It is absolutely sad!

For the records, it is symptomatic of the general degradation of societal values in the country as a whole, as the same can be said for every other ethnic group in Nigeria.

We have lost our way as a people and the govt needs to actively reverse this rot by engaging in mass national reorientation initiatives.
Very sad, indeed!

I also heard father mention the saying by indigbo which goes thus, "Ezigbo Afa ka Ego" what ever happens to that saying i don't know.

Yes, i agree, these recent rotten behaviours are not just confined to Indigbo, however, it is too late now to reverse it, the rot has gotten too deep into the society, especially thesedays of social media fake extravagant lifestyles that are displayed on social media.

My Igbo brethren must introspect and ask ourselves why we think it's okay to push drugs or produce counterfeit medicines and alcohol.

This making money at all costs mentality needs to die cos its very shameful at this point.

Where are our core cultural values as ndi Igbo?

Why are the elders quiet about these despicable acts that have brought sorrow and shame to numerous families?

It's abhorrent to think that some families even encourage their wards to make money at all costs.

It's a crying shame what Igbo land has become due to unbridled love for wealth without enterprise!
Absolutely, During my growing up days, i always heard that Indigbo are the most hardworking, trusthworthy and truthfull people, Igbo people were known as misers and stingy folks, due to their value and respect for an honest wealth acquisitions, they were known for not wasting money extravagantly, parents encouraged their youths to acquire honest wealth hence they did what was called apprentice in trading for 5 or more years with their "Oga" when finally they are "setlled" by their "Oga" they d start their own shop or business, and carry on with the "Oga" trade and apprentice system. My father always mentioned a saying by Indigbo which says, Ezigbo Afa ka Ego. Whatever happens to that saying.

But thesedays i fail to understand what has happened to indigbo to become this scamming. Untrustwothy, lying, extravagant lifestyle money wasting, quick money making obssessed people.

And these extravagant lifestyles are what drives youths into crimes. If people lives and spends within their earning means they wouldn't go into quick wealth acquisition.

Wonders shall never end! Bobrisky is nothing but a giant blue whale size disgrace to his family and generation unborn,if he/she ever has intention of having children.
As we Igbos say" Nwa nza na erebi ukwu ,o si na o bu mmanu ka o na aña( The Nza that is decaying alive, thinks it's oozing oil)
Our great and wise Nollywood filmmaker Ugezu asked " How can a man win an award for the best dressed female,in a concert organised by Human Beings?
I second his wisdom filled statement.
It simply means that the organisers are animals or less than animals, celebrating their fellow animal.
The Word of God never lies.
BECAUSE THAT, WHEN THEY KNEW GOD, THEY GLORIFIED HIM NOT AS GOD, NEITHER WERE THANKFUL; BUT BECAME VAIN IN THEIR IMAGINATIONS, AND THEIR FOOLISH HEART WAS DARKENED ( 21)
(22).PROFESSING THEMSELVES WISE, THEY BECAME FOOLS.
23. AND CHANGED THE GLORY OF THE INCORRUPTIBLE GOD INTO AN IMAGE MADE LIKE TO CORRUPTIBLE MAN, AND TO BIRDS, AND FOUR FOOTED BEASTS, AND CREEPING THINGS.
24. WHEREFORE GOD ALSO GAVE THEM UP TO UNCLEANNESS THROUGH THE LUSTS OF THEIR OWN HEARTS, TO DISHONOUR THEIR OWN BODIES BETWEEN THEMSELVES ( ROMANS 1:21-24)
The spirit of a Reprobate Mind has taken over the world and sunk deeply into the societal fabric.
National governments are signing laws legalizing shameful and abominable acts and practices, normal humans should be ashamed of.
Homosexuals are now openly contesting political offices especially in developing nations.
A homosexual man won recently the office of head of Syrizia party in Greece, and goes by the name of Stefanos Kasselakis.
He's even aiming for the position of Prime Minister.
Paolo Rondelli is a diplomat and politician who served as Captain Regent of San Marino from 1 April to 1 October 2022.
He's the world's first openly gay Head of State.
There are yet more of these abominable beings in political offices.

