UzuegbuProsper:These are the words of a good person. May you be lucky in all your endeavours!! |
ameri9ja:Thanks. We are great because our members are great! Now to the question at hand, well, you have people over the centuries who claim to have encountered an entity who told them he was timeless and that he created the universe. You don't claim to have encountered anything. Your position is that they are all lying.I am timeless and I created the universe. Now everyone who reads this thread can truthfully claim to have encountered an entity who told them he was timeless and he created the universe. Are you impressed? A multitude of unreliable testimonies do not add up to truth. Well, clearly, there are many things science and logic cannot explain. Clearly there is a spiritual world, hence things like prophesies, sightings, demons and such. Your theory cannot even start to explain any of them.I can explain those. They are ordinary events that are believed to be supernatural due to a poor understanding of how things actually work. Religion, on the other hand, can, to the last detail.Human imagination, when freed from the shackles of reality, can explain absolutely anything, but such explanations are likely to be wrong. And not through theories or intuition but through direct contact with supernatural entities. How do you determine that an entity you're in contact with is (1) not a product of your imagination, and (2) is a supernatural entity? Can you give me your best example of a person who "made contact with a supernatural entity" so we can investigate the truth of it right here? You, on the other hand, don't claim to have encountered anything. The scientists themselves have said that over 90% of reality, the universe, is made up of dark matter. And they have admitted they don't know what that dark matter is or its nature. Spiritual world? Astonishing.I fail to see the connection between dark matter and the 'spiritual world,. If you can prove this connection, you'll surely win a Nobel prize! |
luvmijeje:To be brutally frank, I haven't studied the Big Bang theory. Cosmology is boring to me. I accept it because I trust the scientific community that came up with the theory. It makes sense to trust the scientific community because their theories are the basis for the technologies we rely upon. This trust is not absolute, because I know that scientists do make mistakes, but they are infinitely more trustworthy than any religion. Seun is that not the definition of Faith? Seun, how are you different from the average ChristianNo. Faith is when you just choose to believe something, and to disregard any evidence/fact that contradicts what you have chosen to believe. |
Does that include widows? I guess they made the wrong choice of not bringing their husbands back to life. How silly of them. /s |
luvmijeje:I don't believe in it. I accept it as the best explanation that we have at this time. If a better explanation comes along, I'll embrace it. Oya come and answer these simple questions.Numerous observations and experiments that support the theory. One of these observations is that the universe is constantly expanding. Have you tried experimenting this in your room i.e have you make any attempt to make something out of nothing?I don't see how my inability to create something from nothing proves the existence of an all-powerful sentient creature who needs to be worshipped. |
Cucumber plants often suffer from powdery mildew disease. Caused by the Sphaerotheca fuliginea and the Erysiphe cichoracearum fungi, powdery mildew appears as white, powdery spots on the leaves. In shady growing conditions, the small spots often enlarge and merge until the white substance covers entire leaves, stems and stalks. Of all the pests that feed on cucumber leaves, the leafhopper (Empoasca spp.) is most likely to turn the foliage white.http://homeguides.sfgate.com/causes-cucumber-leaves-turn-white-73627.html https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/07/Powdery_mildew.JPG/400px-Powdery_mildew.JPG https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powdery_mildew |
ameri9ja:Most scientists believe that the big bang was the beginning of time. If so, then there was never a time when nothing existed. If so, the question of what existed before the big bang is a bad question, like asking for the square root of -1, or the letter that comes before A. 2. How did things go from non-living to living? This is called abiogenesis. Scientists have been able to demonstrate that many of the complex chemicals that make up living things can arise spontaneously in the kind of environment that existed around the time that life started. But they don't know exactly how the first living thing came to be. It must have been an extremely rare and unlikely event, but it only had to happen once during a period of billions of years. People are rarely struck by lightning, but you wouldn't be surprised to learn that one person out of 1.2 billion Africans was struck by lightning once. 3. How did things change from animals to man - in other words, how did man come about, being so completely different from other animals. There was never a change from animals to man, because we are animals. We are apes. We are naked, like elephants and hippos. We are highly intelligent, like killer whales and dolphins. We utterly dominate the other animals because our ancestors found themselves in a unique environment where those who possessed bigger brains were more likely to reproduce than those who were stronger and faster, but dumber. |
Preprobiotics:Cool. |
What is the source of the molasses? Sugar cane farming? |
Do you sell in kilos? |
He didn't refuse to pay the fare. He didn't have the money. |
jidestroud:Your corn looks amazing. |
The boy knew exactly what to do to avoid those deadly horns. Good for him. |
lovelygurl:Yeah, mostly. It took a very long time for me to discover the root cause of the problem. I was barking up the wrong tree until this afternoon. |
And we're back! |
shortgun:Really? I cannot identify it, but it seems to have a hooded neck, which suggests that it's some kind of cobra. |
Apologies, Ill look into it as soon as I can. |
Dear Nairalanders, This is to inform you that Nairaland is experiencing a serious problem. The infrastructure that powers Nairaland has become unusually slow and unstable, which has led to a lot of downtime. The cause of this slowness and instability is unknown to me, but I am doing my best to figure out what's going on and fix it. I wish to appeal to everybody to please bear with me, and please note that I may not be able to process any orders until this issue has been diagnosed and fixed. Best regards, Seun Osewa. |
Sorry. I have been trying to figure out what's causing this for hours. |
hadex90:I am also interested in this information @tokyobulls |
I've never owned a goat. I wonder what it would be like. At least you can eat them when you're tired of them. |

Can anyone explain why Arabic deserves to be on that list? Even French barely deserves to be there, not to mention Arabic. There is no non-religious reason for an average student to learn Arabic, as far as I know. |
omohoneyland:This is a terrible idea. Give yourself 24 strokes of the cane and never speak of it again unless you want your stubborn boy to become a stubborn Boko Haram terrorist. Reserve another 6 strokes of the cane for the person that gave you this terrible idea that will do you no good. If your son is stubborn then study him well and find out what is really bothering him and then use wisdom and intelligence to persuade him to seek a better future. You cannot fight stubborness with stubborness. You fight it with intelligence and sincerity and love. If your family is poor then the way forward is to give your children a real education that will allow them to rise beyond what they came from. Send them to the best schools you can afford and encourage them to take their studies seriously. Make sure they choose professions that they love and which are in demand and lucrative. Learning Arabic has never made any poor person rich. |
missyadorable:Report to the police and show the messages to many people including her kids to ensure that when he kills her, he will be the prime suspect, and there will be lots of people who can testify against him. Also, she should not worry about spiritual attacks because they don't work. She should get some pepper spray discreetly and also be more security-conscious generally. |
missyadorable:Is your husband a psychopath? Most people won't "deal with you" for loving them. What does that even mean? |
angels09:Will fencing ones farm and/or hiring and armed maiguard work to keep them out? |
Used vegetable oil can probably be mixed with the food of omnivorous animal such as pigs and chickens in small quantities (I would start with 5% and adjust it based on how they handle it). It may not be good for their long term health, but they don't usually get to live long anyway. |
It seems unlikely that anyone would be stupid enough to remove the acting president's religion, which is the religion of the majority of educated people, from the curriculum while leaving others in. Perhaps the news is wrong. |
