Romance › Re: What Is Wrong With Your Younger Sibling Getting Married Before You? by SenatorJames(m): 7:32pm On Oct 11, 2013
Though I believe in our rich africa's culture and tradition, but we fail to realize that there is always imperfection in everything. One of it is what we are talking about now.

Where is the family when the younger sister got university admission, while the elders are stil struggling with their 5 credits in WAEC and NECO, or the 4 years in writting JAMB to score 200

what did the family do when the younger sister got a well paid job two months after her NYSC compare to the big aunties that decided to go into trading after 3 years of fruitless job hunting

why cant the relatives and family stop the handsome, caring and florishing young guy, when he walks up to the young and beautiful lady to propose marriage to her, While the big sisters are stil advertising themselves for any interested buyer/man

So its now that the lady should be denied from fulfilling her own destiny.

Its high time we woke up from our slumber. Everybody have their own destiny irrespective of your position in the family

Christianity Etc › Re: Are Churches Really Helping The Poor And Unemployed In Our Society Today? by SenatorJames(m): 11:51am On Oct 11, 2013
What I can just say is that there are many fake pastors and churches, so also many true men of God, which I know should not be strange to believers with heaven's in view.

I said it sometimes in a conference that unemployment, Bad economy, Insecurity, Depression, curruption are the cause of this recent trend of personally owned churches.

Fix all these and see many of them off the street.

@topic. God's established churches help without everybody noticing. Few of the fake churches do to renew their evil power and self-glory while many dont do at all

NYSC › Re: Corpers, What Are Your Plans For The Future? by SenatorJames(m): 1:17am On Oct 11, 2013
@op. It seems there are few of the concerned people hear, most coments are not from the passing out corpers.

My Youthful advice is to be patience first, either you have plan already or not. Take time to meet people that are there, ask question about anywhere you want to apply to for work because there are many scammers outside. Its not neccessary you are duped before you are wise if you are not the "I can handle my life" type. If its business meet people that are into it, their experience will help you alot, even thou they may not be a graduate.

Also please minimize your spending. This is not the time to upgrade your phone from Asha 200 to Tablet, these shirts no longer meet up with my status, there will always be latest design, you are now in the real world, that time will surely come after little endurance and self denial.

Lastly be prayerful and live a holy life, you can make it without cheating, you can get job without opening your lap. Dont feel ashame when you see your mate making it, your time will also come and by then there will also be millions of your mate that will stil be behind. So dont let something called "Depression" lead you to "Desperation"

We will meet at the top

Family › Can You Entertain A Guest With Its Food? by SenatorJames(op): 2:57pm On Oct 07, 2013
It was a funny moment for me when I visited my old school friend (now married) yesterday. He called me to come and play with him during weekend, which I called him before going. As my usual doing of buying something along whenever i'm paying someone a visit. I bought two meat pie for his son, one fruit wine, two slice breads and two can malt. I was given a warm greeting on arrival by the family, which I also reciprocated with a nice smile. I handed the gifts to the wife and started watching movie on dstv while I continue chatting with his child and father (my friend). My friend called his wife to entertain me after like 40mins. To my suprise she just brought out one of the slice bread with meat stew and a can malt. it's not that i went there to eat a special food, but being what I presensed to you as a gift is what is just funny to me.

Nairalanders, can you entertain a guest with what it brought as a gift for the family.

Taking note:
-That my friend is no more a bachelor
-They are aware of my coming
-Its sunday evening.

Lets hear you

Nairaland General › Do You Feel Excited About Nigeria's Independence Day? by SenatorJames(op): 1:12am On Oct 01, 2013
Firstly, let me congratulate all Nigerians, most expecially Nairalanders Happy Independence day. Gone are the days when we are all excited as a citizen to celebraete our Passover Night from the land of Egypt called Colonial era. But its a pity today that its when Labaran Maku or Abba Moro announces a public holiday, that we remember October 1st as a memorable day or when the broadcasting stations are doing what they are paid to do. Billions of Naira will stil go for today's mourning or celebration of our dear country. With the current situation of the old giant of Africa which is visible to a nursery one baby; Governance, Education, Judiciary, Health, Enviroment, Aviation, Security, Election process, Unemployement rate, Economy, Agriculture, Crime rate and our Reputation. Do you feel excited about our independence day celebration and how do you plan to spend today?

