Cc: Seun ... Questions pls.
The input mp3 file for identification...
Is the voice going to be one person or conversation btw 2 or more persons (interview)...
Are we dealing with noise also ( like speech delivered in campaign arena)

There will be just one Nigerian politician talking for 10 seconds or more in each audio clip. I'll try to minimize noise, but I can't guarantee this.

This is simple Computer Science, folks. Just read up on the relevant papers and applicable open source libraries and implement them.

matrix4u:
Am on Linux... Can I join??

Sure, just be sure to use libraries that are open source and cross-platform.

As a sequel to the signature contest, here's a more challenging contest for programmers who are true computer scientists:

Write a program that will read a sound recording (mp3 format) containing at least 10 seconds of a Nigerian politician talking, and then print "Yes" to the console if the person speaking in the sound recording is President Buhari, and "No" if the person speaking is not President Buhari.

You can use any common programming language that runs on Windows 7/8/10. Use only open source libraries that I can compile on Windows.

The prize is 50,000 naira and I will award it to the first contestant whose code achieves a high level of accuracy (~90%).

Good luck!

Happy to participate......
my copy has been attached for your scrutiny..

Congratulations, you won! Fantastic entry! Can you explain how it works? I've sent you a PM about how to claim your prize.

Version 2 released

FIxed necessary issues (I think )..

This is certainly an improvement though not perfect. Alas, it came too late. Kudos to you for the admirable effort. It's the 2nd best entry!

Actually it's probably 16.

6.

I have found the winner!

How can we discuss so many issues in one thread with any level of seriousness?

https://www.nairaland.com/editprofile <-- go there.

That should definitely not be happening. Can you show me an example of such a thread?

basbone:
Abeg oh! Why you no include .Net languages

Included.

I've decided to double the prize to encourage the contestants to improve their entries. The winner will get 20,000 naira (instead of 10k).

An attempt. Got lazy towards the end. Where Seun?? Winner don show na.
jacob05, congrats..

Interesting entry, but:
1) The animation is better than jacob05's, but it looks like someone using a pen to draw straight lines connected to each other, not curves.
2) There is no anti-aliasing. All pixels are either black or grey. Anti-aliasing makes lines and curves smoother by adding shades of grey.
3) You maintained a constant aspect ratio regardless of the size of the box, but it is different from the aspect ratio of the original signature.

Good attempt, but you got three things wrong:
1) The animation looks like someone drawing a short lines in quick succession rather than actually drawing smooth curves with a pen.
2) There is no anti-aliasing. All pixels are either black or white. Anti-aliasing makes lines and curves smoother by adding shades of grey.
3) You didn't maintain the proper aspect ratio for the signature. Depending on user input, the output can be too fat or too skinny (pics).

I'll announce the winner this afternoon. Apologies for the delay...

You should not be ashamed of your faith, sir. You knew what was going to happen if you clicked yes, and you clicked it. Case closed. Cheers!

Where can one get red wiggler worms in Nigeria? I want to use them to dispose organic wastes in an environmentally friendly way.

Please post pictures...

seunthomas:
If yes pick your language of choice. Also do you want the signature generated animated like a person signing the signature?

Yes, it should be animated but you dont need to show the person signing it or the pen. The pen should just be a dot.

What's the source?

softysparky:
Not Nigerian psychiatrist. I don't want them asking who broke up with me.

The psychiatrists at the hospitals that specialize in Psychiatric medicine are good. Psychiatrists are not psychotherapists. They are real doctors.

Nice!!

Closed. THe entire section is for discussion.

nnasino:
I made a solution but the resulting signature isn't smooth or anti aliased. I'd love to see the correct version.

Can you show us?

jacob05:
..... Is the text as part of the signature?

Nope.

Its some kind of Python. If I'm right its not poisonous and depending on the size it may only be able to kill small animals.

The most important message is to see a psychiatrist.
