if you are abroad and your passport gets expired during your stay there, what will you do?
either you apply for passport through your embassy ( that's if you no follow through window enter that county)
Or you can board a plane directly to your country, which most countries do.
But if you go through deportation method! That country will never accept you again

What Air peace and Onyeama should do is copy what Nigerian Airways did back in the 90s
Double the luggage allowance

Nigerians will buy your tickets over foreign Airlines for the sake of the luggage allowance alone

Nigerians can pack load for Africa
Nice one but they have to compare with the type of plane and the payload it can safely carry, or else some nigerians go pack 300kg worth of goods

Travel / Onyema, Air Peace CEO Says FAAN Officials Frustrated London Return Flight by thunder74(m): 7:14am On Apr 09
Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr Allen Onyema has revealed that when Air Peace returned from its maiden flight to London, some staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) tried all they could to force its aircraft to land at a rejected part of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA Lagos, far from the port’s new terminal.

Onyema noted that such action would have exposed passengers to difficulties, saying it would have taken them hours to get to the terminal building.

Speaking on The Morning Show, an Arise TV programme, he said despite the fact that “C-23 at the new terminal was free for use, the officials chose to reserve it for a foreign carrier at the expense of an indigenous carrier.
When our aircraft landed, thank God I was there because this thing had happened before. Let me excuse the leadership of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku; and the Director of Air Operations, Captain Abdullahi Mahmood, both are doing fantastically well.

“The wickedness in the system is stinking. The only indigenous carrier doing international air operations in Nigeria landed and it was kept somewhere in the bush, a disused side of the airport. They expect us to use rickety buses to take international passengers to the new terminal which the international airlines rejected when it was opened.
“For those on that plane which landed yesterday, it would have taken about six hours for people to exit the airport. They put us near the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, NAHCO, which is very far. And nobody is using that end. No aircraft, not even foreign or local.

Meanwhile, C-23 at the new terminal was open for use.
“When my captain called, he was told that it was reserved for a foreign airline at the expense of a Nigerian airline. Our aircraft, coming from London, was to be parked in one bush about two kilometres to our terminal.

Can you imagine the time it would take us to take people from there to the terminal building? It would have taken about nine hours and Nigerians would have hated Air Peace because they wouldn’t know what brought about the situation.

“There are internal conspiracies within Nigeria. Some Nigerians are praying that we fail, but the good thing is that nobody is God.

Do you know what I did? I called my operations control centre, who could reach the pilot. I told him to tell the pilot to block the taxiway. It was when British Airways landed that they started making moves to tell us to go to where we rightly belong.

Lol. I will choose air peace direct flights because when i use ethiopia 2007 the flight from Nigeria were majorly Nigerians. The vibes, plane was smaller, just 2 per seat. music and tv channels, food were Nigerians.

The the connecting place has 3 role’s seat. Biger and over crowded. To the extent I wasn’t feeling the air conditioner anymore. The movie changed. Fewer Nigerians with arabs everywhere. They marginalized Nigerians inside the flight. Nothing about black or Nigerians matter inside.
Travel / Re: Price War: Ethiopian Airlines On Lagos -london Route Now Cheaper Than Air Peace by OALandAgents: 2:18am On Apr 08
That is why I decided years ago to only fly black owned airlines and I don't care whether it means the journey takes 48hours.
I have to say I have taken KLM and Lufansa in the past and any lowering of service quality was never as stark or extreme as what I experienced with Ethiopia Airline flying into Enugu. Although those European airlines do usually charge significantly more than Ethiopia Airline.
Slytiger:

Most of the airlines do this. If you fly KLM, Lufthansa or Air France to the US or Canada where two big planes are required for both the the Lagos to Europe then Europe to North America leg, the Lagos to Europe flight would be an older plane and quality of service would be poorer than the Europe to North America leg which would also have a newer plane.

Just like you me mentioned, could be something to do more with competition. There are way more different airlines flying to North America from Europe so they need to up their game. They are the only ones felting to Enugu like you mentioned so they don't care. Racism crosses my mind but I dont have enough proof to determine if that's the case.

OALandAgents:
I flew Ethiopian airlines in 2018 London to Enugu, it was way cheaper than any other foreign airline going into Nigeria, but they still took advantage of us in that the service and quality of meals and airplane was much higher in the London-Addis Ababa portion of the flight, than the Addis Ababa-Enugu portion.
The Airplane they used to fly to Enugu after the layover in Ethiopia was visibly old and unkempt, with no tv screen or audio visual entertainment.
The meal was plain rice and plain 🍅 tomato paste and nothing else and I am not even exaggerating.

But that was 2018 and I haven't flew Ethiopian again so I don't know whether they have since improved their service for their Addis Ababa - Enugu route.

I am not knocking them too much because they are the only foreign airline flying direct to Enugu, so they have no competition.

Given the choice I would choose Ethiopian over any non-African or non-black Airlines.

Travel / Re: Foreign Carriers Engage In Price War To Frustrate Air Peace Out Of London by Ashirioluwa: 8:02pm On Apr 07
I am happy that Air Peace Airlines was able to secure that Lagos-London route, but this story is nothing but a misleading one because, till now, I haven’t seen any changes in the plane ticket prices.

What the writer refers to as a price reduction is not really a price reduction, but our currency appreciates against the dollar.

For example, those who bought a $1200 plane ticket recently (in March), when the exchange rate was $1 to 1700 naira, end up paying 2,040,000 naira.

But if you buy that same ticket today because of the naira appreciation, you will end up paying 1,464, 000 naira because the exchange is $1 to 1220 naira as of today.

This has nothing to do with Air Peace Airlines, but with the exchange rate.

It's an open market

No one is frustrating anyone .

Air peace should have made proper consultation with other airlines before splashing the average airline ticket to UK.

Win win for the travellers as the airlines would drag themselves to the extent of free falling the price .

Modified: As usual, tribal coloration must be added to my comments. Air peace is our own, we all want it's success but they can't be doing things in a wrong way without calling them out.

First Air peace trip from Nigeria to UK, they had issue in both Nigeria and UK, can everybody be wrong? Perhaps, Air peace should have a proper consultant teams that would help them to put things in order before taking any steps..

But you added tribal coloration in the first place, as you always do.

You tried to tone down your unfair comment. Without proper consultation, can you venture into airline business? Do you want to advise an established organization on how to carry out their already successful business? Or maybe you are one of those officials of the NCAA Allen Onyema complained about in Nigeria.

If you say buy or patronize Nigeria, how can you make such a reckless and unfair comment. Maybe you have never purchased a plane ticket before, or you simply choose to be insensitive as usual with all your APC backed comments.

plane tickets are unfairly raised against Nigerians. You may purchase the ticket for the seat beside me in Lagos, while I purchase mine in London or elsewhere outside Nigeria. One thing is sure that my ticket WILL be far cheaper than yours. That’s absolute cheating. Nigerians rather purchase their tickets in other West African countries as they know it will be cheaper.

If you say patronize Nigeria, then you must support and promote the Nigerian brand.
