Yes, but don't they know that, hanks to the exploits of their Al Qaeda brethren, acts of terrorism will be taken with the highest level of seriousness by the government and even the international community? For a political group that wants to survive, the idea of declaring themselves as a bunch of terrorists is like commiting suicide!

Hehe. Well, I just wanted to mention that we have so many men on this forum. And they are very aggressive, too, once you post your pics! grin

I hope you will be able to truly enjoy the forum; I really do!

CrimeRe: This is Barbaric! 11 Year Old Set Ablaze in Lagos. God Have Mercy on Us. by Seun(mod): 5:44pm On Oct 26, 2005
According to Edward Popoola, the cameraman wasn't a professional journalist. The horrific video tape was sold to them by a member of the public who decided on his own to film the whole scene. I'm not sure that it would have been easy for any civilian to prevent what happened in the end.

If we allow jungle justice to prevail, then anyone who hates you can easily get you killed by accusing you of being a kidnapper. That's not right.

Christianity EtcRe: Nigeria and Its Church Phenomenom by Seun(mod): 3:09pm On Oct 26, 2005
It becaomes a rip off if you were promised sumthing for a fee and after payment you never recieved 'exactly' what you were promised.
Nigerian Pastors promise prosperity to those who give and pay tithes, but many such Nigerians are still poor. Do the churches refund their money when it is discovered that their tithes have not "opened the gates of heaven" as promised?

I don't know of any that force you to pay. You give freely.
Does the fact that a scammer's victim has willingly sent his money make it any less a scam?

THis issue of disrespect for the dead is really getting on my nerves. Stella Obasanjo did not kill the jorunalist, so the idea that she deserves to die is unintelligent, barbaric, and grotesque.

Wow. How old is your boyfriend? If he thinks you are difficult to cope with, then why is he still with you? If your normal friends like you and do not think you are a pain, then when why do even you even bother having a boyfriend?

No mater how angelic you are, there will be people who will not want to like you. You should not treat them as your friends. You should go out there and find the people who like the kind of person that you are, and befriend them, and stick with them.

I remember when we started out MobileNigeria.com, and it's astonishing how far we've gone since then.

Here is what my first forum looked like in the first month:
http://web.archive.org/web/20041022113854/http://www.mobilenigeria.com/

And here's the same forum (MobileNigeria.com) after two months:
http://web.archive.org/web/20041213121007/http://www.mobilenigeria.com/

That first version of MobileNigeria.com started around October 2004.

What do you think can be done to arrest this menace? A corrupt police force is a really dangerous threat in any society. For them to actually collect bribes from scammers and protect them? Scary!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nike4Luv -- She's Amazing! by Seun(mod): 12:18pm On Oct 25, 2005
I'm thinking that, if all this is true, then Nike4luv should also be in our conflict resolution team (currently only Greatpeter and Vexxy are in the team!)

What do you all think? Nike4luv for the conflict resolution team? Will people listen to her, knowing that she's younger than them?
CrimeRe: Mob Killing of Suspected Kidnappers: A Possible Reason by Seun(mod): 11:17am On Oct 25, 2005
My Response:
This is an insightful response, and I wil post it on the forum, but maybe the first kidnapper that confessed was not a real kidnaper but only confessed because he was being tortured?

Do you know that if they suspect you and they start torturing you, you will confess to anything they want just so they will leave you alone (and maybe take you to the police)? Do you agree with this?

Further Discussion
I will agree with you that if the police was not corrupt this mob lynching habit may not have developed to this extent.
CrimeMob Killing of Suspected Kidnappers: A Possible Reason by Seun(mod): 11:14am On Oct 25, 2005
Yes, Yes and Yes all what you said is true.

The problem is that when new currency is introduce to circulation, so many people will believe that they can make money by kidnapping the kid.

My believe is that the kidnappers, they sent by somebody, or what do you think about my point, so I will use this opportunity to advice my fellows that if they cut any kidnappers, Please Let's call on the Government to arrest the perpetrators.

Last wek Tuesday, there was incident that happened in Abeokuta in Ogun State at Sabo area, before the inccident happened,In the upper lask week people at Sabo in Abeokuta here said that they caight one kidnapper in there area and they challenged him, after challenging but he refuse to answer, but after some little torture he started confessing and they too him to Police Station. Do you believe that people at Sabo said that the Police released the kidnapper without informing them? Look at that!

This make them to hold a meeting, that if they catch any kidnappers around there premises or in Sabo area in Abeokuta, in the following week which is lask week Tuesday, they caught comfirmed kidnappers in there area which is Sabo in Abeokuta, so without wasting of time the people started beating them seriously and they confessed, and after their confessing they said set fire on to them instantly and burned in arch with the aid of tyre and fire.

So, who do you want blame?

PhonesRe: MTN Nigeria is a Failure: True or False? by Seun(mod): 10:42am On Oct 25, 2005
They have been known to deduct such credits after the fact. I know a lady that stoped making calls on her MTN line because each time she loaded a recharge card on her phone, the amount will imediately be deducted by the MTN billing system because of free calls she made on her phone one weekend when their system wasn't working properly!

Nairaland GeneralRe: How Does One Judge What is Right and What is Wrong? by Seun(mod): 10:25am On Oct 25, 2005
Most of us Nigerians are very religious and will answer this question very easily: "I judge what is right and what is wrong based on God's word!" But when pressed further you'll discover that they engage in socialy approved but unbiblical acts like premarital sex, lying, et cetera and they will do more of the same tommorrow.

Let me tell you how I judge right and wrong. If I think it is right, it is right. If I think it is wrong, it is wrong. That is, after analyzing the consequences of such actions on my life and life of others I care about. For example, unlike many Nairaland members:
- I don't think homosexuality is wrong because it harms no-one. Also, I happen to think that parental domination of an adult is wrong, but most Nigerians think that it is right. if I think it is wrong, it is wrong!
