Hmm! Why is everyone afraid of this man called Tinubu? North and South, you guys are just making him popular more. Osinbajo told you he can dare look Jagaban in the eyes abi? I laugh in Hebrew. You all better chew the bitter truth, Tinubu is your next president. Its hard and painful but that's Naija for you.

It's not a matter of dare, but political synergy that will play out.
Politics / Re: 2023 Presidency: South-West APC May Ostracise Osinbajo If He Contests by SeyeMan(m): 6:07am On Jan 13, 2022
A sponsored post on Nairaland. Some mods don chop money this early morning.

We are well aware of SWAGA antics, but they have already failed woefully. How many states does Asiwaju base control in South West APC that they are bragging that South West people will sideline Osinbano if he declared to run. These people are day time dreamers. Even Lagos APC has factions that are not loyal to Tinubu.

PMB's rejection of direct primaries is to make this race very interesting. If ASIWAJU gets the ticket, APC should just forget the Presidential election because Muslim-Muslim tickets will not work.

Meanwhile, see the attached pictures of Google trends analysis for Tinubu shows that Nigerians are really searching and most interested in knowing ASIWAJU's real age, so it wld be good for the CHIEF CONSULTANT to officially tell Nigerians his real age at the occasion of his official declaration.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Politics / The Demystification Of The Jagagban by SeyeMan(m): 12:04pm On Jan 11, 2022
Yesterday, we watched as an old man was retired politically. Seating lonely in an empty room, with no political friends or associates, he came cap in hand to ask for permission to run for office from a man that didn’t need to give it, and left a resounding message: “this is about me, this is about my personal ambition”.

What a shame!

This was not meant to be so. A man who worked tirelessly to install progressive governance at the national level for the first time since independence, when Nigeria was slave to conservative market forces, was not designed to seek the approval of a proletariat to get the mandate of the people. He was meant to take the bottoms-up approach, not the top-down approach to power. He was meant, as a progressive socialist, to do so in company of likeminded folks not alone.

The speech itself was rambling. Trying so hard to sound eloquent, it was obvious Asiwaju was badly advised. As any political gladiator knows, only the inexperienced and desperate jump out early before the whistle is even blown in a consequential election like Nigeria’s Presidential race.

In 1999, Bola Ige was the first to declare. In 2003, it was Abubakar Atiku. In 2007, it was Odili and Ibori, in 2011 it was Ribadu in front and in 2015, President Jonathan started the race before anyone could say Jack Robinson! In 2019, we all cannot forget quickly how Governor Fayose launched his campaign. What do they have in common? They were all unserious losers!

And oh, can we even ignore the disrespect? Here you are visiting a man in the Presidential Palace, and allowing yourself to be goaded on to be called the kingmaker. You took it, accepted the title and stuck your fingers in his eye in an empty room next to his office!

Come to think of it, allowing others to tooth your horn comes with certain level of dignity and statesmanship. Your 3 million vote addition to Buhari’s immaculate 12 million made him President, but it sure can’t make you President! That is simple mathematics!

It was hard to watch an old man trying desperately to sound polish. He was rambling, often off point. He referred us to his model governance in Lagos, some twenty years ago when social media was not even a thing! Common! The same governance that delivered a fantastically corrupt revenue collection model? Where your private company was written into the law? The same model governance that set the pace for golden pensions for ex-Governors that other states have since scaled up to impoverish our people?

Fact is, Asiwaju has never been taken to task for his true stewardship in Lagos. Now that he has thrown his hat in the ring, all will be litigated. The stolen funds, the mix of state and personal funds, the inability to complete basic infrastructure when Egypt has built 32 new cities with similar resources or the lack of basic transportation that has ensured the average Lagosian spend the most time in traffic in the entire world- wasting their most precious earth possession, while he enjoys fantastic wealth and locks the state resources for his son (sole media right and owner of tolling resources), his daughter (market tribute collector) and wife (Senator and woman leader). Is this the new model for national governance? God forbid!

