HmmmmMmf *clears throat* one thing APC has failed to realise is the power of incumbency. Tell me how many sitting presidents have ever lose a second term? Even when everyone thought Obama wasn't going to make it to the second term, he still won.
We shouldn't allow sentiments derail us from the actual truth. APC clamouring for change is a welcome development. How are we sure it is not a negative change?

MrGuruMaraji: No sir, its my younger bro that apply for the recent naval recruitment but the result is not out.
Errmm wat i wanna ask is that hw can my younger Bro make it to Oga boss level as he apply with O'level Result? So that he won't finish his career as warrant officer. I wish your younger brother a successful shortlistment when the result is finally released. Back to your question, he can rise to the rank of a commissioned officer, if after his shortlistment into the service; improved himself educationally I.e by gaining admission into a tertiary instistution, with due approval of the service chief. Or better still, he can apply with his O'level through the Defence Academy if he is still within the age limit. |

maestroferddi: Jega and APC are jokers.
How does Jega explain over 80% PVC collection in North East ravaged by insurgency while most of the southern states are still grappling with less than 50% collection?
The last time I checked this mooted postponement falls within the provision of the Electoral Act.
What is Jega and APC getting at? 80 percent of maybe 100,000 citizens compared to 60 percent of maybe 1,000,000 citizens is an insignificant figure. #do the maths. |

Politics › Re: Presidency Lists Grouse With February Polls Date by searider(m): 2:50am On Feb 07, 2015 |
When it comes to politics,we always allow sentiments to cloud our senses of reasoning or judgement. The president has stated reasons why the election should not be held in February 14 and the opposition party has not deemed it fit to reason with him.
I could remember when February 14 was picked by INEC as the date for the general election. I could also remember the grumbling among the Nigerians citizens for INEC choosing such an important date. All of a sudden, the election can no longer wait because some people are in a hurry to vote out the opposition party.
Let the truth be said, no incoming government will do more than its predecessor because it always leverage on the foundation of the past government. Either February or April; somebody must be sworn-in come May29, so, why the hurry?
NB: we have 12 other parties contesting for the same post. Do not be selfish.

Recently, there has been a serious discrimination between the university certificate and the polytechnic certificate. I bet this is why Nigeria can not move forward. It shouldn't be about the kind of certificate you tender but your ability to deliver.
Aint talking Buhari kind of certificate, though.

vislabraye: When I read something like this, I keep weeping. This is injustice at its best.
That's why the militants are agitating. Nigeria has been unfair to the Southerners. You can imagine Buhari coming out to challenge the Oba, "why are your people killing my people?"
I've seen what Tinubu did in Lagos and he'll do same in Nigeria. Tinubu is so gullible that he allowed greed takes over his sense of reasoning. APC may call this a mere propaganda or stunt pulled by the PDP but let's be realistic; no politician has the well-being of his/her people at heart. They are always there to enrich themselves. The development of a nation is not about its economic or military power but about the well-being of its people. *in patrick Obahiagbon's voice* this is sadonic, luguburious and dismal pismal if our politicians do not change their ideas about politics. |

