ANBAKO:
I will advise you to take it cool. There are applicants of late June that are still being charged. Never loose hope. You said you want to act fast. Then I think you need to contact your bank. Call their Customer service people, Go to a branch or something. Is your card interswitch? Call interswitch too. You need to act very fast.

Personally, I think this is a lesson learnt for potential applicants: It is better to use a credit (not debit) card or Bank draft. With the case above, there can be failure from either Mastercard, Interswitch or First bank.

I share your pain but I pray it will turn to good news and happiness.
Thank you for your reply. Like i said in my post, i have visited the bank - twice, but the guys seem clueless. For now, maybe i'll try to contact Interswitch, i'm not sure how but i'll have to try. Frankly, this waiting game is painful - i pray i laugh at the end of all this

Hello House,

Damkollins, Solomonwis, and others, please I need your honest advice. I think i need to act fast to avert possible decline or delay. My application was received on June 30 and I'm yet to be debited.
I have been monitoring the order of CC charging on another forum since its "first cone first served" and found out some hours ago that July 7 applications are being charged at the moment. I assumed the charging was done on a week by week basis, June 30-July 4 being in the same week.

I am now guessing they are having difficulty charging my card since my app hasn't been returned. I use a First Bank MasterCard. I contacted my closest branch but he guy i met seemed clueless. Is it possible to contact Interswitch directly? What should I do pls? I do not want to more miss the chance having waited for so long. I know CIC will only try 3 rimes before they return your app. Pls help!!!

Good day every1, pls I wanna confirm smth. a friend application was rejected n returned at accra based on job mismatch. Now the person is asking if d spouse can apply for the ongoing FSPW since he's more eligible in one of d occupation. Will the rejected application affect the spouse if d spouse wants to apply for d current one?
Not at all. The applications will be treated separately. The spouse can go ahead.

No cause for alarm, June applicants are still being debited. CIC attends to several application dates simultaneously.
Thank you for replying, haven't been getting responses from the house lately. Which bank did you use please? And did you have a similar experience?

Hi guys,

I found out July applicants are being debited, and I'm a June 30 applicant. I don't think I made any mistakes. I used a Firstbank Naira MasterCard. Any thoughts? This is really frustrating!!!

Maybe Damkollins was right about using DD instead!

For those of us just starting now, please persist and forge ahead...the journey of a thousand years starts with just a step.
By this time of last year,I was in similar stages like most of you.
I wish you all the very best in all endeavors.

Morning guys,
Appreciate all the kind and prompt responses to my questions.
When WES got my documents, my status was updated as 'documents received-review in progress'. Thereafter, I got a mail that photocopies of my documents have been sent to my institution for verification, I checked my account and my status showed 'awaiting institution verification' (something like that). After 2 days, I got another mail that my documents have been received and it is being reviewed. On checking my status,'documents received-review in progress'. Now this morning I checked my status and i see 'Evaluation in progress'. Does this mean my institution has responded or Evaluation entails the verification. I need to know this so as to be able to contact my institution.
Though November 5 has been set for Nov 5 has been set for completion.

Thanks
Rest assured that your credential assessment will soon be ready, even before Nov 5. If I may ask, why do u intend to contact your institution? WES has a cordial relationship with most institutions over the years, therefore for verification purposes, channels of communication are numerous and quite open. I had a similar experience a year ago.

Hello house, you are doing a great job with all the info wink
My question is this, I used a prefunded master card from fcmb( for footing d bill for my processing fee). Do I need to call my bank to let them know CIC would be debiting my acct anytime...because d card has a pin,and obviously CIC do not have the pin. Thanks in anticipation of a quick response.
What is more important is that you check with your bank if the card is enabled for online transactions. As far as I know, you are not required to provide your pin. You are required to provide

1. Your 12 digit card number.
2. Name on the card
3. Expiry date
4. Security (3 digit) number on the back of your card.

Good evening House,

Quick question. I reside in Kaduna State, can I go to The State Police Head Quaters to get Police Clearance or any police station can just serve the purpose?

Someome should kindly assist please
CIC has stated on their website that PCCs from Nigeria must be obtained from CID Alagbon, Lagos. I advise you visit the State CID office, specifically the 'Fingerprinting' section and make enquiries. They can obtain the certificate from Alagbon for you, once you fill the form and take your prints. I did the same here in Port Harcourt for a fee.

Happy Sunday to all,

I have noticed that there has been little feedback from members (except but a few) who submitted their applications earlier in the year. I don't want to mention names at the moment but I really hope that its not because they were unsuccessful. Please share your success stories with the house, and let's rejoice with you grin and maybe learn a thing or two.

..or is my observation not valid?

Meritl: Hello scrollmeout .
Are you saying it is compulsory that your Bank balance must be obtained on or before the day you sign your application?
House help too as I'm on the brink of submission.
@Meritl..@bal2012002
I'm sorry if i confused you or anyone else. It is not compulsory, neither is it a rule. It's just a rule of thumb, if you may that i use based on someone else's experience...
Just my opinion here but i don't think it makes sense that you have a document that may be deemed out of date. I actually meant to say that the bank balance certification should be up to date (current)as at the time you send your application. I actually signed and dated my forms after i gathered all of the required documents.

Folks, i have a question of my own.

Out of curiosity I tried checking the status of my application using a UCI issued on an earlier returned application, albeit under another NOC. The response is shown below. My account has not been debited though but i am envisaging it to be in about a month.
Should i expect to get another UCI in my PER, or on this same one?

support from this forum is awesome.
Please do yourself a favour and have the amount in your account at a date on or before the signature and date on your form. Of course this date should be before you send the application

Most likely you will be asked for a new banks statement at Accra VO before your visa is issued.