It is good Asiwaju himself admitted he was saying the truth and nothing but the truth, when he spoke of his “lifelong personal ambition”. We have no problem with his ambition, we just want a president that wants the job because of us not because of himself!

This Odumosu of a man is a rabble router and is more than capable of locking up innocent security men at Magodo Estate. I vividly remember that during the planned ENDSARS protests anniversary, in a bid to threaten the organizers of the planned protests, CSP Odumosu appeared on national TV fully kitted with helmet and a big rifle, while many other offers in similar battle gear stood around him in the interview. One would have thought he was about to engage BOKO HARAM members at the planned venue of the protests. I wasn't surprised when news broke that a stray Bullet had killed a young lady close to the protest venue that same day. CSP Odumare needs to adopt a great dose of maturity, discretion and humility in how he carries himself as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos.
Politics / Leadership Newspaper Person Of The Year 2021: Yemi Osinbajo by SeyeMan(m): 5:03pm On Jan 03, 2022
LEADERSHIP PERSON OF THE YEAR 2021: YEMI OSINBAJO

For his key role in steadying the ship of state through the storms as well as laying the foundation for the social intervention programmes of the current administration, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is LEADERSHIP Person of the Year 2021

In a 1999 CNN interview, Larry King asked former U.S. President George H.W. Bush what the toughest part about being vice president was. Bush’s’ response was, “Well, you are not your own person if you believe in loyalty. And if you want to go out carving your own track, fine. But you don’t get anything to do because the president must know the vice president is not going to be out there or trying to make himself look good to the detriment of the president.” And that is in a country that prides itself on being the best example of democracy in the world.

In Nigeria where tribe and religion -- and sometimes even the village you come from -- play an outsized role in political outcomes, the impetus for a vice president to want to step out of the president’s shadow is ever present. The country has seen what can happen with the kind of competitive relationship driven by regional, political and religious forces. It took the intervention of the Supreme Court in 2006/2007 to stop the two most powerful men in the country from desecrating the constitution.

2007 is a period that makes it easier to appreciate any politician who finds himself in the office of the vice president and manages to keep the voices of tribe, religion, family and village at bay. It was an attempt to placate these same voices and balance the regional forces in Nigeria’s politics that led to the selection of Yemi Osinbajo as the running mate to Muhammadu Buhari in the first place. As a law professor, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), with family ties to the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, he was a perfect fit. So, in a sense, Osinbajo’s job as vice president has always been to provide political stability for both the president and the country in general.

And never has that balancing act of the vice president been more tested than in the aftermath of the #End- SARS protests of October 2020. Osinbajo’s steady hands worked diligently, from behind the scenes, to heal the rift that had taken a generational, antigovernment and regional dimension. Some of the efforts to bridge the generational gap manifested in the introduction of the National Youth Conference. As if epitomising what he stands for in the government and in today’s Nigeria, the vice president’s message to the youth at the conference in early November was to reject the temptation of inheriting the biases and prejudices of their parent’s generation.

Of course, there were many more forces at play during the #EndSARS protests than just youths: loyalty to the country, the president and party. The stability and leadership he has provided in the last one year to keep Nigeria’s many factions from tearing one another apart would have been enough to name Yemi Osinbajo LEADERSHIP’s Person of the Year. But our reasons go beyond that. The idea that Nigeria, a developing country with scarce resources, could deliver financial aid and social interventions to the poorest Nigerians is what will stand Osinbajo out from other political leaders, maybe for the foreseeable future. But among the subgoals of the Sustainable Development Goals are the provision of social protection systems for everyone and reducing the impacts of economic and social shocks on the poor. How Nigeria, a country of 200 million people, most living in poverty, could even attempt to achieve such goals was a mystery.

