True: murder is not the same as lying - but neither is better than the other.
I don't know about you, but I'd much rather be lied to. People lie to me every day and I'm still alive.

africanboy:

Why in the name of the most high gods must you want to "rehabilitate" a conductor doing a honest day's work?
You know who needs to be rehabilitated? Clueless do-gooders like you.

Conductors and area boys are not the same. Area boys exort money while conductors collect money legitimately.
If a boy is able to make 1000 naira per day doing what he knows, why the hell must you deprive him of his job?

I have no problem with conductors being given additional training, but you need to respect the job they do.
Afterall their work for the benefit of people like you and me who take public transport. How can that be bad?

Gah. angry

Well, I tend to read the manga, which is a black-and-white comic.

You can read the latest episodes here: http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/

In order to understand what's going on, you can read the history here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naruto

The place to download the anime has been discussed on a previous thread.

Look at every country on this planet that has a majority of its population black and rule by a black government. The problems are basically the same.
Last time I checked, Nigeria and South Africa did not have 1600% inflation. We are doing much better.

He's Dan Foster, the famous radio DJ based in Lagos. It's funny how they couldn't get others like him. I think Dede is disgracing us, but I think Nana's approach would have been ok if complemented by another judge like Dan.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Mugabe Celebrates In The Midst Of 1600% Inflation! by Seun(mod): 10:00am On Feb 24, 2007
Mugabe is obviously an incapable leader but so are many other leaders around the world.
I wonder why you are defending an obviously incapable leader? Shouldn't you rather be defending capable leaders?

The great difference here is that this man decided to stand up against an injustice
There's nothing 'just' about a dictator, he was trying to score cheap support for his unjust rule

without thinking through the merits and demerits of same.
That is precisely what we are saying. Why should you impose a policy without thinking about its demerits?

These problems came to fore when he decided to take back Zimbabwean lands.
The problems were there before he seized those lands, but they only got worse when he added fuel to fire.

The lands were taken unjustly
Spare me the bullshit; do you think a dictator cares about justice? Perhaps you should interview all those who have been killed or jailed for opposing his unjust rule and ask them what they think about Mugabe's "justice".

but he was expected to allow that injustice continue
If you have a knowledge of history, you'll realise that almost every land we have today was taken unjustly at a point. The ancient Israelites, muslims in the north, Americans, all took their lands 'unjustly' in the past. So what? It's just history. Must northern muslims vacate their lands for the descendants of the people originally living there? Must Americans vacate the US for the native Indians they took it from? Such thinking is retrogressive!

for the sake of the aid that was being recieved from the west
If he was not such a bad ruler, his country would be able to survive without aid. The West doesn't owe him any aid! Foreign aid is a gift that comes with stringent conditions. If you refuse to satisfy them, they take it. Justly.

It's the same thing they do to any Nation that does not dance to their tune.
When CNN didn't dance to Nigeria's tune, the president discontinued business with them. Justly. The right not to deal with people whose actions are not paying you is the priviledge of every free person or nation!

Any wonder they are always willing to kill and do anything to ensure that they have total control over the rest of the world?
I wonder why they didn't kill Robert Mugabe. Maybe its because his economic illiteracy is already doing that for them?

Murder is not the same as lying, because of the magnitude of damage caused by a murder.

TV/Movies › Your Favorite Anime Or Manga Villian? by Seun(mod): 9:21am On Feb 24, 2007
This manga villian may not necessarily the most powerful, but he's the one I admire most: Orochimaru (Naruto).

Why do I like him? He's committed to his disgusting cause, knows when to run and when to fight, and really moves the story forward any time he acts. One more thing: his goal makes sense, unlike that of the 'fearsome' Akatsuki.
Literature › The Unexpected Fight In Naruto Manga Chapter 343 by Seun(mod): 9:01am On Feb 24, 2007
The Naruto manga is smoking hot right now, thanks to the unexpected Sasuke versus Orochimaru fight. Combined with the revelation that he doesn't kill people unecessarily, this fight seems to have redeemed Sasuke's image.

So how will this end? The fearful expression on Orochimaru's face suggests hat he does not expect an easy battle. But one statement he made, "I knew it would come to this", suggests that he knows how to handle the boy. Ouch! And since Orochimaru can probably control Sasuke through the cursed seal, it's obvious that Sasuke can't win.

Unless Kabuto gets involved, in which case Sasuke might manage to escape from Orochimaru. Oro is unkillable!

I'm sure there'll be lots of contracts to be awarded afterwards
Why not? (if you are a manufacturer of the military weapons which will generate these abundant jobs)

you forgot to mention your plans for the oil blocs
Every Niger Deltan will be given several gallons of refreshing crude oil (planted by their ancestors) to drink.

after that what will you do to unborn children, make abortion legal?
Warn yourself, please. How can I do such a ridiculous thing? I will just make abortion compulsory for women only.
