i read of how former governor james ibori celebrated his thanksgiving yesterday in first baptist church delta. we have identified the enemy number 2 of the nigerian people to be all the pastors and churches that celebrate, encourage, blesses, prays for and praises any corrupt politician. this is how a facebook user analysed it: WELCOME TO NIGERIA WHERE CRIMINALS AND CORRUPT PUBLIC OFFICERS ARE CELEBRATED! Who cursed us in this nation? and What kind of message are we sending to our children when we celebrate PUBLIC CRIMINALS AND EX-CONVICTS? Whoever says crime does not pay has obviously never been to Nigeria. This Former Governor of Delta State ,Nigeria, Mr James Ibori, just finished serving over 5 years in JAIL for corruption and stealing the billions while he was a governor..... Yet, on his release thousands of people form the same place he looted trouped to the airport to CELEBRATE AND WELCOME him at his house and organize a big party ATTENTION BY THOUSANDS OF DIGNATORIES, SENATORS, EX-GOVERNORS, MASSES ETC. I understand all about redemption, forgiveness and paying your dues for your crimes, but for Christ's sake, MUST WE CELEBRATE HIM SO BLATANTLY WITH NO DECORUM? How are we going t0 convince the youths coming up that crime does not pay. Not only does crime pay in Nigeria, it is actually the MOST LUCRATIVE profession. What a SHAME! or more appropriately, what a lack of shame! https://web.facebook.com/opebanwo2/posts/1194096204036354 ------------------------- i hope they change, if not we will treat them like NLC |
Agriculture is the back bone of human survival – it has been sustaining mankind over the ages. Without it, there will be no food to eat and no raw materials for our different industrial use. Through agriculture we can produce enough food for yourselves and to others who will readily buy from us and make us rich. It is said that the whole life of man revolves around nature and agriculture. If that is the case, why do most people look down on this noble investment, preferring to invest in products and services that are less sustainable to human race? It is so sad to see how people these days are becoming more of consumers rather than producers. Everyone just like to relax on the beach all the time taking sun bath while crunching on glasses of exotic wine. No one wants to go out there to do productive farming that ensures continued provision of foods and other valuable sources that sustains life of human and animals. Most affected in this regard are Entertainment celebrities who projects life of partying and walking on the streets holding a cup of wine as the real life, thereby encouraging laziness and wayward lifestyle among youths who tends to look up to them as source inspiration. No wonder the reasons we now have more music singers than music listeners, more aspiring actors and actresses than those buying the videos, more entertainers than those being entertained. The world just seems to constantly degenerating to life of plenty enjoyment and plenty of laziness. Granted, everyone (including me) wants to have a good time once in a while, of which is the beauty of life and the reasons we work, to enjoy some of the good things life has to offer – to keep us going and being more productive. No one is against that but a situation where people wants to be merriment all the time is not just acceptable. I can hardly see any entertainment celebrity investing in Agriculture, rather they’ll invest millions of dollars in fashion and clothing line, in perfume and wines, and things like that. The consequences is that majority of the world is beginning to see such as the ‘in thing’… looking down on what should truly be the in thing. This has to change! There are very plenty of good reasons to invest in Agriculture and below are just some of the top 5 reasons anyone should invest in Agricultural sector today. Go through it and don’t forget to share your opinion through commenting. 1. Personal Satisfaction – I don’t know about you but there is this feeling of nature, being close to nature I use to have each time I am in the farm. Seeing the beautiful plants bustling with life and tenderness, the joy of tending the crops and guiding them to growth is just amazing. You have the wonderful feeling that you are doing great and worthwhile things, helping to sustain the universe and not just consuming it to death. 2. Guaranteed Availability – Have you ever been afraid that one day, those raw materials you are using for your current production may not be available anymore? You are not alone, many people feel the same way. One day they may be no woods for the furniture and carpentry works . They may be no more raw materials to make those cloths you put on and abandon at will. However, investing in Agriculture ensures that you have some these materials at all time.Agriculture I hate those who believe they can buy anything once they have the money, it doesn’t matter it the think isn’t available. But I like those who despite having the money still think of how to sustain nature for the benefit on everyone. 