PoliticsRe: Offa Bank Robbery: Nigerians At The Mercy Of Killers – Fayose by seanswitch(m): 3:25pm On Apr 08, 2018
I wonder why a government like Kwara or the police department don't have an helicopter for emergencies like what happened at Offa. Imagine the police department sending calvary from Ilorin, that's more than 1 hour from Offa to address the situation in Offa. Such a shame on this country.

This is a better reportage of the events by Punch. Not the sugar and honey sensationalism by hungry traffic seeking bloggers that we saw on front page yesterday.

when an exconvict returns back from prison, does he still have to live under the shadow of the crime he has already paid time for or be given the tools that would help him lay his hands on something meaningful as he turns a new leaf? #judgenot
Exactly my thought. Prisons are correctional institutions that should help remold convicts.

The society however makes living out of prison impossible for convicts because of stigma and laws.

That's why most convicts end up back in prisons because that's the only place they fit in.

pls how did you control it?
1. I counter whatever anyone sends to me with proof that it's false. And warn against spreading lies.

This has turned me to a kind of Google on issues that are contentious. People ask to know if a message is through when they receive such.

2. I sent a message to all those who send such to me and warned them to desist else be blocked.

Like I said before, I have zero tolerance for nonsense.

God bless you for this.

I have been able to control all my contacts on this issue though. They know I have zero tolerance for nonsense and hence exclude me from their broadcast.

Before a song is released into the society, i expect NBC officials to listen to it first and then decide if it is suitable or not...but here they ban after such songs have enjoyed massive downloads and play at clubs. Common sense is not common in Nigeria
I'm not sure they have the right to ban people from singing about what they like. The best they can do is to prevent it been aired.

naptu2:
UAC was the largest non-oil company in Nigeria in the 1970s, ‘80s and early 1990s. The two most important business executives in Nigeria at that time were the M.D. of Shell (the largest oil company) and the Chairman of UAC (the largest non-oil company). They were almost like presidents. One of them, Chief Ernest Shonekan (Chairman of UAC in the 1980s and early 1990s) even became Head of State of Nigeria. The company was huge and (at various times) included the following subsidiaries:

1) A.J. Seward ( "for skin, hair and body care" ) : They made hair creams, body creams and lotions, face powders and other beauty products.

2) Kingsway Department Stores: They had the largest supermarket and mall chain in Nigeria.

3) Kingsway Chemists: A chain of pharmacies that was spread right across Nigeria.

4) UAC Foods: This included Kingsway Rendezvous (now known as Mr Biggs), Gala Sausage Rolls, Wall's Ice Cream, Spring Waters Nigeria Ltd (makers of SWAN Water, Gossy Water and SWAN soft drinks), etc.

5) UAC Motors: GM Nigeria (Bedford, Chevrolet and Isuzu), Federated Motors Industries Ltd (locally made Bedford trucks) and Niger Motors.

6) Bordpak Ltd (packaging).

7) Premier Packaging Ltd.

8 ) UAC Technical Ltd: Industrial machines and huge electricity generators.

9) G.B. Olivant: Trading company.

10) UAC Property Development Company: They own 1004 Estate, Golden Tulip Hotel (formerly Dubar Hotel), Abebe Court Ikoyi, etc.

11) Grand Cereals: Grand Pure Soya Oil, etc.

12) MDS Logistics: Wharehouses, haulage, distribution, etc.

13) Chemical and Allied Products Limited (CAPL) : Dulux and Caplux paints, etc.

14) African Timber and Plywood Ltd.

15) West African Cold Storage.

This company has directly or indirectly produced several very wealthy families including the Abebes, the Dantatas, the Dangotes, the Murray-Bruces and the Shonekans.

UAC has helped to nurture the fortunes of some of Nigeria's wealthiest families.

1) Dantata/Dangote: Alhassan Dantata's business got a big boost when he got contracts to supply UAC (Royal Niger Company) groundnuts, kola nuts, etc.

2) Murray-Bruce: Mulligan Murray-Bruce (Ben Bruce's father) was a UAC executive who did so well that upon retiring he was given Domino Stores to run.

3) Abebe: Sir Christopher Abebe (Stella Obasanjo's father) was Chairman of UAC (also Chairman of Nigerian Breweries) in the 1970s. He did so well, that several UAC and Nigerian Breweries facilities are named after him (Abebe Village, Igamu).

