Why are you explaining his degree for him na ,if indeed he has 2 masters & a PhD he should be able to explain himself. ?  undecided
I personally suspect its his Master(- the man that brought him to Alaba from the village )'s son that has all these degrees and he's promoting the guy's identity as his own.
Hey guys. . .lets focus on the real retard here- mekusxxxx, this thread isn't for exchanging intellectual points of view on quality of academic programs in institutions of higher learning, but for calling out a fraud .  smiley
true, I got carried away- morning stress  undecided

But mekusxx, spends half of his threads boasting of his qualifications/ the other half on tribalistic sentiments. However, i would like to know what Abiola did to him lol. I still am also trying to come to gripes how Igbo people are supporting IBB. Seems people have short memories.

The collective Nigerian memory is like that of a goldfish- it lasts for 2 seconds and we forget everything someone did to us.

wudd:
guys its possible for meku to spend 2yrs for a master in the uk cos he must have been a "special student"  if you know what i mean,
He was likely doing a 2 year research masters program. Schools in the UK offer 2 year research programs- when I am bored I could easily find the schools which offer 2 years research degrees in Molecular biology.

Moreover the BBRSC, and NERC research grants are typically limited to UK citizens. They are also typically for PhD studentships, which mekusxx did not do. However, its likely he got a scholarship for his UK masters. I dont doubt his academic qualifications- I am more interested in why he hates Yoruba people too much, you never see him focussing on the Hausa/Fulani

Moreover, he would support anything, even Hitler's comeback just as long as its bad for the Yoruba undecided

I am sorry but that is nonsense. I agree that there is a difference between education and enlightenment but for someone who claims to have studied in at least 4 different countries, you would expect a level of exposure that would have affected his (mekusxxx) mindset positively.

Also there are many reputable institutions in Europe and not just 7. That is a typical ignorant comment from Americans and some Africans who schooled in America.
i was talking of in science (of course remove oxford which is losing its grounds in science). Moreover, although I schooled in the US, I have worked at one of these schools  wink. Gave me the opportunity to compare across systems since this was supposed to be the top school in the country.

Insead, Cambridge, warwick, Oxford et al
Insead is a business school, warwick's reputation likewise- a lot in maths/business. Some poeple claim its engineering school like Bristol is good- but it would be at pat with lower-class engineering depts in theU. Rep is also limited more to the UK.
Your list of European Universities is very incomplete; in fact you are yet to start the list. You have to admit that unlike American Universities that sprouts anyhow, the same is not the case in Europe. There are far too many cheap and substandard universities in America, the reverse is the case in Europe.  You Forgot LSE, Ecole, Birmin , Tu-delft, Manch. There are just far too many of them.
Ignorance- have u attended school in both the US and the UK? Also take a good look at rankings of any sort- which are usually biased towards research, and are compiled by very biased groups but they still have US schools on top. British/European schoolsare reputable in Europe. However, You would never see any nobel laureate or field medalists be churned out from them in the coming future. I have a good idea of the schools that are reputable in the UK/Europe.Unilag/UI are good schools in Nigeria, so is University of Capetown in South Africa but that does not mean they are equivalent to Harvard- is that really that hard to understand.

Sefago:
Good to see that your own brother has punctured your ignorance. Remember in the past that I have always warned you about your warped idea of american education. America is now lagging behind much smaller countries in education at the basic level, which definitely will affect the upper level in due course. I have not mentioned the uni I atttended in the UK and you are already frothing in your butt?
Really? Retard  grin. I know you did not attend any of the golden 5 in the UK judging by your previous comments, its simple deduction. As a molecular biologist from a supposed UK institution- you should be aware of the history of molecular biology research. I would expect that your program exposed you to research papers on molecular biology. I would also have expected you to notice while reading those papers, that contributions to molecular biology and biophysics started at MRC Cambridge laboratory and then moved to Yale MBB, and has stayed there for a while.

