I can understand why the guy may not want to marry a girl that is double his own size. And who says love is unconditional? There is no such thing! The only love that is close to being unconditional is a mother's love for her baby. Every other form of love depends on so many factors.

Banks in Switzerland have returned $290m of money found in accounts linked to the former Nigerian dictator Sani Abacha. 
Another $170m will follow once the assets have been converted into cash.

Switzerland on Friday gave the green light for the return to Nigeria of 290 million US dollars in funds seized in accounts linked to the late dictator, Sani Abacha.

This is part of the sum that Abacha plundered from the west African country and deposited in Swiss banks between 1993 and the time of his death in 1998.

What's your take on this issue? The amount of money involved seems so small to me, compared to our excess crude oil earnings of $10 billion, for example.

Exu, read my post again, please. I did not make any claims about the bible except that it has some apparent contradictions, which is a fact known by every student of the bible. The documented evidence of the bible dates back thousands of years, during which it may have been corrupted by scholars, religous leaders, etc. It is well established that ancient cultures in bible times often modified the truth to suit the desires or beliefs of the people in power. And I am sure you are aware of the contradictions in the bible.

So why can't we collect new documented evidence from contemporary life? Why does faith we have to rely on documents that may have been fabricated or adulterated over thousands of years? Why cant those things that supposedly happened thousands of years ago happen again so our scientists can record them and update science?

I'm upset that people like kenflavour are removing their pics! If you're going to remove your pics after posting then maybe I should just ban the posting of pics?

WIMAX is a technology and not a business. It will be used by ISPs to lower the cost of Internet Access in the country. I do not see a small businessman being able to enter this kind of business.

Doctors work a lot with dead people and they have observed that they all have livers.  In addition, you can scan the body of a live human being using modern non-intrusive devices to establish the presence of liver in just about every human being.  They have also observed that those whose livers are removed or damaged due to accidents or infection will experience a lot of health problems and die within a short time.  So if exu is a healthy it is logical to conclude that he has a liver based on a mountain of consistent evidence.

On the other hand, how many documented reports of people who have been to heaven do we have?  Of those who claim to have had out-of-body or near-death experiences, or who claimed that they saw heaven, how come their tales are always inconsistent? 

And why did the Nigerian TV evangelists stop broadcasting their miracle programmes when NCC insisted that they most show evidence that these miracles are really happening?

If you can believe thet heaven and hell are real, despite no proof of the existence of these places, how can you not believe that we come back as animals when we die? Won't you believe it if your parents told you so from the time you were little?

The general consensus seems to be that most of us - men and women, boys and girls - would rather go for someone who loves us dearly. This implies that one way to get someone to agree to relationship with you is to pretend to be head over heels in love with the person! Is it any wonder, then, that men (and some women) do exactly this?

Personally, if someone likes me, I automatically like the person back. I don't know about "love" though.

Jackie, are you suggesting that those who believe in God do not partake in the suffering in the world?

Because of the excessive number of posts we have to handle every day. However, in the future we're introducing a paid priority support for those who want us to notify them whenever any change is being made to their posts. So if you pay, we would be able to afford the time to notify you properly when your message has a problem. But we can't afford to provide such a service for every member!

Here are my thoughts:
- Children learn to steal (or lie) due to parental inattention, insensitivity, or lack of what they need.
- Once the habit has been formed, it may last a lifetime even if the parents subsequently discover it.
- The patient to patiently and consistently apply loving correction until the habit is overcome.
- Using force or cruelty as shortcuts to the desired goal will only make your child "smarter" in the act.
- If the child is past in the early teens, forget it, and focus on keeping your own possesions safe!

As a parent, if you are close to your little girl and you have always given her the chance to express her mind, by the time she's contemplating having a boyfriend or sex with an older man, she'll ask for your blessing one way or the other. But if you're a terror at home, a rigid and parocial parent hiding under the guise of being a "disciplinarian", then the only way you'll find out about what she's up to is when your little baby-girl becomes pregnant.

You have to understand that the girl who loves the boy does not know that he doesn't love her. Though he may not love her, he will pretend to be absolutely in love with her, so she will be give him lots of sex and food.

So where are you planning to go when you die? Do they have hunger, thirst, pain and suffering, and Nairaland there?

As mentioned earlier, you can keep coming back as a human being until you get tired of suffering. Then you can go directly to atom state. Beyond atom state there may other possibilities, but this shall be revealed to use when we reach the holy atom state!

I don't usually pay much attention to celebrity couples because marriage, to most them, is nothing but a publicity stunt. And when they get tired of marriage, they go for divorce which also brings more publicity to them. Britney Spears' 24 hour marriage took the idea of using marriage to get publicity to the very extreme!

However, IAH, the two couples you have mentioned are likely to stay married for long by my calculations, so good choice. Nick and Jessica, because they are doing TV shows together. Will and Jade because they do music video together. The only way to keep married celebrities together is to intertwine their carers such that a divorce will actually set them back!

Those who believe will go directly to holy atom state when they become tired of being reincarnated over and over again as human beings in their respective families. Glory!

Even our cultures are aware of some aspects of this phenomenom.  Babatunde, a common name, means "father has come againk" and "Iyabo" means "mother has come".  So I urge you, as a true African and believer in our culture, to accept this belief and avoid the fate of a goat!

I'll simply fall in love with the one who loves me. Love is an emotion that can be built up under the right conditions. I will also try to find out why it's difficult for me to fall in love with the one that loves me. It might be that my "love" for the unavailable one is what is making it difficult for me to love the other one!

Because plants do not have souls; they do not have self-awareness. Animals have souls, they can think, feel pain, make decisions, etc.

Do you have any idea how much work it takes to lose weight for someone who's naturally large? Do you know how many months or years of self-imposed suffering you're sentencing her to, all in the name of possible marriage? It's not likely that she's going to be able to pull it off, so break up with her as soon as possible so she can find someone who appreciates big women.

The problem is that women don't understand men: his love may not be as deep as you'd like to imagine.
