Politics / Abia Airport Fund: Nobody Can Question My Decision To Reverse Project — Ikpeazu by Metrix147: 8:15am On May 16
The immediate-past governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has finally responded to the allegation of diverting N10bn meant for the construction of an airport in Aba, saying as someone with executive power at that time, no one can question his decision not to go ahead with the project.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0kvNgj5crw

While admitting that the sum of N10bn was earmarked for the construction of an airport to boost commercial life in Aba, the former governor in an interview monitored by our correspondent said he realized that roads to the major markets in the city were in a bad state, making interconnection difficult.

"So we decided to suspend the airport project. Today when people talk about the money for the airport and all that, it's as if they are questioning my decision to change my mind and I had right at that time to say I don't want this airport now.

"Because of you land at the airport, where are you going to? You can't go to Ariaria. We had to change the status quo at that time and I am happy that I finished Eziukwu Road from that fund, I finished Faulks road from that fund, Ngwa Road is okay, and Osusu Road is okay.

"So today you can connect Ariaria through Osusu road, to Eziukwu market and connect Eziukwu road to Ngwa market. I succeeded in interconnecting all the markets, courtesy of that fund which we were supposed to construct an airport", he explained.

According to the former governor, if his administration had gone ahead with that project, the sum of N10bn wouldn't have completed it, saying it would have amounted to tying the money as some airports in the country are not viable.

He also dismissed allegations that the fund was diverted to about 32 accounts, insisting that those who received money from the funds were contractors who carried out various projects and they were less than 32.

He also challenged the incumbent government to follow the trail to check if a dime was diverted to an individual's account from the N10bn.

He listed other projects completed from that fund to include, Faulks Road, Eziukwu Road, Ejike Lane, Milverton Avenue, and so many others.

Family / Drink From Your Own Well. by Darevofpeace(m): 8:04am On May 16
When my wife and I first got married and I had not recovered from the initial "gragra" (that overwhelming excitement of marrying someone you love), It was as if there was no other woman in existence aside her. No matter how beautiful another woman is, I wouldn't even notice. I spent most of my time with her, and I spent the few hours I was away from her to talk about her to the people around me. The babalawo wey do that juju for my wife sabi work 😃🤣😄

I'm sure no woman would agree to associate with me as of that time because I talk about my wife for a living. Imagine having a conversation with a lady for the first time, and all I have to say to her is "My wife this, my wife that"😄😃🤣
The lady would definitely get irritated. Meanwhile, I wasn't intentionally doing that to provoke others, I was too excited about getting married to the love of my life, I couldn't help it but talk about her always.

About 2 years later, when marriage challenges and responsibilities had increased, and I had recovered from the initial gragra, I discovered that, once again, I had tolerance for associating with other ladies and if I give too much chance, there's possiblity of developing feelings for another woman.

This began to bother me because I had made up my mind that I would be faithful to my wife. So, I decided to talk to one of my mentors. He's an elderly man with an enviable marriage and a serving Pastor in RCCG.

I went to his office one day and I asked him one question..."Sir, you have been married for more than 15 years, have you ever cheated on your wife?"

He took a deep breath and said "By the grace of God, I have never cheated on my wife"

Me: Sir, how did you do it? I am only two years married and I have started noticing other fine girls around. Sir, do you walk with your eyes closed?

He smiled and said: John, you must understand that no man is invincible. Personally, there were times that I have had to deal with strong temptations, I would have even fallen if not for God that has been helping me.

Me: Now surprised..."Sir, you don't mean it"

He continued "There's a young lady here in my place of work that is sexually appealing to me. Surprisingly, this lady is also obviously fond of me. She's always looking for opportunity to be close to me"

He put his hands on his table and said "There were times I had imagined inviting her into my office, lock all the windows and door and have a quick one with her on this my office table. In fact, I had thought of how sweet it'll be. The funny thing is, my wife also works here. Trust me John, if I tell my wife that we should have sex on this table, she wouldn't say no, but it seemed to me like sex with my wife on this table wouldn't be as pleasurable and adventurous as sex with this lady I'm telling you about"

Me: Wow

He: The thing is, satan has a way of deceiving men to believe that sex with women other than their wives will be more pleasurable, but in reality, it is a big lie from the pit of hell. That's why the book of Proverbs 9:17 says “Stolen water is sweet, And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”

"John, the fact that you love your wife does not mean you'll not be tempted by other women, but the Holy Spirit is an enabler. In as much as the spirit of God still dwells in you, you'll always overcome".