HugeMac: story for alamajiri people ! U think you are talking to Dumb people? Tinubu is corrupt and you know , please deny it , and what makes you think if GEJ wants to take SW , he will need tinubu , when he has EFCC to destroy his legacy
I have been following your comments , its like you don't even know what politics is about
Before 1999, Tinubu had none of these: 1. Oriental Hotel 2. Falomo Shopping Complex 3. First Nation Airline 4. Lekki Concession Company 5. Apapa Amusement Park 6. Maiyegun Land Project 7. De Nation 8. Renaissance Hotel 9. Tejuoso Market (Joint ownership) 10. Ikeja Shopping Mall 11. TV Continental 12. Converted Lagos Poly land for TVC 13. Owned NNPC Office building in Lagos 14. Radio Continental 15. Owned School of Nursing building in Lagos 16. Tax Collector of Lagos State (Alpha Beta) 17. Wife is a member of the National Assembly 18. Son-in-law is a member of the National Assembly 19. Daughter is the President-General of Market Women Association in Lagos 20. N4 billion government financed property for self at Queens Drive, Lagos. Tinubu acquired all of the above and many more not listed after he became Governor of Lagos State, first in 1999 and won his second term in 2003. He remains Governor Emeritus of Lagos, controlling the State's treasury through his protege Governor Fashola. He is greedy and may forfeit all, if he doesn't play ball. You read me right, people! He may lose everything if he declines to play ball with President Jonathan. Everyone knows Tinubu abandoned his party's candidate, Nuhu Ribadu to support the PDP candidate in 2011. Yoruba, however, did not really buy into his support for Jonathan in 2011. We just voted Goodluck because we were against Gambari. Ribadu and Buhari being Gambari did not just cut it for the Yoruba at the time and even more so now. Yet, not many of you still recollect Atiku's interview shortly after he was defeated by Yar'Adua in 2007. According to the Turaki of Adamawa, Tinubu supported and funded the campaign of late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua while the AC had a presidential candidate. Tinubu supported Yar'Adua of the PDP while his party, the AC had a presidential candidate (Atiku) because he knew Obasanjo will use the powers of incumbency to rig the election for Yar'Adua as President. To avoid the possibility of ending up in prison under Yar'Adua, Tinubu secretly funded Yar'Adua's campaign. Tinubu is a political dealer and not anywhere near a political leader. Political observers are abreast of Tinubu's game plan with Buhari. He believes US, UK, Obasanjo and Babangida are on board with Buhari's presidency. So, he is willing and ready to put all his eggs in one basket over # JihadistBuhari and ready for any eventuality. He thinks with America's support, Buhari will win and he (Tinubu) will stay relevant and in control of the Yoruba economic wealth. However, Jonathan, the President they all loved to call clueless has the support of the Eastern power blocs -Russia and China. He will bring down the house on everyone of them. We are likely to end up with Ukraine but Tinubu and Co want an Ivory Coast scenario. At the close of the day, if Nigeria unravels without a well coordinated central command and control outside Tinubu's and Obasanjo's groups in Yorubaland, the two most hated figures in Yorubaland right now, unknown militia Yoruba groups will take over the affairs of the Yoruba states and provinces the minutes Nigeria is dissolved. They will not break up the control of any area under them without a fight. Tinubu and Obasanjo will surely not be in the commanding height of things in Yorubaland. Former thugs, assassins and criminals will surely run things unless the Yoruba Obas and leaders of thought work out plans before rererun. The above scenario is definitely not static. It is being speculated that after the expected defeat of Buhari on 14 February, Tinubu will ask Gambari to hold fire pending the gubernatorial election on 28 February. He will then negotiate with President Jonathan for a soft landing to allow him control the Lagos State through Ambode as the sole condition under which he will prevail on Buhari and his boys, Boko Haram to cease all hostility against Mr. President and his government. If Jonathan refuses to negotiate, but insists on Agbaje as Lagos State Governor, Tinubu will activate the terror cells in Yorubaland in conjunction with Boko Haram in the North on or before February 28 but definitely not after May 29. Many of you shouting Sia Buhari are just a game in the hands of the Yoruba-APC. The real change of the Yoruba people remains change from unitary system to regional parliamentary system. This change can only be possible under Jonathan. On February 14 when you get to the polls, # VoteJonathan Well- said. I like yourt analysis. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Demands Oil Wells/Ministerial Slots From Buhari - National Daily by searider(m): 9:44pm On Feb 04, 2015 |
They are always after oil wells and oil blocs in the Niger Delta without a recourse to the development of the region.
Presently, I am on a special assignment to a community in Rivers state; this communit is an oil-rich community but their standard of living is an apology. The companies only come to explore the oil without fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibilities. They pollute the water day-in day-out there rendering the water unsafe for fishing activities.
According to a reliable source, most of these oil-wells are own by the Northerners and the Westerners. No wonder they do not care about the development of the region! No wonder the then Militants didn't care about who bears the brunts of their destrruction.
If the control of resources is so important, every region should endeavour relentlessly, to develop the resources in their regions. Let the South-south region enjoy the dividend of being an oil_rich region. |
