Believe it or not, I am also currently unable to get into the chatroom, and the developers have not been able to fix it in my deliberations with them.

Can you then tell me why the preachers decided to stop broadcasting the miracles instead of employing Medical doctors to verify the miracles?

CultureRe: Promote Nigeria: Translate Hausa & Yoruba for Google by Seun(mod): 8:02pm On Sep 14, 2005
Yoruba is not 100% complete, actually. The translation of the search engine is complete, but other services like Gmail and Google Groups are yet to be fully translated to Yoruba. And what about Hausa? We have a lot of Hausa speakers on this forum, right?
ComputersGoogle Blog Search Engine by Seun(mod): 8:01pm On Sep 14, 2005
Google has just lauched a blog search engine. It's available at:
http://blogsearch.google.com

You can read the official announcement at Google's Official Blog.

My reaction follows:
- The URL is too long. I want 'blogs', not 'blogsearch'.
- The interface is very boring.
- There's no interface for submitting a blog.
- It doesn't use information from the main Google Search.

Interesting Queries:

Bloggers and blog readers in the house, what's your take on this?

Interesting. For all it's worth, we should help them with Hausa and Yoruba at least, which they seem to support.
PhonesRe: .:: Vmail ::. The New Vmobile Mail Service by Seun(mod): 11:05am On Sep 14, 2005
FOD, can you try 3000 instead of 30000? 30000

Is there a way to reply e-mails sent from the Vmobile network using this new Vmail service? Is there a way to recieve emails via SMS?
WebmastersRe: Where to Get Free Domain Name Transfer by Seun(mod): 10:53am On Sep 14, 2005
There is no such thing. Getting your domain name transferred to a new registrar for free is equivalent to getting a domain name for free; they won't give it to you unless you're paying for something else which is considerably more expensive - like a web hosting plan.

I will advice you to go find a new commercial domain name registrar and transfer it to them for under $10. Wishing you the best!
Christianity EtcRe: The Purpose of Life (why were we created?) by Seun(mod): 7:57am On Sep 14, 2005
Why does life has to have a purpose? Now that I am alive, even if it's just by chance, I am going to make the best of it. I am going to pursue what will make me feel happy and fulfilled. I am going to explore what life has to offer, set goals, achieve them, and try my best to enjoy the decades I have left.
Nairaland GeneralWhat's Your 'Best' Nigerian Newspaper, and Why? by Seun(mod): 7:15am On Sep 14, 2005
Hello,

I was just wondering what everyone's "best" Nigerian newspaper is, and why.

It so happens that my favorite paper is the Daily Guardian, closely followed by Thisday, because of the informative content typically found in them.

My favorite edition of the Guardian Newspaper is the Wednesday Edition, because of all the phone and computer adverts and articles in their weekly Compulife magazine section.

I know that Thisday also has a weekly 'E-business' column, but I don't remember what day it is (I think it's Thursday?)

In summary, my 'best' Nigerian newspaper is the Wednesday Guardian! grin

Yours?

CareerRe: Do You Like Nurses/Nursing? by Seun(mod): 5:16am On Sep 14, 2005
There's someone close to me who likes to tell the story of how he swore to himself never to marry a nurse, because he felt:
- (Female) Nurses work odd hours, which means less attention for the husband.
- The perception in those days was that the average nurse has loose manners.

However, when he met his wife, she was serving as a nurse! I don't have anything against nurses; I think the society needs them.

CelebritiesRe: Most Beautiful Hollywood Actresses by Seun(mod): 3:58am On Sep 14, 2005
Eva Mendes is in a class of her own. I find it difficult to believe that such perfection can exist naturally in this world! Together with Jessica Alba, she falls into the category of hollywood actresses that can look really good without needing to expose more than the face! Is that what it means to be a super-model?

FashionRe: Paris Hilton, the American Heiress by Seun(mod): 2:24pm On Sep 13, 2005
Here's a rich lady who made up her mind to be a celebrity, was ready to do whatever it'll take, and has been able to achieve her dreams in that realm.

I think it's commendable; she could just as well do nothing and just live off her parents' money. Instead, she's making efforts to be successful in showbiz.

Jokes EtcRe: Puzzle (Help Me Please) by Seun(mod): 11:58pm On Sep 12, 2005
Depends on what font you are using. Assuming the same font that is used on the site, digits 6 would look like 9 when turned upside down.

The number in question might be any of the following pairs of numbers (which may be confused with each other when turned upside down)

- 668 and 899
- 669 and 699
- 688 and 889
- 698 and 869
- 868 and 898
- 869 and 968

first digit can be - 6, 8
second digit can be - 6,8,9
last digit can't be - 8,9

That's it, right?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Investment for Nigerian Youths? by Seun(mod): 11:41pm On Sep 12, 2005
Another way to earn 10 million naira in 10 years is to simply save 8,333 naira naira per month. Anyone can start doing this, even young graduates. And don't forget that 1 million in ten years will be worth much less than 1 million naira is worth right now.

And the money you have invested can't be used for other things. But - then again, you say that the stocks can be used as collateral for a bank loan. This is interesting to an entrepreneur.
