Fummiee: Good evening all, I am new in this forum. Please I would like to ask a few questions.
I am currently using an agent in Canada -ecan to process my application, though I intend to put in for the 'express entry'. But trying to collate my documents now.
My First question is that I intend using WES for the academic evaluation. But I don't know how to go about the payment. Kindly assist on this information. And also is there anyone in the house using this same agent?
Thank you house. You are welcome to the house. You can use your ATM card if it is enabled for online transactions. However I would advise that you take time out to go through the thread. Trust me you'll be glad you did. You will learn a fee tips about WES evaluation and the whole process in general. You will also gain from the FAQs and their answers. With the information garnered, you'll have little need for an agent at the end. All the best |

Can someone please confirm ECONOMIC CLASSES FORM Section 11 (a) Assets = Value of all your properties and assets (including unencumbered funds) (b) Liabilities = Debts (c) Settlement funds = Unencumbered funds at you disposal (especially your bank statement) Is this true? @Slya, Damkollins please comment too |

Yankdreamer: My application was returned last week because i did not fill the "Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) (PDF, 79 KB)" for my spouse..Ouch!!!, i must have missed it while preparing my application. Intending applicants, please take note. Thankfully, my NOC 2281 is not even up to 50% yet so hopefully i can still make it.
@Scrollmeout, my app was received on June 18 and my friend that we submitted together was debited around oct 8, i was devastated at that point, calling my bank everyday..So while preparing a new app as suggested by folks here, you might want to check your mail incase they've returned yours too so you can know where you got it wrong.. Thanks, I have been preparing my app, and been away on official assignment. I noticed someone say that GTB has resumed the issuance of the CAD draft. Can someone please confirm if it is available at their Oyin Jolayemi branch? @Yankerdream, i check my mail at least 3 times a week, and will continue to do so as advised. @Damkollins. Thanks for your help too. I was at BC today after their hiatus from the office for a week. Fortunately, i was told that another set of TRFs will be produced for me as long as i can produce evidence of my FSWP application and a letter written to explain the need for another set (my wife and i). I promptly did that and i requested to pick it u personally, although i was told it night take more than a week. In any case, i'll still prayerfully await my app so as to ascertain what went wrong. @pickabeau... Thanks for helping me review my new app. i have made some slight modifications, and i will appreciate it if you could do this again. Can someone else pleaseeeee offer to review it too . This time i am particular about my 'experience certificate' |

Hello again good people,
I just confirmed what tola73 said about GTBank's inability to raise CAD draft till further notice. I was hoping the problem could have been resolved by today, but i was informed of the 'technical difficulty' which need not be discussed ( i think this situation will remain for a while). My friend went to the bank a few minutes ago. Any suggestions on where i can can get a stress-free Draft, or do i have to revert to Debit card again? |

damkollins: Gtbank,Plural house at Oyin Jolayemi is popular to get your draft done provided you have your dorm account. Alternatively, you can initiate the FX draft from your internet banking and ask it to be delivered to the nearest Gtbank branch near you to pick it up or nominate a proxy on your behalf to pick it up. In case your DD is unsuccessful, you can REPURCHASE IT BACK to your dorm account...it will be done within 10 working days. Cheers. Thanks Ferdimako, I read the post but it means I need to have the DD physically returned if I am ever to repurchase it. right? Well what if i don't? |

Damkollins, Ferdimako
Sorry that I'm still on your case. I just want to ask Once I purchase the draft, I am debited right? so what happens if CIC doesn't encash it for one reason or it gets misplaced, what happens to my money? Also, what if my earlier CC gets charged (as yomifowe and solomonwis have opined) after i send this app, will I get a chance to claim my DD funds? Thanks |

This question is meant for anyone who has successfully made a GTBank DD draft. What should be the Beneficial Address? I guess the Beneficiary should be "Receiver General for Canada". I'm making an online request to be picked up by proxy.
Thanks |