If you met the girl as Class A, then you are at the mercy of the bride's father. Anything the man and his kinsmen demand, you won't even have the negotiating power to tell them No outrightly.
The only things you and your kinsmen will be able to say is "We will see what we can do", "Mazi, Emela ka o siere anyị ike"

*Mallam Olawale Rasheed – The Man Oyetola Is Scared Of | By Ayodele Toluwalase*

Who is scared of MOR, the Spokesman of His Excellency, Governor Adeleke of Osun State? Why should MOR be nailed for doing his job? Who does not want to see the dint of professionalism and integrity on whatever MOR does as a spokesman? Of course, it is a general believe that as long as we still breathe and live in this sinful world, we cannot escape having those who don’t see things the way we see them. Even, the Holy book confirms it: “seest thou a man who is diligent in his work, he shall sit before the kings and not mere men.”

Yes, MOR has been dining with the kings before now and is still dining with his pen, which is a mighty tool because his antecedents spoke for him.

Talking about his roles in the past, here is a man who has been diligent in his works and duties. As a man who understands that greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively, MOR epitomizes the virtues of success, hard work and diligence. So, I can say that, in the search of spokesman with a Midas touch to turn things around, Governor Adeleke is blessed having the Iwo born image-maker.

MOR, in his role as spokesperson for the governor, has been strategic in understanding what to say and how to say it. In the best way he can, he has been doing his job and promoting the governor. So, who is hell-bent in pulling the good man down?

From what is in the public domain, Mallam Rasheed has been seen as a seasoned journalist, a professional media personality that is resolute, reliable and proactive in his style of image-making. As the mouthpiece of His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, he has remained focused and made his boss proud.

Personally, I applaud his wisdom, prolific commitment, which he has shown in discharging his duties professionally. He is a media figure who has paid his dues and can still be regarded as a beacon of inspiration to the younger generation in this field of Public Relations.

Undoubtedly, in his capacity as spokesman, Olawale Rasheed has succeeded in raising Governor Adeleke’s brand to all high from the day of inauguration to the present moment. It is not difficult to trace the efforts of MOR in the management of information pertaining to his Boss. His bullish approach to perfecting his duty, as far as spokesmanship is concerned, is greatly commendable. I make bold to say that Mallam is made of steel and can't be cowed to go in the direction he does not believe in.

Now, let me briefly delve into the fisticuff that has since lingered between the former governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and the present governor, Mr Adeleke and I will conclude based on the fact that Oyetola is messing with the wrong person in MOR. It is obvious that whenever there is a change of administration, brickbat must ensue for a while. It indeed played out in Osun State when Adeleke took over the reins of power from Oyetola and, since then, it has been from one fight to another. The spokespersons of the two figures continued to exchange words and there have accusations and counter-accusations, which are normal happenings in the political circle.

The Yoruba people will say: ‘Ti a ba nle’ni, ti a o ba’ni, a o ye ka pada leyin eni ni.’ The quoted expression explains the fact that ‘when one runs after a person and fails to meet him, one should succumb and accept fate.

This is a similar scenario, which has played out between the camp of Oyetola and Adeleke. It boils down to the fact that the former governor is yet to yield to fate by accepting defeat. Oyetola has not realized he needs to disembark on the pull-down syndrome journey because it won’t work.

Adeleke has won the election with the support of the people who practically gave him the mandate for four years and he has moved on. As we all know, he has continued to rule the state with the fear of God and to the best of his capability.
So, what is wrong in that and why are those people who have decided in their minds to continue to live in the past still hell-bent in hurling criticisms at the good governance Adeleke is delivering in Osun State? And the question arises again: why is the former governor, who is now the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, trying to target MOR to hit his boss? Does he want to stop MOR from facing his assignments squarely? Does he want MOR to fail as Adeleke’s spokesman?

The MOR that we know is a thorough professional who understands his right and will go to any length to defend same. He is a renowned journalist of international repute. He has faced countless intimidation in the course of his illustrious career and each time he has emerged victorious, he will never cow to intimidation neither will he relent in his bid to defend his boss no matter whose ox is gored.

Hello everyone, I've been following the thread recently. Funmi Adams' songs really had an impact on some of us that grew up in the 80s and 90s. I really hope she is happy and in good health, it is more than she deserves for inspiring a generation.
Are there any leads on her rumoured return back to Nigeria?
This thread brings back fond memories of my childhood in the 80s and early 90s. The local songs we listened to were great, not like the mostly empty rhymes our singers push out today for our children to hear. This thread about Funmi Adams reminds me of another female singer of the time, Bunmi Olajubu( Bata re a dun ko ko ka, Save Nigeria Today, etc.)