The US has always lagged in basic education, its not their forte, but they seem to be doing something right if they are still producing the greatest scientific innovations. FYI UK Schools have not produced any significant contributions to science bar MRC laboratory at cambridge- which I pray to work for Amen  grin grin grin. Japanese Universities have surpassed British Universities- no one in the US thinks British schools are as good as Japanese schools for science. Birmingham ko, sausageham ni

http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/chemistry/laureates/

The typical suspects- US Unis, Max Planck institute/Cambridge and japanese Unis

There is no link between writing skill/sensible comments and a PhD. Even moreso that Mekusxxx got his PhD from a non top University in the Netherlands where the quality could be very low. There are only 7 Universities in Europe of any interest, and mekusxxx attended none of them lol (Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL, EPFL, ETH Zurich)

Some guy won some sit- probably because Nigerians in the UK voted for him in drove, and someone is calling it an ndigbo victory. You would never find a Yoruba person make claims about Bayo Ogunlesi and stress his Yorubaness. Wetin concern us with that?? grin

Leave these ethnic hating idiots alone. MKO Abiola despite his failures, was a man who strived to help the lower class since he came from that social group.

I am just confused about what to do with grad school. On a good note, I just got an internship with goldman sachs!! I know they are in trouble, but its still kinda worth it. Ever since I came here, I started considering doing a phd. That is the exact reason why I transferred away from my previous school. I am hoping I can maintain a 3.8 till I finish engineering, but that is looking like it is going to be a significant hurdle, although having a social life at the same time is almost impossible. I am hoping to go to grad school in something that would focus on robotics, it is mainly artificial intelligence that I like. MIT and the big H have pretty good departments in that regard. However, my current engineering track is more mechanical/aerospace than computer science. I have started taking those courses though. I should graduate next year, but I would do one more yr just to maybe get a double major in CS and engine. I am also looking at business school down the line, so I think I might be going down another route. If you can't tell already, I am a confused soul. I need to get my head straight. I plan on doing that this summer.

You did well this cycle. Everyone has told me that it is what you do in grad school that matters and that it is not all that dependent on where you go as far as engineering is concerned. Besides, I hear Yale has nice girls.  Good luck.
Nice-what department at Sachs do you plan to work in? Seems you want to stay in the Northeast- lol u must be pretty pretty smart to maintain a 3.8 at your school- I did not even know that was possible. I doff my hat for you sha. Why dont you try and get hired by an investment bank after graduation- then proceed further to do B-school. Investment banks sponsor H1B a lot- infact at my undergrad all the international students are working for citigroup (so many lol) because those guy sponsor a work visa for foreigners in america a lot.

Get your head straight quickly, thats the best advise I can give you. Know where you want to go- thats the problem with smart people they always consider a 1000 options not focussing on one- I had a similar problem- last year I got internships in 4 different countries in 4 different fields lol because I did not know what I wanted to do. Waste of my time. The best you can do is know where you want to go, and how far you want to come.

Also make contacts with your professors for recommendations- also you could ask if they have any contacts with the robotics department at Harvard and MIT. Since your undergrad is prolly one of the best in the Ivy for engineering- they prolly do have contacts with these schools,. This could help you so much. Also you could take initiative and contact professors at these schools, and see if they would take you for a research stint over the summer or something- I dont know. You would be surprised. . The good thing about science/engineering is that you have more transport material- you can get hired anywhere in the world easily especially if you attend the best schools and do quite well in them.

Dont worry about social life lol- u are not going to remember most of college when u are old, trust me. I cannot remember a single part I went to freshman year- trust me I went to a lot (glances at freshman grades and winces).

The girls at Yale are  undecided, depends though on what you are used to. My lowly undergrad has just too many hot girls, its so hard to concentrate in class. The degree of hotness of the girl is directly proportional to the prestige of the institution- this I am 100% sure of  grin grin grin

This is just so gay. Mekusxx, hubris is silly. He did not do his PhD at an Ivy or Oxbridge and he is already having o.r.g.asms.

I cannot believe I am arguing with someone who studied crop science at the Bachelors level undecided

mekusxxx:
HHAHAHAH! All these Yoruba imbe-ciles loafing around on cyber. MKO was an international thief and there is nothing you'll do about it; too late he has been beaten to death by stronger forces grin grin. As MKO was, aso are most Yorubas. We have seen what all the Yoruba ministers appointed by ObJ did. We have seen all the international fraudulent activities of you guys. In a sane country most of you should be in jail. Hahahah!

Most of you don't even have good GCE qualification, despite parading fake degrees forged off of Oluwole

If my achievements riles you, go get yours and flaunt it.

