Youngzedd: What if there are more than 6 advertisers on a particular section, how then will the ad be displayed? dwizy: I doubt if you will have to wait. No ads will have a particular space. If they re more than 6, then they will automatically rotate.Wrong. You will be unable to place your ad on a section if all the 6 advertiser slots are already occupied. |
Chrisvicmall: If their is an increase in traffic on a specific day, it should be to the advertisers advantage. And what if there is a drop in traffic? should it also be the advertiser's loss? Is that fair to the advertiser? |
Chrisvicmall: Sir Seun, what people are complaining is the unfixed price. Imagine if you refresh this your dynamic price algorithm in the future, and our credit just run out instantly, what will happenI understand your concerns. It was unfortunate that we allowed a bug to mess with our dynamic price algorithm at this critical time. Our prices were very stable before the bug. We know that it's critically important to make the prices stable and reliable. I think our quick response to the situation where our customers were being charged too much shows that our goal is not to milk our customers but to charge you fairly. |
planetuzor: Seun my ad has been approved but the price for politics section have changed from what I saw it as yesteday on the list of price list which was 26k to 38k this morning..?We decided to refresh our dynamic price algorithm this morning because we noticed that advertisers were being overcharged a little bit. It will take about 24 hours for the prices to be normalized and up to 1 week for the prices to really settle down. Currently, the politics section appears to be overpriced, but most other sections of Nairaland are simultaneously under-priced, so you can benefit by targeting the under-priced sections. |
Chrisvicmall: From your explanation, I believe that this system is a rotational ads system. My questions areOnly 6 advertisers can place ads in a section at a time, and they will pay exactly the same amount. Once there are 6 advertisers in a section, other advertisers won't be able to place ads there. However, each of the 6 advertisers in a section can place an unlimited number of ads there. All the ads you place on a section of Nairaland will be rotated within your slot in the section. The amount you will pay will be the same. 2.) Is it possible for me to know how many times my ads appear in a day.Yes and yes. We provide estimated stats for unique impressions and unique clicks in our Ad Reports. 4.) Can I pause my ads because I see no reason it should be running between 10:00p.m to 6:00a.m Nigeria time especially when you are targeting Nigeria customers. Leaving the ads running during that period is waste of money and creditYes, but: 1) This strategy is largely a waste of your time because our dynamic price algorithm varies your charges throughout the day. You are charged less at times when traffic is low such as at night or during weekends, and you are charged more during peak periods. 2) There is no guarantee that your slot would be free in the morning if you unplace your ads at night. Someone else may have taken it!! |
Leystra: Nice one for a prospective advertiser like me, but I would have prefer the automated one...Once you load your credits, everything else is automated, though changes to your ads or landing pages would still require our speedy approval. Abu Mikey: Your Pricelist tho? Some are too expensive, while some are too cheap for their designated section. Our dynamic pricing algorithm is not 100% perfect, so some sections may be slightly mispriced. We will continue to improve the algorithm with data. |
dubaibusiness: I want to advertise my business on this website, targets Nigerians. How can I start? What is the price?I've just sent you a PM. |
Bossforeva: Can i advertise the aboki mending shoes in ma compound in the spirit of sallah?Yes, and you can even target the Islam for Muslims board if your ad is Sallah-themed! That costs about ₦5,196.53 per week (₦742.36 per day) hollas2jnr: @Seun: So the fact that it's still under test doesn't make it free for prospective advertisers to try-out?We did conducted a free alpha test. Based on the results of that test, and subsequent improvements, we believe that this is worth every naira. Youngzedd: 1) Can the advertiser pause the ad at any given time?Absolutely. You can place and remove your ads from any section of Nairaland at any time 2) Will the ad banner be rotating or just steady till advertisers credit get exhausted? There are 6 ad slots in every section. If you place your ads on any section, your ads will share one of those 6 slots. And they will stay there until you remove them or until your credits get exhausted. On mobile phones, we only display 2 ads per page, so your ads will show up in one out of 3 pageviews. If you place many ads on a section, your ads will share the same slot and the cost. Our system is carefully & fairly designed. |
JideTheBlogger: Can we also track the ads performance (performance report) from the https://www.nairaland.com/campaign page and not just cost report only?Yep. There will be a detailed Ad Report for every individual banner ad that you upload. |
Anniettie ufia: This is nice !Thanks! But, if someone has #2000.00, he or she cannot advertise on nairaland? When we introduce other forms of payment, you will be able to advertise with just 500 naira. For now, 5000 naira is the minimum. |
god_of_music: On a serious note, can i advertize my moi moi business on nairaland??Absolutely. You can even target the Food section of Nairaland, so that you'll only have to pay for ad views by Food lovers. It's so cheap. papaejima1: A payment page opens, I pay with my debit or credit card etc, the system authenticates/confirms the payment and automatically sends me to a new url (my ad campaign dashboard) from where I can now start my campaignWe're working on that, but we don't want to keep advertisers waiting while we figure out how to make it work reliably since it's not essential. |