Yes, the All Progressives Congress, in its campaign promises in 2015, pledged to pay N5,000 to the poorest Nigerians. A good number of people scoffed at the idea, and at a point the opposition leaders taunted the APC for not living up to its promise. Yet, the party probably did not know how to fulfil this campaign promise and it fell on Vice President Osinbajo to see it through -- build a blueprint and, for a
whole year, a social register of the most vulnerable and poorest Nigerians. Two aspects of the Social Intervention Programme designed by the office of the vice president stood out: the Conditional Cash Transfer and the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, which helped enroll and keep millions of children in school. If these did not impact the lives of the poorest Nigerians, those in rural areas,
then maybe nothing governments do ever will.

Some of these programmes suffered setbacks after the outbreak of COVID-19, while independent assessments of their impact on the most vulnerable are openly available. But by the assessment of the president himself, and his late chief of staff Abba Kyari, the social intervention schemes that were conceptualised and implemented by the office of the vice president were successful enough to have carved out an entire ministry for this purpose.

In August 2019 when the Buhari government created the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, it was in part an acknowledgement of the extent of Osinbajo’s success in designing programmes to meet the needs of some of the country’s poorest and make their issues a priority of the government. The ministry has been active for two years. Its activities are less pronounced now, but for every life it has touched in those two years, we see hands of Yemi Osinbajo. More importantly, the idea that the government, in some way, should meet the most basic needs of the poor and vulnerable citizens with social safety nets and intervention programmes is no longer up for debate.

He is not the top economic expert in the government. He has seen one plan through, Now, the president has him leading the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), which aims to achieve the difficult task of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty over the next 10 years. It is a taxing assignment that has once again seen him going back to the drawing board. Planning diligently and laying the groundwork for success is what the vice president has shown glimpses of in the first steering committee meeting of NPRGS held in July 2021. He promised a considerable amount of paperwork and a lot of commonsense approach.

Osinbajo may not be getting credit for a lot of the work he is doing; neither is he blowing his own trumpet, even when it is politically expedient to do so. And whether his name will be remembered 10 years down the line if Nigeria succeeds in lifting millions out of poverty or not, the impact of his leadership, now and then, will be felt.

That is why he is the LEADERSHIP Person of the Year 2021

Politics / Osinbajo’s Firmness, Strength In Governance, Worthy Of Emulation by SeyeMan(m): 10:13am On Jan 03, 2022
Muhammad Sani writes from Kano State. https://news.band/osinbajos-firmness-strength-in-governance-worthy-of-emulation/

Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is Nigeria’s biggest political revelation in recent times. Since his stint as Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State, he has demonstrated capacity, excellence, and dedication to duty as virtues of governance. Now as the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, these virtues still live with him and are, no doubt, worthy of emulation.

Since May 2015 when he was sworn in as the vice-president, the professor of law has demonstrated matchless courage, fearlessness, boldness yet submission to his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The respected senior advocate of Nigeria who is arguably the most active Vice-President since Nigeria entered its Fourth Republic, is a man of courage who does not shy away from taking strong yet difficult decisions in the interest of Nigerians.

Fidelity Leaderboard
In describing him, the Senator representing Osun Central in the Senate, Olusola Adeyeye, once said, “Osinbajo has been the most fearless champion of federalism in this country.”

Also, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at a book launch in 2012, extolled Osinbajo. “The capability and firmness of Osinbajo in my time of travails made me triumph against every plan by my detractors to destroy my image and my career,” the former Lagos governor said.

It is also on record that Osinbajo never stampeded the judiciary when he acted as President. The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, got a fair hearing and was first granted bail when Osinbajo was the Acting President.

Also, in August 2018, while President Buhari was away and handed over to Vice-President Osinbajo as Acting President, the professor of law demonstrated firmness when he sacked the then Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, and directed that he be handed over to law enforcement agents immediately after his appointment was terminated. Daura had embarrassed the nation and the Presidency when his men invaded the National Assembly.

The siege by the DSS caught most employees of the National Assembly unawares as cleaners, bankers, reporters, and others who had business to transact within the complex were prevented from entering the premises.

The security officials used an unmarked white Coaster bus and two black Hilux pickups to block the main gate leading to the National Assembly.

Osinbajo, a man of discipline, took a bold step the same day and fired Daura, and appointed Matthew Seiyefa as the DSS DG.

