George_D:
The multi-switch I am talking about is not the normal signal splitter. Rather, it's a special kind of switch used to seperate vertical and horizontal polarities of signal coming from the same lnb or multiple lnbs. It enables you to watch channels of different polarities with more than one decoder at the same time without conflict.
Just go to alaba or call your guy there and explain to him. He will immediately understand.

@ George_D I don't know if you already have an answer to the switch question.  You need a 3X4 switch like this.

did you mean signal splitter? if it's a splitter you mean, be advised that you can not use it with a diseq switch.

@Big Joe,

wey the cake.

@Ola

ya birthday na one week away now. this one wey u dey invite us come chop so, na wetin make we wear.

@all

just an observation.

the same way the MYTV patch will not work on the H transponder, the same thing goes for the ajazeera+ when used with H transponder. i had to change the position of my LNB to find this out.

@toxnaija

there's offical firmware release and the unofficial one. even satmac and satuniverse label some releases as official. srsupport files are official ones, i advise anyone that does not like living dangerously to stick to it.

@gangsta,
The splitter is what we normally use to channel signals from the dish (or dishes) to multiple recievers - if for any reason the loop out ports cannot be used. I have seen this done with a stack of multichoice decoders plus HITV and they worked perfectly. Whether diseqc or not, once the signal has been modulated from the dish (or dishes) and it enters the house, any simple splitter can channel them into as many recievers as possible-irrespective of the make.

Gangsta101:

All for the love of Nilesat smiley. well Olofofo, more than anyone else, i'm truly happy for you my man. That Echolink decoder makes nilesat a 'must have'. thank God urs is in the kitty.

Enigma,

fortunately for me, most of my really qood friends are lawyers. Just impressed to know you are one also.

for all those using both echolink and strong
having the two receivers opening different packages causes a bit of a problem. let's say you want to watch the premiership on saturday, while the spanish la liga is going on, how do u shuffle between both receivers. i tried looping out a wire from the echolink, via the IF out port, into the LNB in of the strong receiver so i could have both receivers functioning at the same time, but no signals were going through (i have tried this before with a strong and dvb card and it worked), i reversed the connection, even powered off the LNB from each one of the receivers in turn(under the installation menu), just in case theres was a conflict in the power supply to the lnbs, but all to no avail.
so guys, is there a way around this.
The short and simple solution to your problem is installing a Dual Output LNB to feed the two STBs.

George_D:

@gangsta,
Why don't you just use a simple 2-way splitter to feed each reciever directly with its own LNB signal?
That way there will be no conflict.
A regular 2 way splitter will not do. It may work if the channel(s) your trying to tune to is/are on the same transponder, but the moment you change to channels on a different transponder issues will arise.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Gangsta101(m): 9:17pm On Jan 22, 2009
George,

well that makes sense, but i wish to solve the puzzle of the default loop out of each receiver first. if that fails then i would have to do the splitting stuff.

on another note, is the splitter also capable of 'mixing' two signals from 2 lnbs, like a 2way diseqc. i think i came across something like that which the seller says has a problem with H tps.

@Nash-FTA,
REF: Your multiple LNB to one reciever connection diagram you posted on Dec 31. I am having difficulty getting that 22kHz switch. I tried using a normal power passing 2-way splitter but no luck.

@All,
Does anybody know where I can get a 22KHz switch?

I can sort you out with an 8-Way Disecq send me a mail on ecowas4all@yahoo.com
@ECOWAS4ALL,
Thanks so much for your help. I have already sent you a mail on this (pinkboy_ng) but then I saw Pitodenz reply on the subject. I think I'm going to try his idea and see if it works. If it doesn't then maybe I will still settle for the 8-way afterall.

Get a 2 ways eurostar splitter and connect the wires from pas 7/10 lnb and the one from nss7ku lnb and give them one port,use the remaining 3 ports for other satellites.N.B. The two satellites u combined together will now use the same port number.e.g.port #2 will be for both nss7ku and pas7/10.
@Pitodenz,
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I will try it out and see how it goes.

I recommend you visit the following websites which have very clear diagrams on how to connect up to 12 dishes to one or two receivers:

(i) How to connect 8 LNBF (or Dishes) to 1 receiver: http://www.dmsiusa.com/multiplelnbfs.htm

(ii) How to share 2 seperate dishes with 2 seperate receivers: http://www.dmsiusa.com/add_a_receiver.htm

(iii) How to use splitter Switches: http://www.dmsiusa.com/splitter,0_12v_switch.htm

I hope you will find these webpages very useful since I have really enlightened me.
Kind regards.