Youngzedd: What is the ad duration? @ SeunYour ads will stay on any boards where you have placed them until you run out of credits or until you remove them from the boards. How will the money be deducted, PPC or what? JideTheBlogger: wow!...but now that you have introduced credit system, are we going to be charged per click, impression or per day? Pls explain. Chrisvicmall: Admin, please answer this question. It is very important. We need to know how you charge. Is it Pay Per Click or Pay per Impression or just Pay Per Duration. Answer us before we enter the Dynamic AdIt's not PPC. We use a really cool dynamic price algorithm. It calculates the price that each section of the forum is worth during the time period that you're using it and it charges you every few minutes based on that price. It charges you more when there's more traffic and less when there's less traffic. You can check the current price for every board on this page: Price List. That list is frequently updated. |
Abu Mikey: On a serious note, the new beta system is better than the older version, nice oneThanks! Abu Mikey: If I were to ask you for an advertising space,toWe will accept it. As long as your adverts are not deceptive, you can freely promote products/services/businesses that compete with Nairaland. |
The beta test is over! Please visit How To Place targeted Ads On Nairaland Earlier this year, our big corporate advertisers told us that the 154 by 95 pixel ad format was too small to deliver the kind of impact they were looking for. In response to this, we have switched over to a new ad format: 318 x 106 pixels. It's was carefully chosen to be big enough to deliver the kind of impact that our corporate advertisers are looking for, but not too big, so that advertising on Nairaland can remain affordable. The beta test is over! @maclatunji: I am pleased that you have explained your reason for changing the title, as required. Let us now return to the main discussion. |
maclatunji: The moderator has editorial powers and can edit your post in the general interest. Kindly quit whinning my brother, you have had your say.I do not approve of this rude reply.. A moderator should not edit a member's post without a good reason, and the moderator must provide the reason when the member asks. |
Nutase: Seun the capitalist, you have changed the topic of this post like how many times today. You use posts like this to extort corporate organisations. Its your show run it well but I'll advice you do it with a conscience. Once any topic criticizes an organization especially banks that are always willing to part with cash u always move it to the front page then wait for them to come and1. I never changed the title of this thread. Ask any moderator to confirm this. I chose the home page title and I haven't changed that either. 2. We have never demanded or accepted money from any organization as payment for making bad publicity go away. Our ethics forbid that. I think I went a bit too far with my home page title, though. Using the word impotent was unnecessary. For what it's worth, I have always felt that GTB is a top bank in Nigeria when it comes to customer service. However, it won't remain that way if people don't complain when they err. |
chucky234: Nobody like being ignored, the OP should have taken at least two minutes of his time to explain to the said guard that its a private bike and not a public one.Nobody likes being shouted at rudely by people whose salaries they are indirectly paying. His decision to ignore the guard was a reaction to that. If anything got missing or stolen within the bank premises the guard is the first person to be locked up in police cell and not the OP.If he truly felt the OP was a robber who was planning to escape with the bike, then he should have taken the bike into custody and then released it to the OP after he was satisfied that the OP was a customer of the bank and not a robber. He did what he did purely for selfish revenge, and in the process he offended a customer, and also tarnished the image of his employer as a customer-friendly bank. Therefore he should be punished. |
@pbundles: His bike was not a public bike. |
He had every right to park at that spot. It was his normal parking spot. The new security guard was ignorant of this and he was rude to the customer, which is why the customer ignored him. His decision to have the bike towed without consultation was a form of power tripping, and quite stupid, really. How did that action help the bank? He should have been reprimanded. |
The following tips are for the average user and not the OP: The first step is to buy a laptop or a branded desktop. Every laptop or branded desktop comes with a free copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8, properly licensed and free of charge. The next step is to search for the best open source softwares that do the things that you need. If you're a software developer like me, this is easy. Just pick an excellent open source language like Python and an open source IDE like eclipse. Everything you need to get your work done will be available as a free download somewhere on the net. For office workers, try Google Docs and Open Office. Try to use Gimp for image editing. The third step is to find a place to buy other closed source software when you need it. You can use the Internet for that and buy your software from the developers' website directly, if you have a means of payment. For the OP: go for it. Try buying that software from the Internet or try calling Microsoft Nigeria to ask them about where to get it in Nigeria. |
If your report does not mention your OS, device, web browser and ISP/network, we cannot help you. Please include all the details. |
