NNBB2012: I don't know how long it takes to do that. Haven't you assessed your qualification? Why would you assess work experience? You really don't need it. Just go ahead with the number of years of relevant experience you have. That means I may have thrown AUD320 away (N51,000). Yes I already assessed my qualification several months ago. I didn't opt for work experience assessment initially cos i was waiting for my work anniversary. I need points for work experience as well, hence the decision. So you are also of the opinion that it isn't necessary? |

Hello NNBB2012. Please do you know how long it takes to assess work experience alone on EA? This isn't stated in the MSA booklet. I browsed the websites but it only refers to the Skills assessment which is currently 9 weeks. |

Thanks a lot Erictack and Alaoeri for your helpful feedback. Alaoeri, i saw that you you can apply directly on their website. However, i need to point out that she will get only 10 points for education then for a Diploma course |

Hello guys,
Erictack203, i sight you. I'm interested in helping my younger sis secure admission in Australia for a course that'll help her obtain PR later. At the same time, i do not want to break the bank for this as i need money to settle myself. Nursing would have been a better choice but for the high tuition and the other requirements. I'm now looking to Masters in Health Science or Public Health, so as to qualify for Occupational Health / Environmental Health officer.
I see AUD 22,400 for University of Western Sydney. Based on your experience, can you advise on a better (cheaper) choice? |

I don't mean to be rude but I'd like to say this. Engineers, as much as I'd like to give my free time to help some of us review their CDRs, if you send me a report "contracted" out, I will simply ignore it. If I can tell you didn't write it, be sure EA can tell as well. If you cannot spare your time to write it, then don't expect me to spend my own time reviewing yours. Sincere advice! |

NNBB2012: Well, may be I should have referred you to my previous posts. All you required had been stated previously. I would still advise you to read those posts. Reading them is still better than paying an agent to do it for you.
Here is the summary of what you need to do:
1 Check the SOL/CSOL: •2 Calculate Points. You need either 50,55,60points minimum depending on your visa type. 3. Select the Visa Types: 4. Proof of English Language ability: •5 Skills Assessment: •6 Gather the documents •7 Submitting an Expression of Interest: 8.Wait for the invitation •9 Lodging Application: •11 After Lodging: 12. Upload necessary documents such, reference letter, payslips,PCC,Tax certificates, etc 13. Arrange medicals •14 The Waiting: •15 The Decision: Somebody should bookmark this page now o! I know i will, for future reference. Thanks NNBB2012. |

Mehn! Bosslady is only gone two days and everything is going awry! Well, for anyone looking or answers on a forum such as this, one needs to realize that no one is obliged to answer your questions. This is just a past time for some people, and a bit more for others...asides the fact that there is family and work to attend to. You just need to be polite and courteous. At least make an effort by making some basic research, it'd be easier to answer when it's obvious you made an effort. Having said that, won't it just be better to allow someone else reply a question if you feel the op is 'too lazy'? If you must, let's try to be polite. Even if your view is correct, condescending will invalidate the effort. |

maolmash: hello everyone! pls i just got my permanent residency visa to Australia, myself and my family actually. pls i need the following information to make our relocation successful. 1. where in Australia are some blacks and a few immgrants resident? so that one can have that sense of 'family-community' 2. i will really appreciate what rent in those places are like to help me budget 3 how soon can i get a job as a graduate of English Language and a Masters in Counselling (education). my husband is an IT auditor with bot CISA and ICAN qualifications. 4. is there a particular time school children must arrive to make resumption in primary schools? 5. Lastly, i need a supervisor for a doctorate research. does anyone have any idea how finding one can be easier?
i will really appreciate good responses. thank you. Congrats! Seeing that you have been silent for a while, i would have loved to see you share your timeline. Well from my research. 1. In terms of multicultural exposure, from the highest: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, .....Sydney would have been first but for the higher real estate and cost of living. 4. Schools in the Southern areas, all of NSW resume in January. Just my two cents but I stand to be corrected. I'm sure folks who are already settled will have more to chip in. |

bossladymo1: That was back when just anyone could apply for NSW sponsorship. But since they started sending out invites to qualified applicants, the wait time has reduced. But if you will get the points needed for 189 next month, then go for it. 189 does not restrict you to a state.
My kids are attend a daycare here. There is no traffic issue here, so I can afford to leave home 7:30am, even if I'm to resume by 8am....same for closing time. So they get their rest and are not stressed. Okay thanks. I pray it won't be too expensive. |

bossladymo1: 189 or 190? Just consulted my Bro in Sydney. He says seeing that NSW 190 takes as long as 6 months, its probably better I wait till next month and apply for 189 which takes 3 months. I currently have 55points, I will get additional 5 points next month from years of experience. Bossladymo1, there's another issue I've been thinking about. How do you manage to cater for your baby, seeing that you are currently working? Hope its not too personal to share? |

Hi E-family,
This is for Engineers who are preparing their CDRs for EA submission. Here are a few points i got from reviewing a report from a nairalander:
1. Your CV must be 3 pages or less. 2. Have separate files (pdf prefarably) for each of your CDRs and other docs. i.e. 1 each for each CDR. 3. Prepare your Continuous Professional Development document in a table with these distinct columns: S/N, Title/Description, Description of the activity, starting date, duration, venue 4. Prepare your summary statement as a separate document, 5. Each document should have a cover page with your name and date.
Some of these i learnt from personal experience and at he online submission stage. |