I thanked him, we prayed together and I left.

Dear married men, it is possible to find another woman attractive, but do not let the devil fool you, your wife is enough for you. THERE'S NO PLEASURE ANOTHER WOMAN CAN OFFER THAT IS NOT IN YOUR WIFE. Remember that the word of God says every man must drink from his own well (Proverbs 5:15). Also, Proverbs 5:18 says "So be happy with your wife and find your joy with the woman you married" (GNB). Contentment is a great gain.

There's a prayer point that married men should not joke with..."Lord, let my wife be enough for me in all aspects".

For as many of us that desire to be faithful to our spouse, may God release His grace upon us in the mighty name of Jesus.

DrTee1:

Thank you very much, Brother/Sister.

The big question is: how do those "mold-breakers" get into power?

Let's not talk about anything undemocratic. As far as I know, democracy breeds the best form of participatory governance and I am entirely against anything that suggests otherwise.

So in such depraved society as this, the originating question persists: how do the change agents get into power?

Mind you, it is not getting into power at the Federal level like Obi's style o? No. They have to get into power across board i.e 50+1% of elective offices all over the country in order to have the democratic number required to make the changes necessary in public administration.

Mind you, the Industrialised Countries of the world are really uninterested in Nigeria and Southern Hemispheric countries economic independence and sustainability. The IMF and WTO, for example, are institutions to maintain the global economic imbalance. There are already great challenges in Europe and America over the Chinese and Russian economic might.

They are never going to be interested in such in Africa, and would in turn influence our capacity to think by giving our corrupt leaders free money that is in turn multiplied by the exchange rate - which would help them win every election conducted in this 'line up at polling booth' style. That's where people can easily, or readily 'buy' votes.

I'm unimpressed by the noise in the media: all the three major parties essentially rigged or suppressed/incapacitated opposition votes in their areas of strength.

So we must dig deep to bring ourselves out of our political and socio-economic quagmire. I think that educating the people is one of the important tools to achieve that.

I thank you for your positive contributions this morning.

How to get out of the quagmire is to get the generality of the population to push in the same direction and hold leaders at all levels to account (easier said than done though).

I don't really subscribe to the East-West debate about the East being less explotative than the west. Any industrialised nation would always seek to do what's best for its own economy. In fact, our own politicians are far more explotative than any foreign government.

Nigeria has failed to follow tried and trusted patterns of transitioning from a traditional society to a developed one because we place more value on parochial affiliations than productivity and I say this down to intra state levels. We have very narrow outlooks on issues.

We are trying to modernise without evolving our traditions, perceptions and values. It can't work. Even China, as traditional as it is, has had to evolve itself to become what it is today.

Everyday, we hear about our massive natural resources, yet we don't know those who exploit them. Today they say foreigners, tomorrow they say bandits... yet, no one is arrested and prosecuted.

Also, there is need to review our electoral system. There is a proposal some of us have been trying to sell, but of course, a lot of resistance to it. It would make elections performance based and is unlike any other electoral system in the world. Hopefully one day, it would come to fruition.

Romance / Re: Girls At The Age Of 18-24 Years Always Attract Serious Men Who Are Fully Ready by BigBashiru: 7:23am On May 16
IyaTola:
Albert Okey

DELAY IN MARRIAGE
Girls at the age of 18-24 years always attract serious men who are fully ready to marry them, but at this age most of our girls/sisters never wish to hear anything about marriage.
1. I'm too young for that.
2. Who cares about marriage.
3. I'm focused on my books.
4. I want to gather some money first.
5. Marriage is full of problems.
These are some of few statements ladies talk of at their youth age.
But these girls will be having serious & series of sex relationship with small boys of their age, because at that age, they always have high rate of boys, guys and men coming for them, but they will prefer to choose those boys rather than the real men who want to marry them. They are still young to marry right, but they are not young to have sex with boys.
No problem, God is watching you.