3. Purest Environment – The catarrh I am having right now is as a result of being expose to certain industrial pollution few days ago and some others are having much worse cases than this. People die everyday because of artificial industrial pollutions due to the fact that more and more synthetic products are being produced everyday. With Farming, you are sure of contributing to the purest environment possible and not destroying it. 4. Support the Eco System – When you engage in Agriculture, you ensure that the natural food chain doesn’t break. Everything shouldn’t be just about the immediate quick profit, think of tomorrow and the generations yet unborn to whom you own the responsibility of sustaining this earth for because, someone else did the same for you thousands of years ago. 5. You Make Money – When you create value, the resultant effect is always wealth. Agriculture is one sure way to create great value that ensures you enjoy unlimited wealth. Farmers are not afraid of running out of raw materials anytime soon because your raw materials keep replenishing itself naturally. Perhaps there is more money to make in Agriculture than most businesses people glamorizes these days. Hence, this is the time to get up, get your gloves on, and get close to nature! The reward will be much great. PRESS RELEASE RE- PLANNED PROTESTS OF TUFACE AND OTHER OPPOSING GROUPS SCHEDULED FOR 5TH AND 6TH FEBRUARY, 2017, IN LAGOS AND OTHER STATES The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to publications in the media on the planned protests slated for 5th and 6th February, 2017 in Lagos and other States by different groups, one to be led by the popular musician INNOCENT IDIBIA aka TUFACEand other opposing groups. 2. Nigeria Police Force is deeply concerned with the security implications with regard to the planned protest/demonstrations, and as the lead security Agency in the country, is fully aware and recognizes the constitutional rights of every citizen (including Tuface and his group) to assemble and move freely in any part of the country. 3. The Nigeria Police Force is currently in possession of credible intelligence reports that other interest groups are equally planning to hold a counter protest/matches on the same days at the same places/cities as the Tuface Group. https://web.facebook.com/zuck/posts/10103460278231481?pnref=story My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla's parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that. Like many of you, I'm concerned about the impact of the recent executive orders signed by President Trump. We need to keep this country safe, but we should do that by focusing on people who actually pose a threat. Expanding the focus of law enforcement beyond people who are real threats would make all Americans less safe by diverting resources, while millions of undocumented folks who don't pose a threat will live in fear of deportation. We should also keep our doors open to refugees and those who need help. That's who we are. Had we turned away refugees a few decades ago, Priscilla's family wouldn't be here today. That said, I was glad to hear President Trump say he's going to "work something out" for Dreamers -- immigrants who were brought to this country at a young age by their parents. Right now, 750,000 Dreamers benefit from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that allows them to live and work legally in the US. I hope the President and his team keep these protections in place, and over the next few weeks I'll be working with our team at FWD.us to find ways we can help. I'm also glad the President believes our country should continue to benefit from "people of great talent coming into the country." These issues are personal for me even beyond my family. A few years ago, I taught a class at a local middle school where some of my best students were undocumented. They are our future too. We are a nation of immigrants, and we all benefit when the best and brightest from around the world can live, work and contribute here. I hope we find the courage and compassion to bring people together and make this world a better place for everyone |

Ladies Listen please listen. I have observed that some ladies tend to settle for the man that they love, they evaluate their relationship or marriage based how much they love the man and if they aren't really feeling strong chemistry, they quit the relationship or start planning to divorce. Ladies listen, evaluating your relationship or marriage based on how much you love the man is not the best yardstick to evaluate the relationship. I mean your feelings shouldn't be used to determine the fate of the relationship. You should evaluate your relationship or marriage based on the quality and degree of love the man has for you, not the other way round. Let his love for you determine your ultimate decision. I have observed that most ladies don't have any feeling for the guy who they got married to until after a few weeks/months or years into the relationship. I have observed that even if the lady feel no chemistry at all for the man in the beginning, as long the man sustains his love for the lady, she will eventually love the man to the extent that she receives his love. A woman responds to a man's love so the love of a woman for a man is often a response to his love for her. So you should focus more on how much he loves you than how much you love him because you will eventually love him if he continue to love you. Ask most of our mothers, they will tell you they really didn't feel any much chemistry for their husbands from the start but love their husbands afterwards. They responded to his love. Men are naturally created to be initiators so let his love for you exceed your love for him. If a man does not love you more than you love him, I am afraid you may have to do extra work to sustain the man.. And that is not an easy task for a lady. This is only applicable in the beginning of relationship, once you are married, then everyone should love to their