For me,the album of the year was no doubt Asa's self titled album--in my opinion,It was the only PRESS PLAY album of 2008.I could listen to it from track 1 to the last track without skipping a track unlike all the other albums.Added to this is the fact that she's a complete musician as she performs live on stage unlike all d other artistes who are just studio artiste who mime on stage.
Apart 4rm that the album was thought provoking,issues oriented & the language was deep.
My only regret was she was robbed in d major award shows--MOBO n MAMA.
The album is definitely a CLASSIC--an album for all time--as in,e no get expiry date.Its an album I'll still be feeling 50yrs 4rm now when my love 4 rap & hiphop would have faded out.I can't say same 4 the other albums.

1.Dumpin'-2pac ft hussein & papoose---nice beat,tite flow by all rappers and carl thomas was dope on the hook.
2.I love the dough-Notorius B.I.G ft jay-Z, ,,,nice delivery n sick hook by Angela Winbush.
3.Hit 'em up-2pac ft outlawz-my all time favourite out n out diss rap track.
4.been around the world(remix)-p.diddy n Mase.
5.24 hours to live-Mase ft L.O.X--can't rmbr the other artists'--lol

8.Spazmodic-Terry tha rapman n Modenine/2 shortz from a nine-2 shortz n Modenine-,--both rappers taught modenine a thing or two about keepin' it tite lyrically n still being in sync with a beat.Terry was particularly SICK on spazmodic.

10.lean back-Fat joe n terror squad/I like it-Mase n harlem world crew.

Another annoying thing on this thread was the false and unnecessary hype raised by the so called ''gurus'' over the posting of FBT at a particular time.

My top 10 M9 tracks are
1.cry 2.Africa 3.2 shorts from a nine 4.contradiction 5.lagos state of mind 6.spazmodic 7.elbow room 8.Talkin 2 u 9.journey so far and 10.that 1 add small.I've got about 5 tracks jostling 4 that position but hmm,-,-,as per football fan wey I be,I'll choose its a goal.
I just hope he makes the right choices 4 his videos because I was dissapointed he didn't make a video 4 'africa' from d EPU album.

I've followed modenine right 4rm his unreleased IX files album days and I must say he has really stepped up his game lyrically but that is where it ends.I have all his albums except d unreleased IX files n I must say 4 me,This is his worst.I've had PS 4 about 2 weeks, ripped it 2 my lappy n listened 2 it thoroughly n I'm only feeling about 4 tracks-talkn 2 u,follow ur heart,fiyah burn and of course deathblow unlike his previous albums in which I felt as many as 7/8 tracks.
I'm also happy he didn't feature rap artists on any track on this album cos they've always managed to eclipse him although he's better lyrically as they still sound better than him on the beat.
All in all,the album ain't bad but it could have been better.I mean even his previous 2 mixtape albums,malcolm ix n pentium ix were beta than dis PS in my opinion not 2 mntion EPU which was definitely a classic.If I had 2 compile a top 10 favourite m9 tracks list,I'm afraid only talkin 2 u will make it 4rm dis album. I'll rate PS 55/100.

Yeah!Alabai is good.I'm surprised it took him this long to come out.He was on blackface's hardlife 4 naija,forever by paulplay and dancia n without ur love by SunnyNneji to mention a few.The guy is good no doubt