ferdimako: I think ur problem lies in the IELTS. No originals no processing... but ur explanation that you didn't receive it back from them...should set u free. Sometimes, CIC do not send it back with other paperwork or misplace it and acknowledge that by accepting your explanation.
Pple should always make and keep a copy of any documents they send. damkollins: Though you sent photocopy with your 2nd application ,the non inclusion of the original copy may be responsible for non charging of your credit card if it wasn't included. What happened to your first application?Did you receive it back? What of the IELTS inserted in it? If you want to send this, make sure you are on British council trail to insert it as they can forget.....yes they can forget it. One story i skipped in my experience in my penultimate post is that British council forgot to insert my IELTS in my second application which ofcourse was returned too.In my second which British sent on my behalf ,i did not include photocopy and the cover letter but in my third application package,i included the photocopy of my IELTS result with the cover letter .....and i made sure a high ranking official personally gave me assurance to supervise the inclusion of my IELTS result. Ofcourse ....i got my second application back and British council indeed failed to insert my original copy of my IELTS result ..........I'm telling you this so that you will not rely on British council to insert your original copy of your IELTS result. They failed me in the first time so i have to put a lot of pressure on them the second time. Wish you well . Cheers. Ferdimako, it seems you don't understand the details. I have a copy of my Ielts, it is still with me. what Damkollins and I are saying is that CIC does not acknowledge copies of documents when they ask for originals hence the need to obtain another original from BC. Damkollins, the first IELTS report was sent along with the 30th June application. I know a lady at PH BC, i will plead with her and follow up to ensure they include it. |

damkollins: While hoping your credit card get charged ,I will advice you to send another application ....this time, please use a demand draft. Your next question will be how you will get another copy of an original of your IELTS result since I'm sure you still have a copy of your ECA report especially if u used WES . If you don't have another copy of your ECA report, please order for another one to be delivered to you within 5 working days through international courier. The big challenge is your original copy of your IELTS result......and I'll give you a lee way. Get your application package arranged and sorted out with inclusions of everything as requested......just as you submitted your first application package.Like i say, this time, avoid using credit card......use debit card. This package will contain everything except original copy of your IELTS result. I'm sure you have a scanned copy of your IELTS report, please print the photocopy and include it in your package afterwhich you will write a short cover letter addressed to CIC that you are mandating British council Nigeria to insert your original copy of your IELTS result as they do not give applicants a second copy and that they have agreed to insert it.Let them also know that inserted copy will be the original copy of the photocopied one you inserted........sine and date it. Take the whole of your package physically to British council Nigeria and tell them you want them to help you insert the original copy of your IELTS result in it since they can not give you by hand. You will be asked to pay for courier charge to Canada and may be a possible charge on the original copy of your IELTS result to be inserted.British council Nigeria will send the package on your behalf to CIC since you must have addressed it to them and they will send you a tracking numbers to track it to know when it was delivered to CIC and who signed it . The steps and advice i gave you above is not just a suggestion but a realistic solution that worked for me personally when my Gtbank master card had issues been accessed by CIC during my first application which i never receive back till date. Please start the process as soon as possible while you wait for possible charge on your credit card for your first application .........please use demand draft this time. Cheers. A very big thank you to you Damkollins. You have done it again! Not only have you given me renewed hope, you have shared your personal experience with me and the rest of the house, may God bless you abundantly. I was about to pick a hole in your suggestion but i realised that you were right after all. You know i told the house that i sent two applications before now. The 1st was returned because as a newbie, spurred on by my siblings OZ success, i forgot to include Accra as VO and 1150 CAD instead of 1250CAD as payment sum. I sent the second 3 weeks later after realizing my folly, this time i sent a COPY of my IELTS and a cover letter explaining reasons but still no success. I'm quite positive that this your approach will work. Thank you. I'll keep the house posted on my experience. |

ferdimako: EE will be better... that is Wht I'm gonna go for. It is modeled from the Oz's. It's more straightforward once you're qualified and have your documents sent online and it could take max of six months to process. Take a break...you did your best with what you did. Ur only concern should be...will my NOC still be demanded? Yeah, a sibling of mine went to OZ with their Skillselect thing, and it works, thing is i'm not so keen about OZ. My NOC is 2133, its not so hot but you never can tell what is gonna happen. I'm expecting that CIC might raise the eligibility requirements a notch(maybe min of 7 across board) so i treat it with a bit of skeptiscm. More importantly, WHERE is my app since i still need my original ielts? This BC people be doing 'shakara'! |

