tunex23: ASUU beta not call off the strike, if not the purpose of the strike has been defeated, If truely the FG has d student @ heart they should sign the agreement and release the 100Billion, ASUU knows FG will not pay that money, it very obvious. That idiot Wike coming on Air 2 rant that they wil sack all the lecturers is really a big joke! That can never happen and it com to show that ASUU were right, FG are the one playin politics here.
SOLUTION: FG should pay ASUU all their 5month salaries without delay, reason is becos the FG were the reason ASUU embark on the strike, if FG has been sincere enuf and keep their own side of the 2009 bargain ASUU wouldn't hav gone on strike in the first place.
2. Let president Goodluck Sign the agreement and the attorney general of the federation since we know that FG are not trustworthy. I don't c anytin wrong in dis as far as FG are really sincere 2 release those money.
3. The 100billion should b release wit immediate effect since it was part of the agreement, FG keeps lieing 2 us that they release 100billion which all the Fed univ said they did not c any. This still shows FG are not sincere @ all.
If this 3 requirement are fulfilled am 100% sure ASUU will call off within the next 48hrs. FG should simply implement this and stop deceiving nigerians. I know some pple wil disagree wit me, it normal but the truth of the matter is the problem is with FG not ASUU @ all.

So you are so daft not to know that the new labour law( which deals with the relationship between an employer and his employee) which came to effect last year requires that any strike embark upon by an employee exceeding THREE MONTHS shall be PAY FREE! Secondly, there is no where in our laws where the president is required to sign an agreement reached with any union personally except such agreement is belateral(between 2 countries)! So for ASUU to ask the president to sign this agreement personally when the secretary to the ministry of education has already signed is a clear violation of the law!

Please always endevour to get your facts right before posting!

Oshiomole's words sound more like: "When your husband die, you want to kill people on the road..." The issue seems to be that she put her goods on the road rather than off the road(pedestrian path)

engrfcuksmtin: Before now I would have attacked you as a sympathizer of ASUU and somebody in the system, but with the current development your assertions is not far from the truth. Ranks within the ASUU are suppose to review this strike and put an end to it. Everybody is aware that GEJ held meeting with ASUU and had an agreement with him. Being the first time a sitting president will make such move, they would have respect the office and to call of the strike. Then if at the long run the president did not keep to his promises they can cry out, give 30days ultimate with massive public awareness then go on strike with the backing of the sympathy of most Nigerians. THE FACT IS THAT ASUU CAN NOT FIGHT THE ISSUE OF ADEQUATE FUNDING OF THE EDUCATION SECTOR ALONE AND WIN. It will take the the combined efforts of all stake holders in the education sector: NUT, ASUP, ASUU, NANS, PTA, SANU, NASU Nadal every other unions related to education at all levels. ASUU should just make do with whatever they have been able to get from the strike I.e earned allowances.

abeg joor! The most important thing is for ASUU to call off! If that is done, I don't see any reason why UNIBEN will continue! Afterall, more prominent persons have died in UNIBEN before and it didn't declare holiday because of that!

IBADAN— A 48 year-old man, Mr. Sanni Idowu, has been remanded in Agodi Prison, Ibadan by a magistrate court for allegedly raping his daughter.
Until his arrest, the 48-year-old man was living at Ifedapo Amuloko area of Ibadan.
The girl, 15, was said to have been de-flowered by her father at the age of 10.
It was further gathered that the accused who has two wives had sent the mother of the girl away while the second wife has been ill for quite sometime.
According to the charge sheet marked MI/15079/c/2013, the accused was caught on October 23, 2013 at about 09:15 a. m.
The prosecutor, Mr. S. Ogunremi said: “That you Sanni Idowu on October 23, 2013 at Ifedapo, Amuloko area of Ibadan, in the magisterial district did have unlawful carnal knowledge of one girl(name withheld) age 15 years without her consent.
“The offence contravened section 357 and punishable under section 358 of the Criminal Code Cap. 38 Vol II Laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.” The daughter said the father threatened to kill her if she told anybody.
At the arraignment of the accused, he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate S. A Oyediran adjourned the case to December 9 for hearing.

Where is the 'human face' in governance?

Woke up with strength and vigour this morning and was up to face today with all hopes and aspirations but was sad & almost started crying after watching this video.

I've been an advocate of leaders been strong at all time with will power to carry out leadership responsibilities. And that emotional leaders don't go far but certainly not this way.

In leadership and governance, there's a place for 'Human face' no matter the circumstances. Widows to the best of my knowledge are integral part of our society and if we don't apply human face when dealing with them, am afraid we are far from getting there as a people.

Two wrongs indeed can never make things right and as such, can't fathom why the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams A. O. will treat this widow like this and even tell her to go and die when she's struggling to provide food for her family. I think it would've been far better to make her pay a fine for her wrong doing than this humiliation.

The poor widow knelt before the imperial governor, a former labour leader, begging for her little means of livelihood to be saved. She pleaded that she's widow. But her pleas fell on the governor's deaf ear. In what could be regarded as the most unkindest cut of all, the governor said the widowed woman should "go and die"!
