Anyways, I did mine when it was stil hardcopy,I made my payment 10 Dec 2014, my assessment letter which I finally got on 4 of april 2015 was dated 5 march. That's 5days less than 3months

Mine was online. I actually paid on March 26th, making the 'incoming' week the 13th, sorry. The current turnaround time is 13weeks, so I'm rather surprised they are just commencing the assessment.

Hi Engineers in the house, it's been a week since i noticed my status on Engineers Australia portal change from queued for assessment to assessment in progress. I also received an email to that effect. Incidentally, this week also makes it the 13th week since I submitted. Please, how long does it usually take to get an outcome after this notification or do I have to wait much further?

I think I'm being misunderstood. in all I said I know they're gonna be scanned, I know that no hard copies r being sent. just wanted to clarify that if all ur docs r originals then no need to see the four walls of a court for certification. but thx for the clarification though. I'm still gathering up my docs that I'll send to EA.

Hi guys, @ewagbamio. Please can anyone with experience about applying for IELTS remark share their experience about the process? I applied for a remark of my writing test about four weeks ago. They collected everything from me, including the envelope used to deliver the result. How will the outcome be communicated to me please? Thanks

CIC will check the validity of your ECA number before you are deemed eligible for EE

For PTE, if you have 65 points in all 4 sections = 10 points (proficient english)
if you have 79 points in all 4 sections = 20 points (superior english)
However, the minimum requirement for PR is 50 points in all sections = 0 points (competent english)


You get 5 points for State sponsorship subclass 190

Only IELTS with a score of 6 in all components is acceptable by Engineers Australia. As earlier advised by NNBB2012, i suggest you download and read the EA skilled migration assessment booklet.

That thing was talking about using two sittings...I thought only Nigeria knows that two sittings thing.

People must have complained bitterly...I remember writing to DIBP on why they give British Council that monopoly.

So if u are a nurse or midwife or both and want to register as one in Oz, if u have the test results of the same type...kindly use the two so long as both are within 6 months of each other. Like u can have speaking 7.0, Writing 7.5, Reading 6.5 and Listening 7.0 from ur March 1 IELTS Academic exams....quickly or don't wait more than August 30 to take another IELTS AC exam to get maybe Reading 7.0, Writing 6.5, Listening 6.5 and Speaking 7.5!

For PTE Academic...65 overall if u wanna combine two sittings...no band on both should be less than 58!

Note for Nurses and Midwives..only IELTS AC is accepted..no GT. U still have TOEFL iBt as an option. There are CAE and OET..I don't think they admissible in NIGERIA. Check though...I learnt OET is the best.

Meanwhile, this is one criterion to be allowed to register and get a license oh. For immigration, u will still deal with ANMAC.

I hope other assessing authorities get a review like this from DIBP.

Well, i applied for a remark of my writing today. I'll keep preparing for my PTE, but never again will i write IELTS, never again!

Yes I do, to get 10 pints for proficient English.

The post is quite long so i won't quote it. I can identify with the op. I wrote IELTS for the 3rd time on 30th April in order to get 10 points, and eagerly expecting the results today. I was evidently spurred on by Buhari's 3rd time victory.

I have vowed not to write IELTS again if i don't make it a third time and opt for PTE instead.

- there is another vacancy (not the position he is applying for)
- there are several positions available

I will try to ascertain that when I visit the recruitment agent. I will have to discuss the outcome of my visit with my friend before I apply so as to have a clear conscience.

I'm torn between two decisions. A very good friend and colleague confided in me about his invitation to an interview. Since we both work in the same company and made up our minds to leave, i encouraged him to go for the test/interview since he'll most likely get a better offer. The things is i'm not sure if its morally right to send in my own application as well. I would not want to ruin his chances as i do not know the number of vacancies available. I'm not even sure if it'll be a good idea to even ask him. Our friendship means a lot to me but so does my career as well. Candid advise please?

When you did your certificate assessment from OAU, was the transcript sent by the school or you were given the transcript?
I want to know how fast it could be if sent by the school.

I got my OAU ECA 14 months agos. At that time, the pressure was not this intense. My brother obtained it on my behalf and sent it through courier. They obliged him because he was a Phd student and was very persuasive. They verified my certificate by email which made the whole turnaround time about 4 -5 weeks.

The officer(s) who will respond to the verification went on strike(Senior Staff), they just resumed on Monday. My advice is for you to go to the transcript office there and explain your situation. Get someone who will help expedite the response, establish a rapport with him/her so you can get the response to the verification by hand and send it yourself by courier.

My initial assessement from OAU was quite fast owing to their reputation and relationship with WES. I'm stuck at the verification stage and its taking forever for Yabatech to respond, any insights?

When being assessed by EA, what determines the equivalence of your Nigerian degree to either Australian bachelors degree or Associate degree? Is it the duration of your course or the content of your Career Episodes? I am concerned because i need the 15 points. Thanks

If you uploaded your passport bio data page during registration paid your fees online successfully, you can expect a payment receipt in a two or three days at the latest. Then, you wouldn't need to submit your documents at IELTS. You can expect a test notification just like Damkollins explained.
However, if you choose to pay offline using a bank draft and/ or you didnt upload your identity document during online registration, you'll have to submit your disc to BC in person. I hope this answers your question.

My CRS Score is 336. Guys please lets know your CRS. Your friend with 415 would has a job offer or would have probably worked or his spouse worked in Canada before and has PHD and less than 28 years old. lol

My score is 365. I could have obtained my PR before this EE regime but unfortunately, I've been a victim of circumstance and wrong timing. I just have to take it in stride and forge ahead. I pray we sail through eventually.
As for my friend, sorry his actual score is 412 He is 38 years old with 14 years experience, two Masters degrees and an impeccable IELTS result. He also has a brother in Canada.

Is thr anyone with a CRS overall score above 400? The way CIC is going about this thing, hope they aint going to peg invitations at 400! How can they dangle around 453 for 2 months....dem know no say our blood dey hot!

To top it all off, My owns score just dropped by 5 points. Make dem do better abeg. My friend has a score 0f 415. He's worried sick. i cant kill myself joor.

I just created my EE profile yesterday and I started swimming in the pool few minutes afterwards. @all, i finally got my ielts result today. L(8.5) R(9.0) W(7) S(6.5) Overall Band Score 8.0. Big disappointment cos it is not useful for its intended purpose. I need all bands to be a minimum of 7.0. The good part is that i don't need it until about 6 months time so i'm currently weighing my options.

I think the poor Speaking score might be down to my relatively short prep time, under 3 weeks and i was busy with other things at the same time.

Now i have a better idea what Ferdimako was going thru all this while.

This was exactly my score, except that my R and L were flipped. You really tried. i somehow feel they are doing this on purpose. I have decided to do PTE, these BC guys are just milking us Nigerians. I recommend u do the same

Nigerian degrees are recognised, mine was assessed by Engineers Australia as equivalent to the Australian Bachelors degree (Professional Engineer - Skill level 1) , several others on this thread have had similar outcomes from their assessing authorities.

Hello Spiggy, pls how long did it take to get your MSA from EA. I just submitted my application for EA yesterday and im trying to beat a deadline in June. I read about their 13 week turnaround but I'm hoping it'll be shorter.
