Good day fam.

Please, my occupation is sponsored by two states, South Australia and Tasmania. Now, one of the criterials in Tasmania is one ought to have lived there for two years. i.e Tasmania is out of it.

My question is, should I choose South Australia where the occupation is in the supplementary skilled list in this circumtances?

Your responses will be appreciated.

Thank you

You have started well by researching your options. Have you visited the SA migration website to check if there are special considerations for sponsorship? There is a reason the South Australia tick is yellow in colour?

"Same SOL"? How about if the applicant has her occupation listed on both SOL and CSOL and her spouse's occupation is listed only on CSOL?

Would she be able to earn partner points if he gets a positive assessment on his nominated occupation?

I just want to be very clear on this. Thank you

cc: tyosho, bellong
It must be the same because you will both get the same visa.
Try Google and you'll get here.

By the way , Competent English means 6 in all test components(IELTS) or 50 in all components (PTE)

I learnt for couples migrating together, the wife can add 5 point to the primary applicant, does she needs to write the language test too.how is the 5 point calculated

2,) what's the difference between CANADA PR. and AUSTRALIA PR. it seems Australia is easier to come back.what do u think
Yes your partner can add 5 points. The conditions are
1. They must both have their occupations listed on the same SOL
2. Your partner must have a positive skills assessment, which may entail an english test as part of the conditions.

As for the 2nd question, it's all subject to personal interpretation

Damn, I should have gone for Electrical. embarassed
Wow, sorry to hear that. Hope isn't lost though. What matters now is how early you get on the list. Should they start to invite people with the same score as you, you will get in early. Time is of the essence now!

Sorry, I think DIPB specifies you provide PCC for a country you have leave for 12 months and above and not 6 months. Just to correct the below assertion.
See pic

Thanks for the info. However, note that I said you MAY be required to provide TRAVEL HISTORY. I didn't specify PCC. Your case officer may ask you fill form 80. His initial question was whether he had to fill in travel history for the country(ies) he visited.

Thank you for your swift response. The only worry I have is how to get a PCC from that country since I am not on ground there. I don't know if anyone has submitted PCC from different countries before, how did such person go about it.

You haven't mentioned the country. In any case, search other forums, i am aware of how to obtain UK PCC. do your research, i reckon many people have done so many times

Hi all, please, I am wondering if there is anyway DIBP can check the countries one has been to. I am aware they would ask me on the form, but I don't want to list a country as I might not be able to get a PCC from that country.

I would appreciate any suggestion on this. Thanks.
You need to tell the truth when providing information, else you will be guilty of providing false information. You may be required to provide travel history of countries you have spent more than 6 months. Why risk a denial, or a ban if you are required to do so?

Hello Sirs,
I am Timothy, 29years of age. I have 4.5 years work experience in the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) field. I graduated in 2011 with a Bsc certificate in Biochemistry (4yrs study), also hold a PGD certificate in environmental management (1year study).
I have professional training certificates like Nebosh, IOSH, Lead auditors QMS 9001, EMS 14001 & OHSAS 18001,OSHAcademy, first aid training and many others.
I have written the english test (ielts) with a total grade of 7.0 (I dont mind to write again to get better grades).
If i add my nysc, my total experience will be 5.5years.
I know that my age is 30points, degree is 15 points, experience is 10 points. I also intend to look for state sponsor since my occupation (occupational health and safety ) isnt on the skilled list but on the CSOL list.
Do I stand a chance of getting positive assessment outcome from VETASSESS?
Please I need help!

It's probably better not to hope to get points for Nysc year, except of course you were PAID to work in QHSE durIng that time, with documented evidence. Points for experience are 3 yrs, 5yrs, and 8yrs respectively.
Why don't you give it a try. Is there a reason why you think you may not get a positive assessment?

I saw this on the news a few days ago.It goes to show the thinking of the current Turnbull-led Liberal party. The Immigration minister has been under fire recently for saying that it was a mistake for the Fraser administration to open its borders to resettle immigrants from Lebanon in the 1970s citing a recent development where 22 out of 33 Australians charged with terrorism related offences were of Lebanese-Muslim background.

It has been said too that Malcom Turnbull was never a pro-immigration person. He feels it's too easy (free) to gain permanent residence and people should have to pay up to $50,000 for it. This was his opinion before he became the Prime Minister.

In his capacity as the Prime Minister however, he recently negotiated a deal with the Obama led administration for the US to resettle some refugees from Australia. It's in doubt though that Donald Trump will honour this agreement when he sits in the white house come January 2017.

I've also noticed that a lot of Australians have apprehension about the large influx from the Middle east in Sydney. They feel less safer nowadays.

In my opinion, this 2 tier visa system may not see the light of day as it needs to get several nods in the Parliament including opposition

hi everyone, thanks for all the input added on this thread.

my wife and i are considering immigrating to Australia using PR.
I have Computer science as my first degree but work experience is not aligned with my degree study.

Please advise if i have a chance of being granted PR and requirements needed.

@bellong, NNBB2012, scrollmeout, kubbiebrownie and other gurus in the house, your input will be much appreciated.

Bro, no one can advise you on whether u can make it or not. It depends on your personal circumstances. Assess your points, only then can you know whether u stand a chance or not. For example, what do you do for work? And how many years of experience do you have? Which occupation do you want to nominate? You barely provided enough info about yourself and you want others to advise you. lipsrsealed

One is expected to nominate an occupation for assessment with vetassess, what is the chances that after nominating the listed states/territories occupation in the Csol, before the assessment result comes out the occupation is remove and not available in any state or territories.?

