You claim that there is a god, prove it.

How would you prove to a blind man that the shirt you are wearing is purple?
How would the first boy prove to the other boy in the cartoon that he has an 'atom' rather than a 'baseball'? EDIT -- (To clarify question number two: I meant if the first boy had an atom instead of a baseball, how would he prove it when the second boy asks him to prove he indeed has an Atom.)
Using toba's example of the dream scenario here too, How do you expect me to prove to you that I had a dream in which I saw a dog with two heads?

Deep Sight: Indeed, as I have argued on this forum before, anybody making a claim against a default position, must bear and discharge a burden of proof - even where the default position is wrong. This is exemplified by the likes of Nicolaus Corpernicus - bless his soul, its his birthday today.

The default position of mankind based on its common experience is intelligent causality: and even if this position is wrong, anyone who says the contrary would therewith be saddled with a burden of proof.

b) The burden of proof is on him to proide a picture of his dog or show us his dog.

Care to share what's foolish about his post? The inference that the position that there is God MIGHT be wrong? Or the inference that the position that there is no God might be wrong if that were the default position of mankind?

Solozzo: The biggest problem to atheists and religionists as well is that the religionists describe their god in human terms- a big king on a throne above in man's image. Yet they find it impossible to explain how he is omnipotent, omniscience and never had a beginning. They, the religionists have no idea about the vastness of the universe, it's laws, evolution and so on relying on myths written ages ago to explain everything. The fact that we do not know for sure about how this God in terms of his origins, power source etc, if there is a God or not nor we know the necessity for his existence as things naturally exist as we know them. A being that caused the existence of stars that are millions of times bigger than the earth for existence cannot be limited by size of a throne. Laugh out loud.

Our concept if a creator that made us superior to other creatures is a reflection of our narcissism, greed and ignorance.

Since we cannot define God and do not know about God's qualities for now, let us stop formulating myths about him and study nature and live by its laws and rules. Stop deceiving people you religionists.

Can man, given his size of the chair/throne he sits on, create , for example, an air plane/a warship / Eko Atlantic'? Where did you get the notion of that the size of God's throne (whatever picture of that you have in relation to what he created) limits him?

The second bolded, in my opinion, would be very rightly directed at the 'Atheist Religionists' who formulate myths about a B.I.G.B.A.N.G!

To you your question. It is due to the fact what religionists say about God non-limitless, perfect, loving and all encompassing. Whereas nature we find ourselves(as we know it to be)is imperfect, that alone is questionable. And, many discrepancies and contradicting things in the religion books not only limit their Gods but prove nothing like that exist at all.Even with the one with our own environment, earth.

(1) Perfect progenitors give birth to deformed/imperfect offspring
(2) Offspring born perfect, of perfect progenitors, can -and do in many cases- become deformed

Explain the above to these '1st graders'!

If he breaks his promises, then at the very least, the is being immoral because the could have fulfilled the promise but chose not to do so. Even if he had no obligation to do it, once he made the promise, as a moral being, he becomes bound by it.

I personally have no problem with that because if he could make heaven with freewill and an absence of evil, surely he could do the same here on earth. Or is it that there is no freewill in Heaven? Or that people still sin in Heaven?

Several points here.

1. He could have given humans eternal life without the pointless death of Jesus.
2. Jesus' death wasn't that much of a sacrifice given his foreknowledge and the personal outcome to him. Many people have sacrificed much more than Jesus did for much fewer people.
3. Based on that passage, God is supposed to love the world. Yet he sits back and allows diarrhoea to wipe out helpless children. I don't think that shows love to humans.

ATHEISM is a 'BELIEF/BELIEF SYSTEM' that 'THERE IS NO GOD (BUT LOGIC/MIND/SELF)'! Sounds like a RELIGION to me o!

omo_to_dun: I respect your civility. Mr Billyonaire, I actually have no definition for God. I do not claim to know anything about Him or Her. But I claim that the definition of God, with respect to the Bible, is problematic, for God partook in so many atrocities in the Bible, including but not limited to genocide and discrimination. These acts greatly contradict the loving and merciful picture of God that is painted by Christians. Now if Christians agree that their God is capricious, dictatorial, and whimsical, then I will hold my peace.