Events › Why Do You Celebrate Your Birthday? by SenatorJames(op): 2:31am On Sep 07, 2013
Birthday celebration is a get-together party where friends, neigbours and well wishers are invited to dance, eat and dine with the celebrant in remembrance of the day he/she was born. But as good as it sounds, not everybody call for birthday party and there is no one that doesn't has a date of birth. Its even the parents that celebrated it for some children when they were young.

To me:
*I believe Birthday party should be a celebration of a Milestone and not just "because I have the money".
*A symbol that your existence has profited your world.
*A sign that your departure will create a big vaccum

The question is:
when should one celebrate his/her birthday?
How often?
What should be the determining factor(s)?

Whao!!! Today is my BIRTHDAY.

Exponental: I have an idea....... I wont share it here so somebody wont outsmart me.
see African mentality. That's why we will remain as developing countries till 3013. Do you know that its not the person that innovated most of the inventions are the original owner of the idea. With proper step-wise documentation of ideas, they are where they are today.

Do you know that there are alots of African local herbs that works better in the olden days than #50,000 modern medicines? But because of selfishness and lack of understanding, they all perish with our fore fathers.
I understood your plight, but you just have to trust somebody no matter what. Find someone with good mentality to share your idea with. He/she can direct you and re-shappen your idea for better maximization.

Education › Re: The Festival Called ASUU by SenatorJames(m): 10:30pm On Aug 30, 2013
Its a pity that Nigeria political system had left the work force with STRIKE as the only means to get what they want from the government.

My six years old cousine asked me that; Is strike the surname of ASUU? I asked why? He said because they always mention strike any time they mention ASUU

@topic. Its a very good initiative, but they must involve all categories of citizen to be a success; Traditional council, Religion leaders, student bodies, Legal practitioners, teachers, NGO.

Please must we tribalize everything? I reason with Ngwakwe about exempting Lagos. Its because of the heterogenous nature of the residents which has been aiding the development of Lagos state. On the other hand, if Lagos is exempted, it will look as if we Yoruba had sold our inherittance. If implemented, other tribe will have no choice than to dance to the tone of the music.

God bless Yorubaland, God bless Nigeria
Christianity Etc › Re: Adeboye, Oyedepo, Olukoya, Others Converge To Deliver Suntai... by SenatorJames(m): 8:05pm On Aug 30, 2013
Let me just make something clear. These people are not the miracle worker but almighty God. Its just grace they found and any other true believer to be use for his good work.
On Suntai's case, our God dont perform Magic but a Miracle. For you to receive anything good from God (James 1:17), you have to be his own by salvation, be holy, call upon him from a pure heart and trust him for healing.
Do you know his relationship with God?
Do you know his source of power?
Do you also know that its God that saved his life till now, how many people escaped his type of accident?
Even those men of God you mention can only pray to God they cant force him to do anything (Omnipotent) and like Pastor Adeboye, he prays for this country alot without saying it out because he his not a politician.

fifi007: more questions:
1. why didn't anybody hear the sound of the shot? double barrels make a loud bang!
2. when cleaning guns, you dismantle lots of stuff and its traditional to look into the barrel from the end where the bullet enters the gun, so unless he was smooching the gun to get a gene out of it, it doesn't make sense.
Sir, are u a policeman, soldier, Navy, Airforce or............? Because I dey fear the way you are analysing how different type of gun sound and how it is been cleaned.

Dont tell me you learnt all these in Jet-lee or James bond film

Politics › Train Inter-state Passengers, Stranded In Lagos by SenatorJames(op): 3:42pm On Aug 27, 2013
Railway as one of the best means of transportation, not only because of the low cost, but with exhibition also attached to it, has not been fully revived in Nigeria. Passengers willign to travel by train from Lagos to Abeokuta, Ibadan, Iwo, Osogbo, Ede, Ikirun, Offa and Ilorin are currently stranded in Lagos. People have started assembling in Iddo, Agege and Ijoko substation as early as 8am in expectation of the train, which the normal take off time is 9am. People have been stress-up by now because no train has surface in Ijoko as at this 3:45pm I am reporting.
In the enquiry I made as a patrotic Nigerian, who has the love of the mal-treated masses at heart, found out that the delay was as a result of a damage caused on the rail track by a tipper at Itoki sub-station (between Agbado and Ijoko).
The damage has not only delayed the inter-state but also hinder free movement of people within Lagos and Sango. This problem would have been a small issue as it been the two rail tracks are good. They also keep people waiting for interchange everyday when two trains are coming in opposite direction because of the single track functioning. I pity the daily hussler who wil be waiting for train in the evening to their respective destinations. I hope the concerned authority take neccessary action on it.
