Yes sir, God willing. But you may administer GV on the wound site to keep flies away and facilitate wound healing. You can get it at a human pharmacy store

Hello Doc, I got a puppy recently only to notice its infested with worms on the stomach and other parts of the body, I successfully popped all of them (over 35 worms). What do I do next, some are open wounds and bleed a little, I don't want her to get infected.

Good evening sir, I'm so sorry about what happened, first of all, you'll have to change location of the environment of your pup, preferably indoors for now, then keep pressing out the worms or suffocate the worms with palm oil, you'll rub it over the area. I hope this helps!

No you can lecture anybody, In UNILAG some of my Lecturers in Pharmacology are BSC some are B.PHarm some a MBBS.

So it depends. But in Pharmacy their are some department you can't lecture in if you are not a Pharmacist.

But Anatomy even final year student self dey take tutorial talkless of Research Fellow.

My chief, this area is my field, I studied Bsc Anatomy as my first degree so I know what I'm saying, infact during our conference this was among the major bone of contention, I believe I've furnished you with evidence on this thread. And even those ones who are your lecturers would be gradually eased out and replace with "medically qualified lecturers" You know the funny thing Mbbs, DVM, and BDS are recognized as medically qualified to teach a course I studied for 5 years while I can't. I provided evidence earlier in the thread.

Veto guy, come and buy rabbies vaccine, you can't own your own vet Pharmacist without a Pharmacist. Your aspiring course took PCN to court but lost out after their vet are sealed.

I'm so sorry to break your bubble sir, the Veterinary Council were smart enough to quickly amend their constitution to include "veterinary drugs and allied products" which was passed in the Senate and signed into law, hence the case in now at the appeal court and status quo has been told to be maintained. That was why the PCN, now quickly rushed to start up B.Vet Pharm as a degree course, which was also dead on arrival. If you want I can furnish you with documents to back it up, or you can simply google "veterinary premises act" and see the latest list of premises listed under the purview of the VCN. I hope this helps. One more thing Sir, in Nigeria and anywhere in the world a Veterinarian and a Pharmacist are not on the same level, a Veterinarian is higher in hierarchy than a pharmacist, a simple google search would confirm my assertion. So that Veto guy as far as the civil service is concerned, is your boss.

Your suspicion may be correct, based on the change in urine colour. But asides that, did you observe any symptoms?

Good evening sir, there is actually no specific vaccine to be given to dogs before mating except the normal vaccines which should have been given, mating or no mating. Just try and ensure the stud is disease free, diseases like UTIs, Brucellosis etc. And administer multivitamins especially vitamin C, folic acid and iron.

Lenticular sclerosis that can progress to cataract due to advancing age. As I said, let's be observant but if it progresses to cataract, then surgery would recommended. You can also seek second opinion too. I hope this helps

Good evening sir, it would be better if I had a picture of the affected eye, it would have been better, but nevertheless I suspect he is suffering from an age related eye condition. Sincerely there is nothing that can be done provided it's not painful and he can still see properly, but once it terminates to cataract, then the cataract would be surgically managed. But still let me see the pics

Good afternoon sir, they were right about the advice, canned food have side effects and can be dangerous on the long term. Some of the side effects include, presence of carcinogenic products in the canned food, most of these canned food may react with the containers they are placed in especially after a long time which leading to release of some toxic substances which may lead to serious side effects and lastly the nutrient value is far lower than natural food infact not even comparable. Hence in conclusion, should be avoided except you don't have a choice or at best as a supplement.

Good afternoon sir, a lot of factors may contribute to this condition, hence I'll like to see a picture of the affected area. Meanwhile, it could also be due to mineral deficiency hence I'll recommend multivitamins rich in Vit C, B- Complex and Zinc, you can get it in a pet shop. You can also give cod liver oil and fish too, they are rich in the above minerals. I'll be on standby!!!

It can be confirmed in a lab, although I'm suspecting pregnancy. Let's place her on multivitamins while we wait for confirmation, because I won't want to prescribe drugs that can affect the pregnancy (if pregnant). Give her vitamin C and B complex, for Vit C you can give her the veterinary formulation or human formulation preferably the white one, give her thrice a day while Bcomplex once a day. Once we confirm I would tell you the next step.

Good morning sir, Cod liver oil is very good for dog and you can use human cod liver oil, it's the same the only major difference is the quantity per tab, hence it's advisable to the get the one specially formulated for dogs, if available. For the Caucasian, we need to establish the cause of the shedding to be sure it's not due to reaction to the cod liver oil, meanwhile you can suspend giving your Caucasian for now while we observe. Finally please do not Increase the dose, that 1,000mg is already too much because dogs need around 250-400mg. I'll be on standby

Good evening sir, in dogs, heat (estrus) may last for around 9 days but can be longer or shorter. I'm not too comfortable with the vomiting but provided you're not observing any further symptoms I'll just prescribe a broad spectrum antibiotics just in case. Well, the media houses like this The Punch blew things out of proportion. They made big deals out of it just to embarrass the nation and the government, now the willing doctors are at the receiving end. If not for the way the news was reported, the government would have pretended like nothing was happening.

If you don't want to stress yourself, you can simply get to any Vet shop and ask for already made food perculiar to the age of your dog, although the downside is that it contains preservatives. Alternatively you can feed your dog food like pap mixed with milk, egg, de-boned fish, boiled meat, rice shredded with carrots (introduce gradually) etc They are very nutritious especially for growing pups.

Sorry for the delayed feedback. I bought vista plus antifungal cream from a pharmacy and applied to my dog's ear twice a day, morning and evening. I also withdrew the carbs and any likely source of sugar from her diet, so I was basically feeding her just animal protein(beef, liver, kidney, chicken heads, fish and egg... All raw) with one clove of garlic and 1 teaspoon of acv added to her breakfast daily. The problem got cleared under 5 days. Acv is now a mainstay in my dogs diet while I add garlic occasionally.