I find it hilarious that Christians, in trying to defend their God, would immediately condemn me to hell. Is that ironical? A merciful God created Hell! I am absolutely willing to learn. But we must be honest with one another, ask questions, and confront any contradictions that maybe heaped upon us.

At the bolded: A RIGHTEOUS GOD OF JUSTICE CREATED HELL! Do you by chance know anyone who was (is being) denied justice by here on earth? The merciful God has created an avenue (Jesus Christ) for you to receive mercy but it's up to you (freewill) to accept it.

Some xtians visit those places because they 'do not know their God'. When they visit and inquire from 'other gods' they open windows for the enemy to come into their lives. (2 Kings 1:16 .... Is there no God in Israel?....). They may receive things from the devil but at a great cost. Visiting other gods is disobedience to the first 2 of the 10 commamndents.

Going to God through Christ is sufficient for every Xtian. His word and promises are sufficient. Xtians need to stay in Christ, develop their relationship with god and access all that the Father has made available for us (Daniel 11.32 ..... those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits...). There is goodly and appropriate thing in line with God's will that we cannot get from him.

Xtians need to learn to wait wait wait for God's time! Wait, no matter how long it takes (Habakkuk 2:3 ... though the vision tarry, wait for it for it shall surely come to pass)! We end up causing problems ourselves when we don't wait. Sarah trying to fast-track God's promise through Hagar caused her lots of problems.

Why should we as children of God tell our Father that he cannot give us the things we want? (Matthew 7:11 .. 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!) He'll give us, if we ask. When we ask, we should wait to receive what we asked for.

You need to stand by your belief and accept the consequences. People have been sentenced or to death ostracized for conversion to another religion. You have to live with your decision and find like-minded friends. Marry an atheist and create your own atheist family! Problem solved! What do you love doing? What do you do best? Pointers.

God's will many times seems difficult to us because we do not see things the way God sees them. I mean that he see the whole picture, we only see part of it. He sees the future, we don't. He knows us more than we do ourselves and he sees the very heart and soul of the people around us while we don't, and knowing this is very important especially when it comes to marriage matters.

One of the most difficult things to do is to 'wait' for Gods will! Tell that to a woman who has been waiting for a husband or child for 5 years or more. Tell that to people who have been waiting for good things for quite some time. Even Sarah couldn't wait and organised Hagar'. The results of not waiting for God's will are usually disastrous for us. Not waiting for God's will - especially where we know what is will is (this include where he just tells us to wait) - in itself is 'disobedience' to God.

God's will may seem difficult but we need to always remember that 'His plans for us are plans of good, not of evil, to bring us to an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). 'Everything works together for good to them that love God ....' (Romans 8:28).

We lose no good thing by doing God's will!

Where has the OP been? A woman's trouser is different from a man's trouser! Most women do not wear men trousers and most men do not wear women's trousers especially as it will look totally ridiculous on them. The verse is condeming cross-dressing, not the act of wearing clothes specifically designed for a certain sex in a particular society. Most women do not wear trousers so that they can look like a man. Scottish men, for example, wear kilts so that they can look like a woman.

When are we going to move on from things like these to the weightier matters of the law?

Logicboy03: 1) You can't be violent because you are an atheist. There are violent atheists but they aren't violent because of atheism. Why? Atheism is only a stance on the existence of God.

2) A christian can be violent for both christian and non-christian reasons. There are violent passages in the bible or the christian could come from a violent home.

3) Countries that have moved past religion are secular countries in which the separation of church and state is quite clear, religion holds little importance in everyday life and they have a significant amount of atheists/agnostics/irreligious. Japan and Denmark for one.

4) The bible supports slavery. Django is about slavery of blacks which was supported by the bible and major christian denominations.

The Bible does not support slavery. The Bible records regulated the slavery that was aready in existence worlwide at the time it was written! That regulation was for that era, not now. How many times do we have to tell you that greedy men twisted the word of God to suit their selfish aims .... just like you are now twisting the word of God to spread your hatred of xtianity and rebellion against God. You are intelligent enough to clearly differentiate between laws that were meant for a certain people at a certain point in time from those that were meant to observed without throughout time. Folly doesn't suit you, Logicboy03; desist from exhibiting it!