best. Guys Listen up, don't marry a lady because she loves you so much but marry her because you love her so much. You are the initiator so let your love be the foundation upon which you are building the relationship or marriage because the woman is a responder, she will respond to the extent you show her love. Guys, if your lady is not loving you, please check the intensity of your love or check how you have been communicating your love. If you communicate love, I bet you most women will fall in response to love, they are wired to respond to love. Little wonder the commandment to love was giving to the man and not the woman. The Bible never command a woman to love her husband, but why? Because it is natural for her to love the man that shows her love so there is no need giving a commandment for what she will naturally do. Do you need a commandment to drink water?? You will naturally drink water in response to thirst. So is the case of women with love. Just as men were commanded to love, women were commanded to submit but why? Because submission is a response to love.. God bless your relationships!! http://goldstructure.com/relationship.html |

This is the definition of the word "con artiste" as seen online : a person who cheats or tricks others by persuading them to believe something that is not true. Also related to the word "confidence trick" (synonyms include confidence game, confidence scheme, ripoff, scam and stratagem) is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence, used in the classical sense of trust. I'm beginning to see these definitions manifesting in the life of Ralph Uwazuruike, the renowned leader of the Movement for the Emmancipation of Biafra (MASSOB) when I realized yesterday that he has been ripping off members of his group of their hard earned money after persuading them that he will make them Governors, Commissioners , Local Government Chairmen, Ministers, Ambassadors etc when Biafra comes into existence. Can you imagine that? And these people would have to be paying dues from time to time in order to maintain their fantasy positions, I even saw one of them last night, who has been promised a Commisioner position. I don't know the number of his group members , i assume they must be large. This man must be living in opulence wherever he is- the fantasy president of the Biafra. What a way to make money? I don.t know why EFCC has not taken notice of this man. or could he be working for the DSS? |
Liberty Reserve was a Costa Rica-based centralized digital currency service that billed itself as the "oldest, safest and most popular payment processor... serving millions all around a world".[1] The site had over one million users when it was shut down by the United States government. Prosecutors argued that due to lax security, alleged criminal activity largely went undetected, which ultimately led to them seizing the service.[2] In May 2013, Liberty Reserve was shut down by United States federal prosecutors under the Patriot Act after an investigation by authorities across 17 countries. The United States charged founder Arthur Budovsky and six others with money laundering and operating an unlicensed financial transaction company. Liberty Reserve is alleged to have been used to launder more than $6 billion in criminal proceeds during its history.[3] |
djlaqua91:As if you can guarantee that bitcoin is not risky who are the people behind it? Do they have a license to operate as a financial institution? I guess you also need to pursue better knowledge Legal status and regulation Main article: Legality of bitcoin by country The legal status of bitcoin varies substantially from country to country and is still undefined or changing in many of them. While some countries have explicitly allowed its use and trade, others have banned or restricted it. Likewise, various government agencies, departments, and courts have classified bitcoins differently. Regulations and bans that apply to bitcoin probably extend to similar cryptocurrency systems.[299] In April 2013, Steven Strauss, a Harvard public policy professor, suggested that governments could outlaw bitcoin,[300] and this possibility was mentioned again by a bitcoin investment vehicle in a July 2013 report to a regulator.[273] However, the vast majority of nations have not done so as of 2014. It is illegal in Bangladesh,[301] Bolivia,[302] Ecuador.[303] In China in December 2013 the Chinese government declared that "bitcoin is not a currency and should not be circulated and used in the market as a currency." 'While people there are free to buy and sell it, financial institutions have been warned away'.[304] Criminal activity The use of bitcoin by criminals has attracted the attention of financial regulators, legislative bodies, law enforcement, and the media.[34] The FBI prepared an intelligence assessment,[36] the SEC has issued a pointed warning about investment schemes using virtual currencies,[34] and the U.S. Senate held a hearing on virtual currencies in November 2013.[35] Several news outlets have asserted that the popularity of bitcoins hinges on the ability to use them to purchase illegal goods.[141][305] In 2014, researchers at the University of Kentucky found "robust evidence that computer programming enthusiasts and illegal activity drive interest in bitcoin, and find limited or no support for political and investment motives."