Shym-x, u should knw that: 1) Most of those laws have clauses that restrict d age of marriage couples i.e the husband and wife must atleast be of equal or almost equal in age, say 15y 4d girl and 17y or 20y 4 male. Any wide margin in age is not acceptable because we all know d obvious exploitation that will take place in d life of d younger partner. 2) Laws are promogated as a solution to existing problems arising from d ways of lives of a man at a particular moment/period of time. This is limited to d knowledge and expiriences he has at dt particular time, which means dt as he aquires more wisdom, knowledge and expiriences the laws are bound to change and be amended to reflect those expiriences and knowledge aquired over time. Therefore it is not normal to hold onto old laws in d name of anything despite d knowledge and expiriences of flaws seen in such laws. 3 If not for selfish reason, with d informations on ground about d resultant effect of child pregnancy ( physicaly, mentaly and medicaly) in d world today, nobody should be formulating d laws dt will encourage such act today. No cultural or religious laws should be encouraged to put those children at risk. 4 In all we do, let us put sentiment from any angle( religion and culture) apart and face d reality of today in other to set rules for our selves. Many people in support of this child molestation called marriage to an adult old enough to be her grandpa can't even allow their own children do such thing because of the true reality he or she knows, why do we hold to such laws in d name of anything. 2 Likes |

Anybody that watch d show will knw dt miss imo, miss adamawa, miss abuja were miles better winner that miss bayelsa. The truth is dt people easily take the part of religion that satisfies dia needs and enforce them but d part dt does not benefit them is thrown away. I don't think d man is wrong by his analysis, statements and d side he stood by, atleast her majesty confirmed it by her self. One thing that d prof is used to is d consistent bashing 4rm d supporters of d government of d era, infact he has been sent to prison b4, he has been exiled b4, he has even been castigated just to save our current president from cabals b4, now he has been stoned just to pretect 5 from impeaching 27 because dy hav d power of oga at d top. However one thing is certain, d truth will alway prevail because power, money, tribalism and hate campaign may work at a particular moment but they can't work forever, history will always justify each players and actor. Would he be considered a domestic appendage, would his views be subdued? I am painting this scenario to help our imagination, on what the case might be. What will be the reaction of men when talked down on?What use is that office to us? I think we only vote 4 the president, not first lady or first man, anything close to that is luxury and unecessary. In united state where it is borrowed from, they only do NGO stuff, pet project and voluntary project usualy to promote his or her partner's image. In a society of people puffed up by ego, owambeism and na we de control mentality as a result of inferiority complex ( according to prof Ozuji Ozondu) they parade themself as a legitimate office holder and some low thinking individuals sing praises 4 them, run after and defend them as if it is right. |
