I'd keep coming to work and at the end of each month I'll demand my salary! Wwyd if you discovered that your dad has a secret son? |
Mr Fabian! |
Let me give you a possible reason why religion leads to more crime: - In a religious country, when someone is killed people say, "it is God that protects" or "may their souls rest in peace in the bosom of our Lord". or "anyway, we know that she is All talk, no action. - In a less religious country, people say, "how can we prevent this unbelievably awful incident from happening in the future?" because they believe that life is very valuable and after death there's nothing. How about that? |

I'm thinking, "nddy needs to tell us who could do such a wicked thing!" |
Cohabitation is a practice of doubtful value but I don't think it's a matter that should provoke any indignation. Honesty before marriage and a strong determination to make the marriage work will probably go a longer way to ensure success, but cohabitation shouldn't be treated as if it's so bad. IAH: If you're an adult, your parents have no say in the matter of whether you choose to live with your fiance or not. If you're leaving with your fiance, voluntarily, and they start trying to force you out, then you can call the police. I live in Nigeria. |
What about Donald Duke? Everyone seems to think highly of him, but I hope it's not just because he's handsome! |
kikelomo: the reason why society accepts male infidelity more than female infidelity is simply because women are more tolerant of infidelity in men. Women make up 50% of society, you know, and if women decide to be less tolerant of male infidelity, "society" will follow suit! I think it's wrong to cheat on your partner if you're married, or if you're not married but your partner is a virgin. If you've given your partner the impression that you're not sleeping with anyone else, but you go ahead and do it, then you're lying, which is wrong! |
If you're not married yet: 1) First of all, try to address the reason why he feels the need to be manipulative, and in a non-threatening way let him know exactly how you feel about it. Just express the emotions and try not to put him on the defensive. 2) If that doesn't work, I guess you'll have to drop him, and let him know why so maybe he'll change before going into the next relationship. It's a pity that woman have a shorter time window within which they must choose a partner, but that's more of a reason for you to quickly drop out of relationships that aren't going to lead to a hapy marriage, right? So that Mr. Wrong doesn't prevent you from meeting Mr. Right? |
I'm satisfied with the statistical information that people who live together before marriage do not enjoy lower divorce rate as a result. Someone has speculated that there's a third factor involved, "desire for marriage", which is responsible for the increased practice of cohabitation as well as the higher divorce rate in certain couples. I am convinced. People need information they can apply to their daily lives. |
When you're dealing with a manipulative or abusive person, or a though circumstance in life, be strong! When you're dealing with people who appreciate and respect you, people who love and care for you, people who want the best for you, be sweet! When people like you, like them back! Don't disqualify people who treat you well just because you think they are "below your standards". When you have people that love you around, it is more important to be sweet. When you live among sharks, it is more important to be strong. If you find yourself in relationships with manipulative or abusive men, terminate those and construct relationships with people who will encourage you to show more of your sweet side! Or what do you think? |
Who is the most intelligent lady on this forum? |
From the articles: 1) People who live together before marriage have a higher divorce rate. 2) This is probably because those who live together before marriage value marriage less than those who don't. My conclusion: If 'my' woman says, "let's live together for a while before the decision", perhaps I should start 'shopping' for another one? |
A lot of people are killed every day, but some few people make it into the news because they are pretty. If we really want to make a difference, we have to be ready to be serious about it, and do something tangible that prevents such things from happening in the future. If we know that we're not ready to take any concrete steps towards helping future victims, then let's not talk about issues like this at all. All it does is makes people feel sad and depressed. |
What if Greatpeter denies being the person? |
Strength is not everything that matters, you know. What about kindness, sweetness, understanding, love, intelligence, and maybe ambition? I have met a handful of women that are indeed strong, but use this strength in the wrong way, and I find that I don't like them at all! The kind of strength I think I'll appreciate in a woman is the ability to maintain a clear mind when she's in a bad situation, and work her way out of such a situation. I don't think I care whether such a strong (and sweet) woman is white, black, or purple. It's hard enough finding a perfect match that I think it would be silly to rule out any race or ethnic group. |
I'm sorry that this happened. You'll feel better about it tommorrow! |
If the white girls are "nice, understanding and willing" you'd better go for them. Life is too short for us to allow prejudice to rob us of happiness. I would take a 'nice, understanding and willing' white girl if I had the opportunity! |
I think that ultimately, in a democracy, everyone has the right to express his opinions. However, if someone's opinions are expressed in such a way as to constitute a security threat to the country, then the government has to find a legal means of shutting that person up. A government primarily exists for the seucrity of it's people. However, in a media outlet - newspaper, TV, or an Internet forum like this one, there are private interests at work. If something you've written or said is deemed not to be in the best interest of your favorite newspaper, TV station or Internet community, they have a right not to publish it. Your recourse is such a situation will be to take the fight to your own publication, TV station, blog or website. Sometimes we have to censor people on this forum, and I don't feel guilty about it at all, because I know that if they wish they can go to www.blogger.com and publish the information on their own weblogs. By the time such a person has been able to develop as much traffic as this forum, he or she will understand why censorship is often necessary! |
I'm thinking, "how come only nikeluv can see it?" |
I'm thinking these two boys are so funny! |
Some forms of cosmetic surgery also have health benefits. Liposuction, for example, removes fat from your body which I suppose should make you healthier (not to talk happier). If there's a really serious problem and I have the money to pay for an operation, I think Ill do it. |
I wish to have a friend with privileges this week! |
I'm thinking "what do such young girls with lovely dads need a boyfriend for?" |
I'm thinking "I love your dad". |
I use clusty sometimes, but the problem is that it's only useful for a minority of searches in which the meaning of the search term isn't obvious. Moreso, it depends on other search engines for its results, and I have never really found it useful. For example, a search for "Java" could mean a programming language, a beverage, or an island called 'Java', but if I search for "java" using clusty the folders I get end up all being related to the programming language. Now that's not very useful! |
Why would a reputable newspaper like the London Times report about a "rubbish statistic". |
Welcome to Nairaland! Pictures, please . |
Why won't they want to write about their marriage? |