[292] Funding Terrorism Bitcoin is transparent in its reporting of how much gets transferred and when, but lacks oversight about reporting suspicious activities in comparison to the regulated banking system. Bitcoin provides 'cover' to 'move money around without triggering the usual alarm bells associated with giant transfers of cash.' Jennifer Shasky Calvery, former head of the US Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), an agency that fights money laundering and terrorist finance, has stated that 'powerful payment technologies could facilitate bad actors.' She stated that "What keeps me up at night when I am thinking about digital currency...the real threats out there, these days we’re thinking a lot about ISIL," Calvery said. "How they’re moving their money, and how potential US-based individuals are becoming foreign fighters: Are they moving their money, can we identify them from the movement of their money? What does it mean if they start moving their money through bitcoin? We’ve started to see some public articles suggesting that has occurred." [306] Theft There have been many cases of bitcoin theft.[71] One way this is accomplished involves a third party accessing the private key to a victim's bitcoin address,[307] or of an online wallet.[308] If the private key is stolen, all the bitcoins from the compromised address can be transferred. In that case, the network does not have any provisions to identify the thief, block further transactions of those stolen bitcoins, or return them to the legitimate owner.[273] Theft also occurs at sites where bitcoins are used to purchase illicit goods. In late November 2013, an estimated $100 million in bitcoins were allegedly stolen from the online illicit goods marketplace Sheep Marketplace, which immediately closed.[309] Users tracked the coins as they were processed and converted to cash, but no funds were recovered and no culprits identified.[309] A different black market, Silk Road 2, stated that during a February 2014 hack, bitcoins valued at $2.7 million were taken from escrow accounts.[310] Sites where users exchange bitcoins for cash or store them in "wallets" are also targets for theft. Inputs.io, an Australian wallet service, was hacked twice in October 2013 and lost more than $1 million in bitcoins.[311] In late February 2014 Mt. Gox, one of the largest virtual currency exchanges, filed for bankruptcy in Tokyo amid reports that bitcoins worth $350 million had been stolen.[126] Flexcoin, a bitcoin storage specialist based in Alberta, Canada, shut down on March 2014 after saying it discovered a theft of about $650,000 in bitcoins.[312] Poloniex, a digital currency exchange, reported on March 2014 that it lost bitcoins valued at around $50,000.[313] In January 2015 UK-based bitstamp, the third busiest bitcoin exchange globally, was hacked and $5 million in bitcoins were stolen.[314] February 2015 saw a Chinese exchange named BTER lose bitcoins worth nearly $2 million to hackers.[315] A major bitcoin exchange, Bitfinex, was hacked and nearly 120,000 bitcoins (around $60m) was stolen in 2016. Bitfinex was forced to suspend its trading. The theft is the second largest bitcoin heist ever, dwarfed only by Mt. Gox theft in 2014. According to Forbes, "All of Bitfinex's customers,... will stand to lose money. The company has announced a haircut of 36.067% across the board."[134] Black markets Main article: Darknet market A CMU researcher estimated that in 2012, 4.5% to 9% of all transactions on all exchanges in the world were for drug trades on a single dark web drugs market, Silk Road.[316] Child pornography,[317] murder-for-hire services,[318] and weapons[319] are also allegedly available on black market sites that sell in bitcoin. Due to the anonymous nature and the lack of central control on these markets, it is hard to know whether the services are real or just trying to take the bitcoins.[320] Several deep web black markets have been shut by authorities. In October 2013 Silk Road was shut down by U.S. law enforcement[321][322][323] leading to a short-term decrease in the value of bitcoin.[324] In 2015, the founder of the site was sentenced to life in prison.[325] Alternative sites were soon available, and in early 2014 the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the closure of Silk Road had little impact on the number of Australians selling drugs online, which had actually increased.[326] In early 2014, Dutch authorities closed Utopia, an online illegal goods market, and seized 900 bitcoins.[327] In late 2014, a joint police operation saw European and American authorities seize bitcoins and close 400 deep web sites including the illicit goods market Silk Road 2.0.[328] Law enforcement activity has resulted in several convictions. In December 2014, Charlie Shrem was sentenced to two years in prison for indirectly helping to send $1 million to the Silk Road drugs site,[329] and in February 2015, its founder, Ross Ulbricht, was convicted on drugs charges and faces a life sentence.[330] Some black market sites may seek to steal bitcoins from customers. The bitcoin community branded one site, Sheep Marketplace, as a scam when it prevented withdrawals and shut down after an alleged bitcoins theft.[331] In a separate case, escrow accounts with bitcoins belonging to patrons of a different black market were hacked in early 2014.[310] According to the Internet Watch Foundation, a UK-based charity, bitcoin is used to purchase child pornography, and almost 200 such websites accept it as payment. Bitcoin isn't the sole way to purchase child pornography online, as Troels Oertling, head of the cybercrime unit at Europol, states, "Ukash and Paysafecard... have [also] been used to pay for such material." However, the Internet Watch Foundation lists around 30 sites that exclusively accept bitcoins.