In the picture below are the logo of the Royal Niger Company, UAC's first logo and UAC's current logo (which was adopted in the 2000s). The logo in the middle is my favourite.
Nice info naptu2.

These people have perfected the act of passing on wealth and affluence to their children and cronies.

Little wonder a recent research in America revealed that the easiest way to make it is to be born to rich parents or marry into a rich family.

It's one sided world folks.

Report to Police headquarter in your area, go with your Receipt, Lost Phone Cartoon (IMEI at the back ) and they will collect #15,000 to help you track.. They have tracking device at the Police Headquarter to track it.
Though some people won't believe but what's up here is true. Thieves entered my house and stole my phone. Three months after my friend in Sokoto Police Department came on holiday and I told him how I lost my phone. I didn't even have the IMEI number. All I gave him was my phone number. Surprisingly, two days after he got to Sokoto, he called to give me the new number using my phone now.
I took up the investigation and tracked the guys with the two phones, arrested them myself and took them to the nearest divisional station.

Though over 8 months on, the police have not been able to close the case and I've opted out of the annoying court process.

I have one of my phone back and I'm glad the police now have the capacity to track phones effectively.

IDEKEALUMONA:
If Yusuf Buhari comes to your house and a poor barrow pusher comes to your house, would you in all honesty treat them the same way?
The reason for their visit in your scenario is different.
If Yusuf comes to my house, it's definitely on visit and I'll accord him the treatment due to him.

If a barrow pusher comes to my house, it's either he's at my house to work or he needs help. If it's to work, I'll give him the wages due to him and treat him with utmost respect. If it's for help, I'll give him what I can afford and still treat him with utmost respect because he is human.

But in the scenario in this thread, the hospital is a public place established to cater for the sick no matter their status. And the oath the doctors take preaches it too.

I know what am saying,if the man happens to be a public figure or a wealthy person in the society, they wouldn't treat him like a trash. Those people that took him to the hospital probably knew that he was still breathing. Some doctors can be heartless.
It is even wrong to treat anyone like that.
The hospital could have offered to take the corpse to a nearby morgue with their ambulance. Just something to show empathy.
And moreover, even if he was dead before arriving at the hospital, people won't just conclude, they will try their luck by verifying.
CelebritiesRe: Lagos Hospital Segun Arinze Said Rejected Accident Victim React, release Photos(p by seanswitch(m): 6:07am On Mar 09, 2018
Something is definitely wrong with our Healthcare system in Nigeria. I get it that medical people here have are defending the action of the hospital but my question is this. Would the hospital have treated Yusuf Buhari like that even if the blind can see that he is dead. Would they have confirmed if he is alive at the gate of the hospital? If the answer is No. Then this country is not for all of us.

We should all learn to obey standard safety procedures and insure properties too. Especially our source of income.

PoliticsRe: NNPC: Nigeria Now World’s Largest Petrol Importer by seanswitch(m): 7:24am On Mar 02, 2018
They should just take Nigeria to T. B Joshua.

The much touted revival of the sector by this administration has failed to yield anything meaningful. In fact its like we are in a deeper mess.

Six largest producer of a product and first largest importer of same product. In fact it's a shame to us.

We are not even importing to store in our reserves like America is doing.

But wait o, as the largest importer there's still fuel scarcity.

How much are traffic wardens paid. There was a guy in Ilorin that joined the traffic department some years ago. He was neat, had clean and new clothes. These days, after like 3-4yrs, you could see the obvious frustration on the guys face and lack of job satisfaction. Most of them don't get promoted past the Sergeant cadre all through their career. Such a pity.

Forget the conference in Benin excuse he simply does not want to attend the meeting. This shows his own political agenda is not in tune with theirs.
And what about Edo Governor Obaseki. He was with Saraki at the Conference and a host of other senators.
From what I know the Edo conference wasn't just cooked up recently. Much went into planning and inviting members of the International community to grace the event.

Our journalists are too lazy to carry out investigation, Saraki is in Benin city since yesterday attending a summit on human trafficking initiated by the National Assembly.
People just want to demonize this man
I looked through the front page and all I see is people who don't know what's up in their country.

While your APC bigwigs are planning for 2019, Saraki the smart guy is in Edo discussing the migration issue and meeting people trafficked out of this country illegally and trying to find sa solution to the menace.

That's what smart politicians do.

Thanks for bringing it up bro.
