I remembered telling one oga here in JANUARY when it was sub N17 that I would pick my WAPCO latter on at sub N9, he thought I was crazy and unrealistic. Prof, in my layman's understanding, Nestle is a defensive stock.
In a situation where FPIs are involved and selling off, we don't expect Nestle to remain static and not partake in the price shedding.
One of the reasons could be attributed to FPIs having quite a large chunk of the total shares; remember Nestle is not even a Nigerian owned coy and has large number of expatriates, I stand to be corrected.
Aside, major panic selling such as the type witnessed this month, it can only take deep pockets to sell 100k block units that can either move the price up or down, which comes once in a while, thus making the stock to maintain its price for a long time even if it's trading at day's low/high intraday.
Just know that some may be watching it as a hawk as the price is going down and getting ready to take advantage of the low price to jump in or increase their stakes.
Nestle is equally a dividend stock, which entering it at low price is more advantageous in terms of price appreciation and dividends.
That's my opinion.

Defensive is a joke. It is a good stock no doubt at good price.

Who knows if these guys may want to handsomely share the little they have MADE SO FAR, then let the stock price do a real slide when the mess start coming up later towards year end, then use the same money they have ARRANGED AS DIVIDENDS to mop up, then later ESCAPE totally, wiping the DIVIDEND HUNTERS and OLD SQUAD?

if you took the time to read about Lafarge Wapco in the last 10 years. You will understand some issue better. It will come good for short-termers that get in now but the Long term of the company is a bit shaky.

@rebekah do you have qrt 3 unauduted report. All you mentioned is been done, this also include sales of loss making subsidary and driving down production cost. If you are still looking at quater 2 , change your out look.

when you look at your finance cost to your earnings. You have to know what to do. Borrowing to pay dividend is just not a sensible thing to do. If you want to raise capital, paying dividend is also not the way to go. So my advice to Wapco really will be pay down on your debts and improve your liquidity ratio and make the company more profitable. Shareholders will enjoy in the long run
