I blame the opposition in that country for Jammeh's action. They threatened him with fire and brimstone and still wants him to handover to the president elect. |
You people should stop posting all this prophecy stuff on front page. Enough abeg. |
An interesting read. I think we need more volunteers in this field. First responders like paramedic guys are very important in emergency management. Please can anyone here tell me where I can get skills to render help in an emergency instead of taking pictures and watching people struggle for their last breath. I'll gladly make out time to learn. There's this feeling of accomplishment that compares to none when I'm engaged in a life saving activity. |
THE REASON “The cost of printing N50 is almost the same as N1,000. Printing small denominations costs more than the value, and with the present economic situation, it makes sense to print higher notes, which can be done locally by the NSPM,” one of the sources explained." THE IMPLICATION implication of the situation was that prices of goods were likely to increase since there were no smaller currencies in circulation. He said, “A bread seller is likely to increase the cost of bread from N350 to N400 simply because he does not want to deal with the difficult task of getting change. “The same goes for a bus conductor and so forth. This act alone is enough to add to the hardship of the average Nigerians; N10 or N50 may not mean anything to some, but it means a whole lot to millions of Nigerians living in poverty. So the government should do something about this.” GOVERNMENT'S USUAL RESPONSE There is no scarcity of smaller denomination notes in the market. People are complaining because we did not make provision for mints to be supplied in smaller denominations during the festive season. “You see, people are fond of abusing these denominations by spraying them to be stepped on during weddings and other ceremonies. The abuse is even worse during the festive season; so, we decided to make scarce the denominations. But it’s not that we have not been printing them. “Yes, we haven’t printed abroad but we also print locally, which we have been doing.” |

kcnwaigbo:There are two things involved in a bill becoming an act. 1. Either the president assents after both chambers have concurred on the bill or the NASS decide to override the presidents power of assent by vetoing it. What I'm sure of is that this NASS will not thread the path of the latter. Not on a controversial bill such as amendment of CCT Act. So, the bill is DOA just like the NABRO bill. The op has discussed the legality of the bill. Thanks sir |
No need for argument on this issue. Mr. President will NEVER assent to this bill. And I repeat NEVER. The toothless national assembly cannot veto it. Shey national assembly that refused to veto there own NABRO bill ![]() |
It's a pity there's no childcare structure in this country. NGO's should pls find the girl before someone makes her wife no. 14 |
It's a good news for Nigerians and the parents of the abducted girls. After all that's what sincere Nigerians want. Just wonder why some people choose not to want to believe |
Please go for check up regularly to avert sudden death. |

What a waste. And the state will be complaining of not having funds to pay salaries. Smh for Nigeria. |
"The first major demonstration held on November 29 and 30, 1947. Many women took part. As they neared the Alake’s palace, she commanded the marchers to stop, closed her eyes and told them that all those who were afraid should leave while her eyes were closed. None withdrew. They maintained vigil during which they sang abusive songs." |

I think there should be advocacy on other methods of having babies like legal adoption. If there is no demand there can't be supply. |
Afam4eva:That's exactly my point. Kogi people voted for Audu/Faleke and not Bello. It's pure common sense. This means the people will be getting a governor they didn't vote for. This means some polling units will deliver a governor for the majority. |
Just imagine! what makes a committee "juicy"? Impunity has finally taken a new dimension. |
I'm in support of medical examination for intending corp members. Some are not built for such daily rigorous routines subjected to while on camp. Rest in Peace Dear. |

Is it church money or his personal money? Hmmm...churches now command billions while the needy continue to wallow in abject poverty. |
Reading some comments here confirms the fact that some people just prefer leadership of cluelessness that ensures their wretchedness to a statesman-like leadership that pursues people-oriented policies and actions |