Hello KK consults,

I have been following your thread with very keen interest. Good job. I have two questions
Firstly, do i assume the two flats on one side- 1 top, 1 bottom?
Secondly, do the residents of the flat have a separate access gate? because your initial 3D plan doesn't show this

Thanks

I hope none of these were repeated in your application with CIC now?
I really wish you the best.....and for the love of what you have been through,i pray this will be favourable application tl you.

Thanks for your good wishes. I made just two mistakes.
1. Incorrect total sum, i.e. addition of the respective fees.
2. Not filling Accra as a Processing Office.

The highlighted areas only buttressed the points.

Thank heavens no mistakes this time.

I plan to send in my application tomorrow through DHL.
I have checked and rechecked this application and the document.

All the same I want the house to advise on any common mistakes that are possible....so as to do final checking before submission......
Thanks.
@ANBAKO, I'm sorry for not responding to your earlier request about common mistakes. I took a business trip out of town and didn't have the docs with me. I'll share it with the house when i get home later today.

damkollins: Sorry for what happened .

Coming back to your returned application.......how come it took you long to send again for this stream when you your IELTS and ECA was on ground? I waited till June because of the revised eligibility so i could apply under a new NOC category since i had more experience in that category.
How long did it take CIC to return it? I received it exactly 3 weeks after CIC got it. Although the processing time was way faster at the time
What's the content of the explanation letter that accompanied your returned application? They have a list of common mistakes, from which they highlight the one applicable. They also highlighted the mistake on my form
Was the second application without original IELTS result also returned? Yes it was returned. That is why i sent this new application but under another NOC category
Some for the series of questions ......the answers will be useful for other applicants in the future.....Soooooo please endeavour to share it for the whole house.
I believe your returned application helped you alot in the last submitted application.....hence it will be successful. My brother my returned application was more than valuable to me. In fact, they corrected areas with little 'overlookable mistakes by crossing out the unnecessary part, For example, your personal details on your International passport like place of birth must be consistent throughout your application. You can't write 'Abule egba, Lagos somewhere and type just 'Abule egba' or "Lagos" somewhere else.

Additionally, they ticked the correct entries so i knew they were error free.

Did you use credit card or DD? I applied using my Firstbank mastercard. Allthough they still haven't debited me
Cheers.

damkollins: Your returned application ........was it for this current FSW2014/2015stream or the previous? You will be generous enough to share this typo error with forumites here so that they will learn from it and not make such mistake again......we all learn better from mistakes either positively or negatively .
There is a global forum for applicants where everybody share their timelines of all their milestones from beginning to the end of the whole process. With sufficient data from applicants ,the activities of CIC is easily monitored with respect to applications been treated. With this info though not worldwide,it is a representative fraction of the actual applicants for FSW.Please find below the link to the spreadsheet for which I'm privileged to be among the Admin.
http:///FSW14-Spreadsheet
CIC are too busy to give such info out on the actual applications been processed.
Cheers.
My earlier application was under another NOC 2243 for the 2013 stream. The typo was in the fee payment form. The total sum was cad 1150 instead of 1250. I discovered this even before my application returned to Nigeria. In order to meet the deadline, I resent the corrected application with a cover note explaining the reasons for having a coloured copy of my IELTS while I awaited the originals from them.

Like I said earlier, my application was still returned in spite of my explanations.

damkollins: You need to be calm and be patient.....real patience .
CIC is currently processing application packages received between 12th and 16th of May,2014.
You need to wait for between 4 and 8 months before it will get to your turn.
Relax...calm down andmstop worrying .
Cheers.
Thanks damkollins. I had an earlier application returned after 3weeks due to a typo error and I've been hoping that this new one scales through.
If may ask though, how come u know the exact week being processed. Is it available on the CIC website?

Tranquill, you are doing exactly what you are accusing Solomonwis of. Just because I have a differing opinion does not give you the right to attack me

..Well, just for for clarity, I AM the one who liked justwise's post. I have been following this thread since 2013, and am no stranger to his antecedence....While i will always encourage people to do the right thing, i will not impose my opinions on any one. Bragging about cutting corners will only lead to stricter measures or even closed doors. This same attitude is what is tearing down the fabric of our society.

My 2cents was just an attempt at calming things down, maybe I'll call this my $100...

Let peace reign abeg.

Tranquill: You that is a pius crusader of non-borrowing kindly put your real name up here so that at least CIC will recorgnise you and mandate Accra to give you a special preference. Tranquill, while I do agree that Solomonwis can be quite unyielding, however i do not share think your attempts at cyberbullying will benefit anyone including yourself. Many people have benefitted from this ingenious endeavour of his. I think it would suffice to state your case convincingly and let people decide on their course of action. Besides, everyone is entitled to his opinion, even if it is against public opinion....my 2 cents.

Hi guys,

I have some information to share.

I just received an evaluation update from WES that my ECA would be ready in 7days time and they have gathered all the necessary documents. However I only sent my Certificates for my degree and my ND, only my university has sent my transcript. My ND transcript is yet to be sent to WES. How can it be possible since it categorically states that all transcripts be submitted? I gave a lady in the records office some money for courier, should she still send it?

Secondly, should the reference letter from my employer be addressed to CIC or should it be TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

Thanks for the anticipated response. wink
