo man, born, bred and raised in Ughelli, while I hail from Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, near Warri. I am pained to see that whilst social amenities and infrastructure are lacking in most parts of Delta State, a hefty sum of $15million WHICH MAY HAVE come from the State was allegedly given in one fell swoop as bribe to cover up crimes committed, perhaps, against the people of Delta State. Consequently, if in the next few days, the Federal Government fails, refuses and/or neglects to take appropriate steps to terminate the case in court and properly investigate all the suspects in this matter, whether the principals or proxies who participated in laundering and offering this money as bribe or otherwise, I will be left with no other option than to proceed to court to bring the suspects to justice. - Festus Keyamo, Esq. http://ediong..com/2012/08/festus-keyamo-15-million-ibori-bribe.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Remember the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Do not let any man push you to where Jesus has not asked you to go to. We do not war against flesh and blood and our enemies are not the Muslims. Our enemies are spiritual. Take charge on your knees. Be wise as serpents and be gentle as doves.