If the Csol can be updated any time does that mean we have to keep checked the Internet daily to see any removal or addition?

The CSOL usually stays the same during the financial year. However, special conditions are either introduced or relaxed at different times during the year. An example is Customer care/Call centre officer 149---. I saw a question about this on the thread. Special conditions sometimes state that you need to have 75 points to even apply or you nred to hAve stidied in the state. So you have to apply at the right time during the year.

How often is the list updated? Both sol and csol lists.

SOL is reviewed at the end of every Australian financial year - July 1, CSOL can be updated anytime by the territories/states

1.I have a B.sc in Science Laboratory Technology(microbiology option). it is closely related Microbiologist, Lab Manager and Quality Assurance Manager, which an considering nominating but they are all in CSOL and assess by VETASSES. Can i choose Environmental health officer since it is on SOL and also assess by VETASSES?

2.Can a state opening a particular skill for sponsoring and suddenly close it within a period or when open it remain open forever?#

3. I don't want to claim any working experience point but current work as Administrative Manager in production factory that have all the above listed occupation. I guess my work don't part any part in the application process.

Great Thanks.

Environmental and Health officer has been removed from the SOL in July 2016. You can nominate a closely related occupation if you have related education and/or work experience. Your current job has to relate to your nominating occupation if you intend to caim work experience

Chai. And am even thinking of hustling up tho 20 points from English test to make a60. Since my chances are limited with 60 pointa for 189, will I get an advantage of I should aim 190 with the 60points. Is anything like that possible?
BKings, don't stress yourself unnecessarily. 60 points will do you just fine, except yout want to get nominated in the very next invitation round or your occupation is in very high demand. All the same put in your very best in your English test.Do not aim for 190 or 489 except you find yourself in that situation. Same for Akinnawou with 65 points, just investigate how long it takes someone with 65 points for Engineering Technologist to be invited

That response was for him and him alone. EOIs are ranked according to scores. This means someone with 65 points will be invited before another with 60 points. Different occupations have their own cutoff points. For someone who nominated accounting, 60 points will not be sufficient to get a nomination in 7 months because it is already pro-rata. Most people gave scores above 60. I merely stated that he is likely to be invited BEFORE November when he will drop from 65 points to 60 points. It doesn't mean he will be invited in November

According to EngineersAustralia, the Assessing body of the Engineers, you need a Masters Degree to be classed under the Professional Engineer.

That is not true! You absolutely do not need a Masters degree to be assessed as a Professional Engineer.
A bachelor's degree will suffice. A Bachelor's or Masters serve the same purpose for Migration Skills Assessment. If your degree is not covered by the Washibgton Accord, your outcome is dependent on factors including your Competency Development Report and your Awarding Institution

First and foremost, I want to commend bellong for puting up a master piece in the intro to this new thread, it was very informative.have been a silent observer on this thread for a while now,I want to thank
@scrollmeout
@NNBB2012
@chukdee
@Manmeta
They have been of great support to me in my PR paroles.
I lodger my application to EA on the 11th of April this year, and the outcome came in early today 21st April 2016 I did the fast track one.I applied as a professional Engineer, but in the outcome letter, they said my qualification is equivalent to Engineering Technologist. And that my degree is equivalent to Australia Qualification Framework as bachelors degree. I want to know if this qualifies me to v the 15points.

I wrote IELTS last year, I had above the 6.0 band score but my score didn't fetch me points.however I did PTE jst last month on the 16th of match, result came out early the following day,17th march.
Listening 81
Reading 90
Speaking 84
Writing 80
As it is now, my total points accumulated
English test -20 points
Age-32----- 25 or 30 points,by end of November I wld b a year older, I really don't know which point to pick 25 or 30
Bachelors degree(elect/ elect engineering with telecommunications option--------- 15
Total points= 60 or 65 depending on age point
I want the dons in the house to clarify on the engineering technologist thing.
Thanks house..

Big Congratulations Akinnawou on your PTE score and your outcome. That was a wonderful score! You get 20 points.

First and foremost, one good thing about your outcome is your education is assessed as equivalent to Bachelors degree under the AQF so you are entitled to 15 points.

Secondly, you cannot use this outcome letter to apply as a Professional Engineer, rather, you can apply as an Engineering Technologist Anzsco code 233914 on the SOL.

With regard to your age, you get 30 points until November 2016. Since you have 65 points in your kitty, you will most likely get invited before November.

When filling your EOI your points will be calculated for you. The sooner you apply the better. Congrats again. I'm glad I could be of help.

Good morning house,I found out that its only SA that nominated my occupation Economist meanwhile its in celling list in Canberra (pls I don't understand what they mean by celling list).I was thinking if I should do my assessment with vetassess now which would be ready in July by Gods grace.of which the list for the nominated occupations for 2016/2017 will be out in July.

what if my occupation does not exit in the 2016 /2017 list.how am I going to further my application if my assessment were positive.

Thanks Boss's for you replies

Nobody can predict whether your occupation will be included in the CSOL for the next financial year. Nobody! My occupation, Electronic Engineer has been flagged as endangered for 3 years but it is still included every year on SOL.

Try and read immigration threads for hints but you cannot be certain.

Hello Dear Nairalanders,

I have a question. Yes, one directed to anyone studying at Charles Darwin University. Is it a safe place to for International students? A family member was offered admission for July intake but she heard that Darwin was unsafe as it was know for drug peddling, rape, and all sorts of crimes especially form the Aborigines in the area.

Can someone please give an opinion on this. Please i need an urgent response as time is running out.
Thanks
