I'd like to know more about Nairaland members who are married! If you're married, we want to know things like:
- How you met your husband or wife.
- What attracted you to your husband or wife.
- Who proposed marriage, and how.
- Who opposed the marriage, and how you prevailed.
- The wedding, and the honeymoon
- DO you think you made a mistake choosing your partner?
- How often you're tempted to be unfaithful and how often you fall .
- How long you think the marriage will last.

The most important thing, though, is that we'd like to identify [b]those of us who are married[/b]so we can avoid 'toasting' them and getting embarrased!

It's not easy like that for a family to disown someone for a flimsy reason like this one. If a man/woman decide to disown all their children, who will take care of them in their old age? They can threaten fire and brimstone against you, but if they are normal they have no choice but to accept the person you've chosen in the end. Do you think it's easy for someone to disown a child after taking care of him/her for decades? THis is like throwing the fruit of your labor away!

As someone said earlier, the real danger is in what would happen when you break up with this girl. Go ahead and hook up with this girl as soon as possible, so that if you're going to break up you'll do that quickly and get on with your lives knowing that at least you gave the relationship a chance!

So while it is true that mose people will avoid murder if there's the risk of capital punishments, psychopaths (the worst kind of killers) are not "most people". They are not afraid of the consequences of their actions and they do not feel bad for their victims. The fear you want to create by capital punishment is wasted on them!

I think I read that they have 25,000 such operations in a year and so far only one other person has died (a white woman). Our first lady was the second to die from complications after that surgery.

In terms of musical skill, I think Styl Plus is better.

In terms of popularity and Stardom, I think 2Face is better.

If indeed human beings are not monogamous, then the idea of living together before marriage serves no useful purpose. Afterall, you're still going to divorce her, so why not go ahead and marry her immediately and get it over with? There are tax benefits in marriage, you know, plus the society's blesing, so why delay marriage if humans are not monogamous?

About 'causality': Are you saying that the reason why people in countries like the US live together before marriage is because they notice a high rate of divorce around them? If so, then now that they are starting to live together much more than in the past, is the divorce rate coming down? Is cohabitation really helping or is it just a means of postponing the inevitable divorce?

Christianity has thrived because each church can choose the interpretation of the bible that best suits its target demographic. There are churches for "deeper lifers", churches for "lovers", churches for "balanced Christianity", churches for "prosperity", etc. So if you don't like church A, you might like church B!

I'm inviting someone who knows facts to discuss the question of why the divorce rate remains high in a culture where cohabitation is a norm. I think the answer will open our eyes.

Then how come the divorce rate is so high in countries where living together before marriage is the norm? Countries like the US, Europe? One would have thought that after living together for so long before marriage, they will have no cause to get a divorce later on. Instead, we discover is a very high divorce rate. You left out Miss A+, who doesn't live with her boyfriend but sleeps with him when she visit and is not pregnant on her wedding day. Most women fall under the A+ category. In this day and age, a woman can have all the sex she wants without getting pregnant (link) and this is exactly what our girls do. Because they believe that that God understands.

The fact that it's more common among men suggests that, evolutionally, this disorder favors men more than it favors women. This suggests to me that male psychopaths are 3 times more attractive to women than female psycopaths are to men. We men are less likely to choose psychopaths as our partners. Go, men, go!

I have never encoutered a case of a really beautiful girl or handsome man who is more than a little reluctant to show his/her picture. Never!

The assumption is that unmarried couples who live together are likely to be having sex on a regular basis like a regular husband and wife, and that's why Christians and Muslims generally frown at it.

Culturally speaking, a woman who lives with a man who is not her husband is seen as a 'loose' woman because she's not only taking part in forbidden sex (as assumed), but she's 'flaunting her immorality' for the whole community to see by living with him. She's not being discreet about it.

The society's attitude is like this, "yes, we know that you're having sex with your boyfriend, but don't flaunt it as if there's nothing wrong with it." We know that we are all sinners, but let's at least respect the fact that what we're all doing is wrong! Let's show some shame, and discreetness. This is called hypocrisy!
