I prefer deep colors like Navy blue/green. I can wear a pink t-shirt, but I certainly won't be proud of it! |
adesodgi, I was just trying to make him understand how the average web reader behaves. If you click a link on a site and you get a 404 "Page Not Found" error won't you just close the window? What if there are 5, 6, 7 dead links? And how do you evaluate a wesite when every click ends in "Page Not Found?" Also, knowing that the site is for a magazine makes me want to push for higher standards. I'm sure that guru2 is up to the task! |
I come from a family of "born again" people. I literally believed that God wanted us to wait, and I did not associate with people who didn't want to wait. I even thought that self-service, which I 'fell into' about once every month, was a sin. If you had asked me then, "how does one judge what is right and what is wrong" I would have told you, "based on God's word as found in the bible, especially the New Testament!" Now that those beliefs are gone and I don't have to wait for religious reasons the habit/lifestyle is still there and I haven't really found any good reason to change my lifestyle. Even if I decided today that I want to have sex, the whole process of dating (convincing a girl that I love her just to have sex with her) seems like so much work for so little profit. In other words, I believe that the 0-2 minutes of orgasm at the end of a sex session is just not worth the enormous investment in time and money that goes into a relationship. Am I wrong? |
Because I am a 23 year old virgin and it seems like it would be a shame if I end up with a girl who has been with other men. It would be as if my (relatively rare) decision to wait has been pointless, and I don't want to believe that! |
I haven't seen your face, so I can't comment on whether those eyes wil look good on you. Do you want a transplant? |
We supported him and he won! Congratulations, 2Face, now send us your money so we can promote this site the way we've promoted you! |
I would smash all the dictators in Africa; and all those people who are determined to prevent us from moving forward so they can continue to rule over us by force! |
IAH: The Compulife Magazine and Computer Adverts were previously being published in the Tuesday Guardian, but sometime this year they moved it to the Wednesday Guardian. Many of the ads are for companies in the computer village. abuguy: The quality of products and engineers you can get at the Ikeja computer village are the best in the country. You just need to be willing to ask for directions and a discerning buyer. |
Because those eyes are captivating. They draw you in! |
IAH: Somebody loves Ronaldo? Oh my goodness, where did I keep my soccer boots? ![]() mycutiepie: What about all those girls in flimsy clothes he dances with in his music videos? Don't you feel threatened by the way they move (muuuv!) around him? |
sage: Gay motherfuckers almost jumped me in school the other day, or are u saying it hurts no one because u feel it does not affect you. Those "gay motherfuckers that almost jumped you" are rapists who happen to be gay. Please try to recognize the difference between homosexuality and sexual assault. |
R. Kelly is, as far as I'm concerned, the most talented male musician ever! To bad he insists on singing sex songs most of the time; he could have been a greater hit. So R.Kelly is a good musician to have a crush on! |
The picnic, of course! The Christmas picnic. If someone in Lagos area is ready to organize it I'd love that. |
Jaws Without Identity! |
State police in Nigeria? Elphem, please tell us everything you know about this! |
The man in the Mobutu-style cap is Dr. Clement Isong, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The man on the left is Alhaji Aliyu Mai - Bornu, also a former governor of the CBN. |
Is there anyone who is into organizing this kind of event? |
why not just link to them from here? |
An organization caled the Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN) has been created to regulate the computer village. You can learn more about them here. One of their first resolutions is a law banning the listing of product prices in newspaper advertisements or handbills. This means that we'll no longer be able to look up current prices of computer parts by buying a copy of the Wednesday Guardian newspaper (which includes the Compulife magazine). If this "law" is followed, sllers will no longer be able to distribute price lists to their customers outside their premises. This is stupid, because in their attempts to protect sellers who are unable to sell at competitive prices, they are hurting customers and stiffling competition. Those price lists in Newspaper adverts, which they are trying to ban, are partly responsible for the popularity of the Ikeja Computer Village. Is this a welcome development, or the beginning of the end for this market? ![]() |
The Largest Computer Market In Nigeria - Ikeja, Lagos. The Ikeja Computer Village situated to the left of Kodesoh Street, when facing Oba Akinjobi Road towards the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, choked within a small area in-between Oremeji Street, Ola-Ayeni Street, Otigba Street, Olayi Tomori Street and Pepple Street, is the largest Computer/Electronics market in West Africa. Every Computer Engineer worth his salt in Nigeria knows the way to this place. I've bought PC parts, a UPS, sine wave inverter, ink cartridges for deskjet and laserjet printers, a webcam, etc. I've also gotten a UPS and motherboard repaired by the many technicians that work in that area. What I love most about that market is that you don't need to know any particular seller/technician; you just need to go there and you'll be directed to someone who can solve your problem! This thread is for us to share useful information about the Ikeja Computer Village. |
Naturally, I'll let my parents know before I go ahead and marry some lady. What's there to hide? I think my marriage would be a thing of joy to them, and they will want to be able to share their wisdom with me. I see no advantage in robbing them of this privilege. Even a liberal parent will be very angry if her child got married without at least informing her. |
Ok, I think we have a consensus here: (1) don't touch them (2) avoid fatty foods like peanuts (3) keep your face clean with soft soap and face cleanser (4) don't touch, press or burst them or use any strange chemicals on your face. Thanks aloib! |
My thoughts as I checked out the site: - I like domain name 'thestreethawker.com'. - The name 'The Street Hawker' is also excellent. - The black background theme fits the name. - I don't like Intro pages in flash: they waste my precious time. - The intro page has dead links, such as the link to "Hotels". - So "The Street Hawker" is a magazine? It isn't obvious enough. - More dead links? I've had enough! Bye bye! Lesson: Remove the intro page and correct the dead links, and we'll review your website again. |
Hello Demmy, I've been searching the web and I can't find the correct website to verify that 2face has won. Can you help me with this? How did you watch it? |
I'd rather have those street urchins hawking products in the computer vilage than robbing banks or visiting my house at night. As it hapens, there are a few neat, large and reliable stores in the village for those who don't like to shop around - Gafunk, Gennuss, etc. However, most of the people who go to Ikeja Village are primarily concerned about price. They like to shop around, and this is how the smaller players get their patronage. However way you look at it, the net effect of any consolidation is that more economic power is concentrated in the hands of a few people - the major shareholders and top executives of the Transnational Corporation, or the operators of your proposed Computer Village shopping malls. I am not a Transcorp shareholder, nor am I planning to be their employee, therefore I don't think it's logical for me to support them! |
One thing I know about human behaviour is that, no matter how much you educate people, some stubborn parents will still insist on getting their daughters circumsised unless the government threatens them with a jail term. If you really want to stamp out a practice, you must combine education and legislation. Like Senegal, we can forgive those who have done it n the past, but make it known that those who do it in the future will have to spend some years in jail. That's the way to really crush it. So if the legislation is passed this month then a perent who does it next month will go to jail while those who did it last month will be left to their consciences. Let's not muddle up the debate by bringing up male circumcision, which has no harmful effects except that it makes the penis uglier and the tip somewhat less sensitive over time (direct contact with underwear). The only similarity is that both procedures are unecessary. Female circumcision, however, is not only unecessary but very dangerous. Yes, it's true that HIV transmission is reduced in circumcised males - apparently the skin at the tip of the penis of a circumcised male has less "holes" for the virus to pass through. |
Yes, blendz, we need you to be more direct. Is it that you want to connect your PS2 to the Internet and play networked games? Or you want to buy PS2 games from the Internet? Or you're wondering if there are free games you can download for your PS2? |
Me too. DO those of us who live in Nigeria qualify? |