zeelo2014: @ scrollmeout, what's up? It is good to know that you still care. Well, to say i am worried or tense is a big understatement. I was hoping Solomonwis could also lend his voice to this big challenge i am facing, but it seems he has been busy on his project. A big thank you to Damkollins and the rest of the house for your responses thus far. Remember my application was received on June 30, 2014. but July 9 CC applicants are being debited. On a lighter note, Since my profession involves problem solving, i worked out a few scenarios so as to find a solution. SCENARIO 1 Hotter NOCs 1112 were given attention so they could reach the cap faster. I soon realised however that other NOCs were still being charged including mine, albeit sparingly. SCENARIO 2 I also thought my Debit card was the problem, but i since found out from my bank that no attempt has been made by CIC to charge it SCENARIO 3 My application was misplaced. I used to DHL tracking number to track it and found that it was actually received but the name of the official who received it wasn't logged. I also found out that some applications with the same cases did not have problems. SCENARIO 4 The recent shooting disrupted CIC activities hence the reason for the delay, but alas, they soon resumed to business as usual. OTHER ACTIONS TAKEN I called British council to find out if i could request for another TRF but was told that they do not give more than one copy to test takers, they can only send a copy directly to Canada at a cost of N10,000. This of course means that it will not go with my application. this process is not guaranteed. I called a customer care line +1 613 944 4000 to ask about my application but the agent told me he has no information about FSWP even though i was told he helped some callers some days ago. I used my UCI to find out from the website, but since i haven't been charged the reply was null. Lastly, i sent a Case specific enquiry to CIO but responses usually take between 30 - 45 days, at which point it may be too late to apply on this stream. I prefer not to wait for EE because i am not sure it may be easier. What do i do? This stage is crucial to me because i am about to make some decisions that would be impacted if my PR is issued in a year or two. |

Quick question please. Has anyone obtained another 'original' copy of his/her IELTS? The site http://www.britishcouncil.org.ng/exam/ieltsits not possible and only copies can be issued to 'institutions'. I find this shocking and hard to believe. |

akanni: i think you can also call their contact center on the internet to verify that the card is activated. Better still, try and do a test debit on it just to be sure it's ok. also, at the back of your card, there should be a number to contact for any enquiries. i hope this helps a bit. I appreciate the responses from the house. I used this same card to pay for my Ielts and WES assessment. I also use it to buy recharge cards on quickteller. But i. will try again as suggested, thanks |

damkollins: I'm sure the official you spoke to have no clue about what you told him or perhaps, you are unable to communicate to him in a language that will be understandable to him or her.I'm sure yourself knows that WES doesn't need your pin number to access your account when you pay for assessment like wise British doesn't need your pin number to access your account when you pay for IELTS registration . CIC have your authorization on the fee form where you have filled your card details, name of the cardholder, card numbers and the security number digits at the back of your card.I also assume you sign the fee payment form before submission .Once all these ha been done, that is the authorization needed to deduct the cash. Contrary to you, credit and debit cards are acceptable for CIC processing fees even though so many reasons avail that makes it unpredictable .....just that it affected me. So many applicants in Nigeria have been successful including a recent experience of my friend i share with you. My friend only gave a verbal confirmation/authorization without the so called pin code and it was debited within 10mins. These are info you should have been aware of before using this card.......I'm sure the bank official is not well updated to understand what you explained to him or her. Cheers. I share your sentiments too. In fact i later went to GTB - where I also have an account- to discuss these same issues and it was a different story. I was told the direct opposite that the process is quite easy, the only thing is that they might hold the funds for a day or two but I'll still get an alert. Now, I am thinking of writing to CIC to inquire about the status of my application. I think its against the rules to send multiple applications under the same NOC else I would have paid for a copy if my Ielts from British Council and obtained GTB DD to go with it. Can someone please furnish me with the email address for specific case enquiries? I find it difficult to fold my arms and just wait for so long. Kindly advise. |

scrollmeout: Wow, Damkollins this is very valuable information. I'll do that this morning I'll go to their Ph head office. This is why its good to ask questions. Thanks again bros. Hi Damkollins, Anbako and others I went to First Bank and discussed with the Manager. I went with a copy of the fee payment form. He told me the transaction is not possible with the fee payment form alone without either my PIN or a letter authorising the payment which would contain CIC's account no. He also says the CIC process is too open and is subjec to fraud. Does that mean ALL debit cards from Nigeria cannot do the job? Can I know what your friend had to do? Thanks |
Travel › Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by scrollmeout(m): 7:58am On Oct 24, 2014 |
damkollins: On the alternative, please try to contact your back physically and asked if there is a pending transaction on your account. A buddy of mine was in same issue yesterday. It was at Gtbank that it was realized that there was a pending transaction from CIC on the account which needs the applicant's approval. Once the approval was given, the account was debited immediately. Funny thing is that the banks sometimes do not give approvals for such transactions and they will never notify applicants for such. When this happens after about 48 or 72 hours, the transaction will be denied. This has happened to me before and cost me alot of additional waiting time which is why I always advised applicants to go for demand draft(DD) because not all applicants find it rosy with credit card debit. I really pray yours do not fall into this category....please visit your bank and explain further to a senior bank official to the one you have met before. Cheers. Wow, Damkollins this is very valuable information. I'll do that this morning I'll go to their Ph head office. This is why its good to ask questions. Thanks again bros. |