Earlier in February 2017, the Vice-President also in an acting capacity as the President sacked all the directors in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority at the time for gross incompetence that could have endangered the lives of the flying public.

Though detractors came up with all manner of criticisms, the fact remains that VP Osinbajo has been the bold lion who does not seize to do what is right no matter who’s is gored in as much as it is in the best interest of Nigerians, and whenever he has the opportunity to do so.

VP Osinbajo has always been dispassionate and non-sentimental about issues of governance, justice, and fairness and a man like him deserves the respect of every Nigerian.

This story is very interesting and is corroborated by the narrative told in Baba Akande's book of how PYO became VP. So in a nutshell, Tinubu, Aregbesola and Amosun all played equally important roles in the ascension of PYO as VP. The reality of life is that every man that rises to prominence requires the favour of other men, which even the Bible reckons as being next to the favor of God.

What do I need to do to get my normal skill back this is irritating.

Doctors in the house help. It's inching and scratching when there is heat

Go buy Tecotrim drug to deal with the fungi internally. But Cacatin body cream (not hair cream) and apply to adress the infection o
your skin. You can use the cream as full body cream as it's odorless. Buy Epiderm to combat the hitching. These three items I have used and still using to deal with infection. Fungal infection is crazy to deal with.

Also go get your own clipper and never use any one in a barber shop.

Being next of kin is nothing like or similar to being a trustee over inheritance. it is if the man leaves a will and referred to the persons he wants to manage his estate as trustee that they can be construed as executors by the court that will issue the necessary legal instrument to enable the people appointed as trustees manage the estate of the deceased.

Poor article based on total misconstruction of simple English. The VP said CBN should allow the Naira reflect market value. That simply means
CBN should no longer peg Naira value by any means whatsoever, but demand and supply in the currency market to prevail. All these analysis is off tangent coz the premises is wrong

We are saying the currency can never find its real value in Nigeria even if it's allowed to float .. any price it floats at will automatically be marked up in Aboki black market ....Nigeria has been running this scam parallel market before nay of us on this thread was born

We have never fully floated the naira before. Yes; the Naira will crash initially, but it wld later find its real and suitable value. That's exactly why I referenced the Egypt scenario.

But then, assuming we continue managing the value of the Naira as you seem to prefer, invariably, the Naira will only continue to crash because we are largely import dependent so there will always be shortage. But if floated, it won't be majorly abokis selling Dollars to Nigerians, big money currency investors will flood the market with dollars. Eventually, water will find its level. That's the only and painful way to go. Case in point, even if the currency biz in Naira has been in full gear long before we were born, how come the Naira has never had it as bad it has been under PMB even all the years before 2015. It's simply because of chronic corruption that's been powered by the CBN under Emefiele since 2015.

You miss the point coz he never said CBN should fix Naira value. He's obviously telling the CBN to float the Naira so that it can find its true demand and supply value which would literally disarm the strangle hold of currency speculators. Case in point is Egypt which had acute fx issue as Nigeria when PMB came into power, but they have gotten out of that fix because they allowed their currency to find its real market value.

In case you don't know, it was Osinbajo that directed Emefiele to release dollars into the economy when he took charge while PMB was hospitalized. It was then that Naira first got to N515 before it tanked, if not, Naira for don reach N1500 by now.

I know you are a teen ager, so you have many more years to grow and wise up. Calling people idiots up and down shows you are another extremist. you had better go and join Kanu's army of unknown gunmen so you can be quickly wasted so we can have one less infantile commentator on nairaland.com.

Did I ever reject sharia? I love sharia, if you are a Christian sharia is not meant for you so why are you so nervous about something that didn't concern you?

The Sharia won't stop with you or your fellow Sharia lovers that are will seek to impose your maniacal ideas on non-lovers, and that's the concern for people like me.

Keep speaking English, you had your chance and all you could do is story telling.

Go and watch the video from beginning to end, I'm sure it won't be so much of a mental heavy lifting for you.