At age of 25-27, parents will start asking them the following questions;
1. How far?
2. Don't you have any one yet ?
3. Are you not planning to get married ?
4. Are you seeing that all your mates are getting married ?
5. Don't you know you are getting old?
But mind you, parents only see the outside of their daughters, not knowing there is nothing left inside.
With all these questions by her own parents, she will now be thinking and asking herself things like: My mates are marrying,
1. Does it mean am old enough to marry?
2. Hmmm, how should I go about it?
3. My boyfriends are not serious about asking my hand in marriage.
4. They are not even ready to marry yet.
5. Well, Allāh knows the best. I believe in Allāh.
See oooh...!, she has started putting her blame on God. "Allāh's time is the best" OK, I agree for argument sake.
At age 27-30 they now start looking for men to marry not boys to have sex and play with again.
They will start looking for serious relationship that will lead to marriage, but unfortunately, at this age of 27-30 not all men will be asking their hand in marriage.

You will see them forcing themselves to marry a man who don't want to marry them. Please we beg you, leave us alone.
No single man at age 27-30 will like to marry a lady of 30-35. Now you hear the sisters say age does not matter.
My sister, it matters a lot.
Imagine buying a rotten tomato for $10 and your friend buys a fresh one for $7. Yes, that's how it feels like in marriage too.
Remember you rejected men because you think you were too young. What makes you think your old age does not matter to us?
That's why some men go back to their villages to find young girl to marry when the city ones are not serious about marriage and those that are serious happen to be old for them.
At age 30-35, her friends will ask her:
1. Why are you not married yet by this age of yours?
2. Is it not getting too late for you ?
You will hear her asking you some silly questions like...
1. Are you Allāh?
2. Or do you want to marry me?
3. Is it a crime to be single at 30 or 35?
4. Did I see a man willing to marry me but I refused?
5. Allāh knows the best for everyone please.
At age 30-35 they will start praying like never before, moving from one church to another. If she's a Muslim, she will start praying night prayers, fasting and dressing modestly.
If you ask her for dating, she would burst out to say:
1. My brother, I'm not like them.
2. Am looking for a serious man, a husband not dating.
3. If you truly love me go and see my parents for marriage.
4. I can't do anything with you without my parents concern.

Dear parents, they have started knowing your worth. When she was 18-24, she was doing everything without considering you as parents.
You don't expect a young man of 27-30 to marry you of 30-35 as his house wife when there are younger pretty girls out there.
Even if he chooses to ignore your age and marry you, his family and friends will discriminate you.
Men that will be interested to marry you will be of 45 yrs and above and mind you, those men are married with kids except you wanna be second or third wife.
Everything in life has its own season and time.
There's no lady at age 30-35 seeking for marriage who haven't been approached during 18-24. But by then, they were busily jumping from clubs/parties to hotel rooms looking for FUN not MARRIAGE.
Not everything is about prayer. Allāh who created you has made a plan for you. But when you change the plan or miss the road, please don't disturb the peace of Allāh. Because, He will be busy planning for your younger sister.
Why do we have high rate of single mothers and single ladies? Does it mean there no men but only boys?
Thousands of working class ladies are out there confirmed single. Your Master's of PhD is ZERO without a husband.

Yes, Education is key but don't neglect a marriage proposal all in the name of your studies. Both of you are matured enough to wait if you're serious of getting married.
It's never too late to ask for forgiveness or have a second thought of mind. For our God is a merciful and gracious Lord.
Change your mind..

Just marry the old one then while married sleep wiv the young ones that dont want to settle down. Problem solved.

You spoke of rotten tomatoes at $10 vs fresh ones at $7.

These young girls cheated on their future husbands by giving away their bodies for free to various guys and at old age expect the so called husband to stick with only her. Who no like better thing? It would be foolish of a married man not to hv side chicks. Its the just thing to do