[317] Some of these sites have shut down, such as a deep web crowdfunding website that aimed to fund the creation of new child porn.[332][better source needed] Furthermore, hyperlinks to child porn websites have been added to the blockchain as arbitrary data can be included when a transaction is made.[333][334] Money laundering Bitcoins may not be ideal for money laundering because all transactions are public.[335] Authorities, including the European Banking Authority[33] the FBI,[36] and the Financial Action Task Force of the G7[336] have expressed concerns that bitcoin may be used for money laundering. In early 2014, an operator of a U.S. bitcoin exchange was arrested for money laundering.[124] A report by UK's Treasury and Home Office named "UK national risk assessment of money laundering and terrorist financing" (2015 October) found that, of the twelve methods examined in the report, bitcoin carries the lowest risk of being used for money laundering, with the most common money laundering method being the banks.[337] Ponzi scheme In a Ponzi scheme that utilized bitcoins, The Bitcoin Savings and Trust promised investors up to 7 percent weekly interest, and raised at least 700,000 bitcoins from 2011 to 2012.[338] In July 2013 the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged the company and its founder in 2013 "with defrauding investors in a Ponzi scheme involving bitcoin".[338] In September 2014 the judge fined Bitcoin Savings & Trust and its owner $40 million for operating a bitcoin Ponzi scheme.[33 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin |
Gold2Naira:being able to transfer funds anonymously can encourage money laundering. one day the government will come after bitcoin users |
i created a bitcoin account a few days ago. from my observation, i can see another disaster about to happen just like in liberty reserve. Some years back, liberty reserve used to be the major method of transferring money online. majorly used by forex traders, and gamblers and money launderers. yes, money launderers. because you can sign up, fund your liberty reserve account and transfer money anonymously without any control, someone can easily use it to launder money. one morning, we woke up to the shock, that the americans have blocked the liberty reserve website. just like that without notice. meaning that even if you have one million dollars in it, it is gone forever. there;s nothing you can do about it. so, when i sign up for a bitcoin account with just my anonymous email and was ready to fund anonymously, i just knew that another liberty reserve disaster is about to happen. paypal is not like that. your account is linked to your bank and there is control. paypal is legally registered but how legal is bitcoin? bitcoin is risky, and it's even more risky than mmm be warned! |

@seun; i've really wondered what benny hin achieved by his visit to nigeria. he didn't bring a new gospel. if the millions of naira spent on the project was invested to improve the lives of even 5 people, it would have been a better achievement. however, i still believe in the reality of God as an eternal Spirit, but i'm not impressed by today's religion |
Seun:with the kind of disapproval she has for pastor Chris ministry now... wondering what was really happening to her then. was she deceived? |
dumodust:you may be correct if you say the Government should ask for help. maybe in terms of bond or anything. But imagine the effect on the economy if the likes of Dangote and all other rich nigerians hoard their dollars in the banks? won't it be better the money is put to use in the economy? Maybe thats why some countries tax money deposited in banks. and company owners pay less tax |
hello naijababe ![]() I miss your posts at the forex signals thread |
some Nigerians have enough dollars in the bank that can help put an end to the dollar scarcity. but prefer to hoard it. they should be made to pay heavy tax on that or liquidate it to help grow the economy |
It’s still theoretically possible for Donald Trump not to become president. But the near-impossibility all depends on the electoral college and the strange US system. Donald Trump might have won the election by getting more of the votes in the electoral college than Hillary Clinton did. But strictly and legally, it’s not the election that just happened that matters: it’s the one where the members of the electoral college go and represent their voters and pick their candidate. That’s due to happen on 12 December, at meetings in each state where all Republican or Democrat representatives – depending on how each state voted – will cast their vote. And it will almost certainly go one way, with most of the electors casting their ballots for Donald Trump and making him President. But that could, theoretically, not happen. Members of the electoral college could potentially change their mind – becoming what is known as a “faithless elector” – and so cast their ballot for somebody else, or not at all. The phenomenon of the faithless voter is giving people hope that perhaps Donald Trump won’t actually become the President of the US. It’s almost impossible that it would make any difference, but it does show that Donald Trump’s path to presidency might not be simple. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-elections/donald-trump-president-electoral-college-faithless-electors-hillary-clinton-mike-pence-a7410636.html |
