Shollypopz: So no new gist??Which Seun? |
@SAFO: I wanted sexkillz to explain himself and, as expected, he has done just that. We are all here to serve the Nairaland community. |
sexkillz will answer the question |
This post can be classified in the same group as mine so why were the handles not banned as i was?@sexkillz: over to you. |
You've been naughty |
@truthislight: regarding slavery in the new testament, what you're saying is that you will interpret the word "slave" as "servant" or "employee" in some contexts and as the original meaning in some other contexts. In other words, you will pick the definition that fits your current beliefs better in every case. That's absurd, but I'll drop it. My original argument, which you were trying to challenge, was that the bible does not condemn the practice of slavery. This remains true. |
You got banned because your post was off-topic. I think such a minor offense should attract an initial warning, before a ban, though. |
Is it true that the stock market index has went up by 35% last year? |
felifeli: Thank you sir, I have deleted the errant post. As an extra protection pleased delete me from any marketing mailing list that exists. Pleasure knowing you. Good bye.I'm pleased to inform you that there is no marketing mailing list. We do not provide your email address to 3rd parties or moderators, except the people you send personal messages to. However, your email has probably been added to various mailing lists due to that public post, and you may need to unsubscribe from each one and mark all mails from the ones you can't unsubscribe from as spam. |
@manny4life: thanks for the suggestion, but I am a scientist at heart and I am always experimenting with different ways of doing things. Sometimes my experiments work out and the results are fantastic, and at other times they fail but I learn a lot. I will not short-circuit this learning process for the sake of maintaining a fake reputation. I will not live in fear of public disapproval. If I am bad, it is only fair to let people know that I am bad, so they can protect themselves. But I don't think I am bad. I really appreciate your concern for my reputation, though. Thanks! |
Mr_Anony: Tell us exactly how intelligence found it's way into unintelligent matter. Why? Do you promise to abandon your Christian faith if we tell you? |
Jarus: And I'm sure you also know that what you said as my principal activities(awards, debates, halls, etc) which you discounted for locking and moving threads(which you restricted definition of moderating to and not being creative as I did) added glamour and maturity to this section, for the good of your forum in the final analysis. And even that moving and locking threads you attached the most value to (rightly) I did that well, even if on lower scale than my partners). In any case, you may want to check the first page of politics section today and check how many topics ought to have been moved to right sections(and this is the honeymoon week of your new Mod o, with full energy)Yes, your activities definitely contributed a lot to the forum. I really appreciate everything you've done for Nairaland. |
I don't understand why Christian apologists expect atheists to defend and explain evolution. Even if you could disprove evolution, that does not mean that we were created by the God of the bible. There are hundreds of other Gods that may have created us, and there could be a better scientific explanation than evolution that we have not yet discovered. The burden is on you to prove that we were created by the biblical God, and not on us to prove evolution. Evolution is just the only explanation that makes sense based on the evidence we have; it is not an article of faith that all atheists must uphold. I think the never-ending debate on evolution distracts from more important issues. |
ekt_bear: Seun, you really seem to lack common sense. There is no doubt about the fact that I lack social skills and I'm not very good at relating with people. I'm not perfect, but I will improve. I don't know why you like throwing people under the bus like this. When you ignore false accusations, people assume that you are guilty. I wish this wasn't the case, but I've tried it and it doesn't work. |
Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing Jarus at all. He's a great guy. I'm just saying that he is a very busy man, and that's why he had to resign. |
@oyb: We don't need a PR spokesperson to feed Nairalanders with sweet lies. Nairalanders are smart and wise enough to handle ugly truths. ![]() |
It's true. Even OAM4J can confirm that before the end of year contests, Jarus hardly moderated. He only moderated when he was organizing awards and debates. So after the awards, he was looking for any excuse to resign. When I urged him to remove Chinua Achebe from the hall of shame, he thought he had found his opportunity, so he resigned. But then people started begging him to reconsider, and he didn't want it to seem as if he was being stubborn, so he demanded an apology from me thinking I would not apologize. When I apologized, he was shocked, but he came back reluctantly in order to please the people who begged him to come back. But he still wanted to resign because he really doesn't have any time to moderate. So when I appointed Afam as a moderator, he resigned again, using the ridiculous excuse that he "can't work under a quota system". It's a very strange excuse, if you think about it. Why should the appointment of a moderator to help the fight against tribalists and eliminate the complaints of marginalization by Igbos be a problem for Jarus as a moderator? |

GARRI (x7):Jarus didn't resign because of anything I did. He resigned because he was too busy to moderate. He tried to use me as a scapegoat, though. |
@Reyginus: according to you, Christians may sin only occasionally (because they.are mere mortals). Can you be more precise about the meaning of "occasional"? Is there a cut off point for the number of sins a Christian can commit in a day and still be considered a Christian? Or is there a point system where committing big sins like homosexuality cost 10 points and little sins like beating your slaves unjustly cost only 1 point, and that you must not accrue more than 10 points every day in order to be continue being a Christian? Please give us the details! |
Brand_new: trust me, some NL members can do you a lot of damage if care is not taken. Why must you threaten Nairaland? If we can't fix Nairaland to your taste despite our efforts, you should just move to a better forum. babyosisi: https://www.nairaland.com/1152783/sunny-ades-guitarist-30-yrs Sunny Ade's guitarist arrested with cocaineAdded |
musKeeto: If a deviation (which I believe refers to sin in this context) causes one to fall below the standards of Christianity, is it right to say there are no 'true' christians? Is it possible for a believer to continually measure up to the 'christ-like' standard?I would like to read a direct answer to this question. |
