PoliticsRe: Arabic Words and Letters on Naira Notes by Seun(mod): 5:07pm On Nov 01, 2005
Let's say that the words were written in Yoruba, my mother tongue, instead of arabic. Would my stomach be filled with food, or would my bank account be filled with money because of that? How is this issue important at all?
Jokes EtcRe: Prostitute at Bar by Seun(mod): 5:00pm On Nov 01, 2005
It may be funny to very youg girls who feel they are beautiful, but it's also a mean joke to those who are married and perhaps not so beautiful.
Nairaland GeneralRe: dambuski in da house by Seun(mod): 4:52pm On Nov 01, 2005
Hello dabumski,

Welcome to Nairaland. I'm so glad that Fabian. invited you. Can you tell us more about yourself and what you'd like to gain from this forum? Do you know that there are lots of singles online (if you're single) and married people too? That there are male and female Nairaland members as young as 14 and as old as 40?

Seun.
FamilyRe: Tell Us About Your Marriage by Seun(mod): 4:45pm On Nov 01, 2005
fabian, your account is lovely. Thanks for dsharing and I hope more women will come on board. As I told you by PM, you have proved yourself to be the "most womanly woman" on this forum. The adage, "what a man can do, a woman can do better", is now more believable.

Part 2, please! grin (there is no competition here, each story is unique!)
Forum GamesRe: I Remember When: by Seun(mod): 4:35pm On Nov 01, 2005
Fabian, we'll surely miss you, but on Wednesday we'll meet you again!

I remember when we were younger and whenever there was a quarrel between me and my junior ones, they would start crying and my parents would always take their side over me. I remember this one time when my brother spontaneously started crying with no one touching him at all. Then for the first time my parents had to take my side and warn him about such deception. Unfortunately, this was not enough.

EducationRe: OAU-Ife Students Thread: Great IFE! by Seun(mod): 2:26pm On Nov 01, 2005
I spent 3 sessions studying a 5 year course in Great Ife, and one session operating as NFA. The one thing I would like to change about that school is their tendency towards "Aluta" (student demonstrations) and ASUU strikes.
CrimeRe: Is There Any Crime That Justifies Execution? by Seun(mod): 2:24pm On Nov 01, 2005
The gargantuan premise for the aforeseen situation as regards infant mortality and corporal punishment, when advanced with the theorems regarding chemical castration, capital punishment, and other melodramatic accomplishments of martial law and criminal di-empowerment, are a nullity!

Problems reading the above paragraph? That is what it's like to follow these complex debates between nferyn and allonym!
PhonesRe: UK Residents Can Buy MTN Recharge Cards & Send to Nigeria by Seun(mod): 1:16pm On Nov 01, 2005
This product is also known as the MTN Nigeria Top-up Card. From the press release:
MTN Nigeria and Global-Nomi (UK) have entered into a strategic partnership to make MTN Nigeria Recharge (Top-up) cards available in the United Kingdom.

This first of its kind service allows Nigerians living abroad to buy airtime for and send to their friends and family in Nigeria.

For as little as £2.50, your friends and relation can buy MTN Nigeria Top-Up Card from any airtime retailer or call 0800 032 5379 in the UK for details. They simply scratch and send your PIN numbers which you then load using *555*1*12 digits PIN # OK/YES
Its another exclusive value added service for Y'ello Subscribers.

Interesting service, but this is a service that any UK-based retailer with a Nigerian partner can provide. This innovation, I am sure, came from the UK-based calling card company Globi-nomi, and not MTN!
FamilyRe: Help: I'm Married But In Love With Another Woman by Seun(mod): 10:42am On Nov 01, 2005
Hello JWdayise,

I'm sorry that our people have been so harsh in their replies to your topic.

I think the way out is to spend more time with your wife talking and doing the things that you've found yourself doing with this woman. If your wife objects to this change, don't mind her: just make sure you spend more time with her (your wife) regardless.

Treat her like a queen, and hopefully she'll start to behave like one. Try your best to leave this other woman alone so she can find a single man who also loves her but is in a position to marry her without wrecking anybody's life.

Wishing you the best,
Seun.

BusinessRe: Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) by Seun(mod): 6:37pm On Oct 31, 2005
Transcript of a recent conversation with a friend on this topic:

Me: Any ideas on this Transnational Corporation thingie?
Friend: its rubbish and its bound to break up
Me: what do they actually do? Your views are wanted o!
Friend: they want to be like the big industrial business groups in advanced countries like Sumitomo, Mitsubishi, Krupp among others who use their massive size to dominate every sector
Me: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-2703.0.html
Friend: of a targeted market including sales, all stages of manufacture, research. they use their size to seize the market in their country and others.
Friend: its a good idea but the way nigerians are going about it is a dumb one.
Me: hmmm. In other words, this is a way for Obj and his "friends" in the business sector to retain control of all sectors of the economy even after he leaves power?
Me: yes. example, they buy out Zinox and then open 774 big computer marts around the country and as many computer schools and they buy the haulage company handling all the other importers.
Friend: they then control the prices of the others by rote.
Friend: they buy the buildings they use and cost cut radically driving out every body else. it is a monopolists dream.
Friend: they are heavily diversified and if the software section is failing their other sectors will hold them up eg light and heavy manufacturing, railways etc
BusinessTransnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) by Seun(mod): 5:46pm On Oct 31, 2005
The Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc is "a Nigerian world-class mega-corporation managed by Nigerians and wholly owned by Nigerians." Transcorp was launched on the 21st of July 205 at the Presidential Villa Abuja by President Olusegun Obasanjo."

Their website is at www.transcorpnigeria.com and their tagline is ", great things are happening".

In my several minutes of research, there is one tiny little detail that I've not been able to figure out. What exactly do they produce or sell? If you know the answer, please let me know!

RomanceRe: How Do You Tell a Guy You Don't Like Him? by Seun(mod): 10:20pm On Oct 30, 2005
And remember this too:
1) If you need advice about how to deal with a woman (or girl) ask a woman.
2) If you need advice about how to deal with a man (or boy) ask a man!

Tell him you already have a boyfriend, and that next time he's asking a girl out he should not use such crude language.