Anyways, he said the President is the Commander-in-Chief, and there is no operation that can be carried out by the military without his authorization, no matter the level of intelligence gathered by top level security personnel like him.

If you can't tell us the names, then shut the FVCK up with your cork and Bull stories.
Another pile of rubbish.

If your govt that knows the names refuse to name the criminals, what do you expect a private citizen to do. You want him to be defending multiple suits in court if the people he names sue him for defamation, and then he has only oral evidence to defend himself. Many of you are childish with how you rant on the internet.

If he knows them why is he covering them? Why are you trying so hard to blame Muslim for this?

I don't even have to try to blame Muslims for anything, most terrorists identify themselves as doing the bidding of ☪️. Whether they are justified or not is another matter entirely.

Now I get your grievance; its because the man said the end game of the killings we are witnessing all over across Nigeria is to Isamize Nigeria. You may choose to close your bare eyes to yes truth or not; the facts are glaring for all to see

Even Taliban seeks to impose sharia; is Sharia law not part of Isalm or a Muslim identity.

This so-called old soldier is a hypocrite, what is the relationship between Juma'at prayer and NDA attack? This is certainly a bigot. Why is he hellbent on linking Buhari with Bokoharam? Why didn't him kill the Bokoharam that he admitted he arrested? Why didn't them kill all the Bokoharam during goodluck? If he knows those that attacked Jaji barrack let him come out and name them or he should shut up

You didn't even bother to watch the video to learn his premises. He said, the open assess to security formations for Jumat prayers on Friday is the opportunity used by extremists (whereby all manner of people wander freely in all of Nigeria's high security premises) to survey the places and plan their attacks. Do you know what it means for extremists to attack NDA; they can't just walk in without knowing when and how to demobilize the men on patrol.

All religious gathering should be banned, he shouldn't have mentioned only Mosques, what of churches? We will not just allow any bigot to paint our religion black, we must open mouth and said the truth

He mentioned that security formations are not opened to Christians on Sunday for worship like it's made assessible for Muslims on Fridays.

You only justified the assertion that religion is our problem in this country.

The so-called commodore is a fool. He was among those that brought Buhari to power because of his and his people's hatred against Jonathan. What's the fool telling us now? What we don't already know? We Igbos knew about this long ago and warned all you idiots. but ostrich behavior wouldn't let you see beyond your hate.
The idiot is still hoping for a better nigeria. I don't know why these people and slavery are like 5 & 6. Intelligent officer my foot. Even with his many years of intelligence, he couldn't see what an ordinary Igbo man saw in Buhari that made us reject him 4 times. Amala and gbegiri intelligent officer.

First, I advice you to go watch that interview from beginning to end.

Secondly, I wonder why people like you cannot make a comment without cursing or abusing others. Is it that you get an orgasm by being crude or your brains are too infantile for civil discourses.

Thirdly, no man is perfect; so although he belived in BUHARI in 2015, he has come out to denounce him. By the way, it was the lackadaisical attitude of Jonathan in tackling the security issues at the time that made many people think maybe Buhari would do a better job, being a 'feared and tough' military guy.

Fourthly, the man has said he had to openly speak to the media (at the risk of his life) to warn the entire nation that what would happen in the two years left of BUHARI regime would be worse than anything we have seen till now. So, pls bear in mind that going by his Professor Kunle Olawunmi's grave warning to the entire nation today, it is possible that those your fingers that are quick to type invectives can be cut off for 'mistyping' if Buhari succeeds in turning Nigeria into another Afghanistan.

Fifthly, no matter who supported Buhari in 2015 or not, we are all bearing the brunt of his actions. So the better course of action is for reasonable people to man up and band together to defend Nigeria, like Aisha Buhari once clamored for.

AGF will lose the case 0 - 15, at the supreme court, for all the Fulanis at the Supreme Court have DEMENTIA.

You think giving Supreme Court judgment is like sharing biscuit and moin-moin. Anyways, if that happens at the Supreme Court, then there is no other alternative for the South than we go our separate ways.