EVEN Sefago, who is so empty that he argued basic genetics with me has suddenly woken up. Trust Yoruba, always finding strenght in collective aimlessness.
lol, (1) I was not arguing genetics with you. Neither did I make mistakes on genetics- you made an ignorant statement made on probably biological modeling which is wrong to look intelligent. No problem with that, but it does not impress me, maybe people in your village. Not a biologist, so always skeptical about formulas that claim genetic diversity can be as basic as a single  equation. I dont deal with models, I deal with hard stuff (2) I am not a genetics/molecular biologist so my knowledge of genetics is quite limited- makes sense, U will find people from the MRC laboratory at  (one of the best schools for molecular biology) who are ignorant concerning the basic laws of genetics.

(3) You achievement looks wonderful to you, but in the circles I have been in- you just look like a he-goat bleating. I could just imagine the arrogance of a nobel prize winner, if the bleating of a common PhD holder from a non-prestigious/top research University is so loud.

excuse me, is mekusxxx = igbo boy? (a la multiple user name)

just my observation that since mekusxxx has been 'taken apart' and silenced over his inability to prove his spurious claims over his non-existent academic qualifications, he's suddenly stopped posting and "igbo boy" has continued into his peculiar uncivilised manner of tribalistic attack, especially on anything yoruba
Not really- mekusxx lives in the US, so he has to sleep during the time igbo boy is posting which is UK/naija time. Dont forget naija boys hustle all over the world at different times. they might be the same people though I dont know. They dont sound the same waay at all though

- Its in the article by Okwena or something like that- did you read what we are discussing about all- or jumped into the frayhuh

i didnt write anything about the US telling IBB to annull the election. FYI America never have permanent friends like you said it is all about their interest. Ok lets say they told IBB to do just that, then maybe Abiola didnt pay his dues then thats why
Really? Another substantiated claim. I would have sworn you were from the same ethnic group as the author of this article. Evidencehuh
Business › Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by SEFAGO(m): 11:37am On May 07, 2010
So anyways igboboy after your statement- read the story, sit down and think critically (might be hard for you), examine the facts presented.

Trust me you will laugh. The US support people for their own interests. The story contradicts itself- it claims that the US were telling IBB (the one who is the real drug lord) were telling him to annul the election. However, Abiola's family have had a good relationship with the US.

Was Abiola an International Drug Baron?

Omoibo oloshi writer.

Well-crafted my b.l.a.c.k ass. Please nothing in the article suggested an iota of well articulated facts. I just wasted 5 minutes reading a piece of unsubstantiated crap.

I should f.u.cking sue mekusxxx's a.s.s for making me waste my time. All the writer claimed was that June 12 was annulled because abiola was a drug lord- seriouslyhuh?

Who did this person think his readers would be- people with IQs below par?

Where is there any evidence that MKO was a drug lord in that article?
Business › Re: Was Abiola An International Drug Baron? by SEFAGO(m): 10:28am On May 07, 2010
@mekushxx, if really you are a doctorate degree holder, the institution that awarded you that certificate must be ashamed of you now. Contrary to what you think, being a phd holder does not make you more knowledgeable especially in areas outside your field of study. We have several cases of doctorate degree holders and professors in Nigeria who have failed in simple assignments given to them. If with your phd, you are still an ethnic bigot, you are worse than a stark illiterate who is tolerant and is therefore more relevant to the nation and the world.
Bros you get sense- most PhD holders are clueless about anything outside their field
all of you trying to crucify mekuxxx are dodging the question of the thread

Abiola indeed was a beneficiary of ill gotten wealth

Is mekuxxx a triablist? Hecks yea he is just like a million tribalist we have here on NL
Dont be silly again- this thread was titled concerning drugs and not ITT. Fela Kuti did have a grudge against Abiola. Its possible that abiola was probably fronting/stole money- but was he really a drug lord?

If Abiola was a drug lord- you think the US would not be aware of this? With the CIA/FBI and everything everywhere- His family is well respected in the US and when the elections were overturned the US were not happy. However, I doubt they would have been that helpful to a drug lord.

By the way Fela as an afrocentrist- made a lot of ignorant comments. He saw things in the larger picture, not the baseline- which is required to understand the problems in Africa. Instead of blaming the problems of africa on the people itself- he spent too much time complaining about oyibo people

Do you mean this song:
