Please I'm trying to split the output of a LNB to 2 receivers.

1 decoder, 1 satellite TV

I've tried a 4 way splitter

Neither works. It seems only 1 receiver can work at a time

What am I doing wrong?

Wrong equipment and setup.
Dual or quad LNB is beta

The highlighted part shows you don't understand what I have been saying.

They're both on same Satellite, but TPs is different from Satellite.

Let me educate you further

Moreplex 11090 Vertical
TSTV 10970 Horizontal

Vertical and Horizontal TPs will clash and kill the LNB if both decoders are on at the same time or the last watched channel on a particular decoder is on a different Tp with the one you're watching or about to watch.

You must understand parameters
Same Satellite doesn't mean same Transponder

Get dual LNB

Got the signal splitter

Using it now

This one is room splitter that sends the signal to different rooms .. the one I posted is for services in the same band .. tstv and moreplex are both on belintersat 51.5

LNB is 2k in calabar and I have two brand new ones that came with my tstv because I bought extra not knowing they weren't going to need it

The guy just collected 4500 for nothing and I was pained.. he simply unscrew my dstv and screwed in the tstv and it was working.. since then 8 decided to understand this cable thing and do them myself

I did moreplex myself .. changed the LNB myself

Be sure of your information.

All TPs of Moreplex and TSTV are not on same polarity.

What you posted is not new. In fact there is one even cheaper.

It's called Coaxial cable splitter.

It's less than ₦1000, but quite expensive here in Rome, Price: €4.95. So when I'm abroad, I can only buy LNB from UK, not from other European countries.

It would still affect your LNB. Check all the polarities of Moreplex and TSTV to correct your post. This is what I have done for years (1997 to date) while in Nigeria.

splitter can't solve it, except dual LNB

It's the opposite of your diseqc switch.

This would loose me the ability to change channels (alternate between the 3-decoders) independently from each room/tv

95% of hotels uses RF to distribute signals to tvs, it's more cheaper compare to using HDMI splitter.
The quality of image still depends on the installer. I do all my signal distribution with RF.

I think they mostly use HDMI over cat5 extenders while a few use proprietary IPTV combine ( like NETUP IPTV Solutions)

Except of course you meant the 1-star and below hotels.

Point is that there are ready made solutions, but they are all out of budget range. So am looking for cheaper modern solutions

Good morning all.

I have 3-decoders in 3 different rooms and am looking for a way to re-locate them into one room and from there broadcast HDMI quality output to all other room TVs. Basically the way it is done in hotels. RF quality is not good enough even with signal booster

You need HDMI Hub and splitter to get the job done

2-3k
Alaba or arena, oshodi

The jump in price of these materials surprises me. 4x1 diseqc is #500 while 8x1 is over 2k, same thing goes for splitter and lnb...the price to pay for the extra 4 or 2 ports is always exponential.

Is this down to retailers being retailers or what...it's really painful.

Your matter simple.

First thing to check, is if TV outlet has already been wired.

Second is how many channels they need to be showing in the TV in the rooms.

Once you've got that info. Then you can proceed with the needed materials to do the job.

If it is just one channel they want showing in all the rooms, and the TV outlet has already been wired before by the electrician. Then all you have to do is buy an RF modulator ( this apply to new Dstv decoder that does not have an Rf output). Then you connect the av output to the Rf modulator... From the Rf modulator/ converter, you connect the TV wire that links to all the TVs in the room.

But if it is a multi channel setup.. Then you have to calculate one decoder to one channel. So for example it is four to eight channels they want showing in each TV.. Then it has to be four to eight decoders as well.

Then you have two options in such a setup depending on the financial strength of your client. The option of using a multiswitch to reduce the amount of dishes installed outside. Or using a four pin Lnb for a four decoder setup or two four pin lnb on two dishes on an, eight decoder setup. Then you need a channel combiner or you can still use an eight way splitter in reverse. To combine all the wire coming from each 4/5/6/7/8 Rf modulator or Rf out of each decoder. Then you connect the single wire that links and loop to each rooms. Then you configure each decoder to a specific channel. Starting from channel 21 to 69. That way each time a TV connected to the TV outlet is scanned, all 4/5/6/7/8 channels will appear in that order.

Remember to add signal booster/ amplifier inbetween. For a more clearer picture.

This is just the basic.. Though it can still get more advanced than that.. Depending
thank you so much my boss
