Christianity EtcRe: Hebrew 4: 14-16 by seyibrown(f): 2:08am On Mar 23, 2013
ogeelove: Can someone please explain Hebrews 4 14-16. Is it (1) our past sins are forgiven and so we should have confidence when asking GOD for anything. our manner when asking should be with boldness. Or (2) Christ was tempted in every way we are tempted and he did not sin. When we are tempted we should have confidence and approach GOD's throne knowing we will find grace to help us deal with whatever temptation we are faced with. Is The writer asking us not to beg but to speak boldly when talking to GOD? E.g some people say 'please GOD' while some say I 'command'. I ask this for a reason.
please I want simple and concise answers. I cannot get my head around tedious words. No name calling, no swearing and definitely no church bashing. Thanks
When you find you have erred, go to God and ask for forgiveness. Repent and move on; don't go back to sinning. God has forgiven you. If you are weak concerning a particular temptation, approach God for grace. Acknowlegde that he can give you grace to overcome that sin; Ask confidently, knowing (trusting) that he will give you the grace to live in a way that pleases him.

In prayer, there are matters to plead and matters to command. You cannot command forgiveness, as it comes from an authority other/higher than you; You therefore plead with that authority (God) for forgiveness. You can declare/command/decree a thing through the authority that is in the name of Jesus. You cannot force God to forgive you; you plead. You can command the enemy (confidently, using the authority in the name of Jesus) to release something he has stolen from you, or you can plead with (beg) God to take it from the enemy and return it to you.

When praying, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. With the exception of when you are praying in tongues, you do not need to use words you do not understand. Use words which you understand. You may also try to buy 2 or 3 bible versions (or compare several versions online at a site like http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews+4%3A14-16&version=NIV) so that if you find one not very clear to you, you can try the other versions.

I hope that was helpful and I pray that you continue to grow in the understanding of the word of God. Amen.

ooman: wake up from this dream, there is no God.
Why not leave this God alone! You are much more bothered about his existence more than those who believe in him.
Christianity EtcRe: Our Ultimate Purpose And God's Nature. by seyibrown(f): 2:40pm On Mar 20, 2013
okeyxyz: Our Ultimate purpose:
To be the manifestation of God, in spirit and in Flesh. God cannot sin(this is the source of all creativity/miracles) and God cannot die.

As per God cannot sin: Man(christian) needs to realize that there's nothing natural(that he does) that can be sin. This is what christ has accomplished in conscience by representing THE LAW(the power of sin) and dying, therefore this law and it's decrees are legally defeated. Yes, Even sex between unmarried, consenting adults cannot be sin, for we are se.xual beings, born of sex and our nature demands it. But sadly, "everybody" still defines sex, fornication and marriage based on THE LAW that we're supposed to be free from.
Why does it always boil down to you promoting fornication as acceptable to God?
Christianity EtcRe: Davidylan, Striktlymi, Ihenobi, Chukkynwob: I Renouce Atheism. by seyibrown(f): 2:23pm On Mar 20, 2013
ooman: After dialogue with these eediots, i thought its high time i made a new stand on nairaland. I shall remain an atheist on other forums but on NL, i am now a nontheist. Nontheism according to wikipedia is a term that covers a range of both religious[1] and nonreligious[2] attitudes characterized by the absence or rejection of theism or any belief in a personal god or gods. It has become an umbrella term for summarizing various distinct and even mutually exclusive positions united by a naturalist approach.

Pls guys, whenever we get engaged in a debate, do not engage me as an atheist but as a nontheist. It is a shame to share identity with the fo.ols above.
You said you are no longer an Atheist on NL ... and that you should now be regarded/ engaged as a nontheist (aka Atheist grin ). Recently you also said you were no longer ooman but homosapiens but you are still ooman as I write! Wotzup with you, man? grin grin grin Why are you oshaka one minute, oshoko the next, and oshaka-oshoko the next? grin grin grin Which one you dey now?

Okiki_Oluwa: Omoge, Dayokanu wrote àdìre which means tie-dyeing (kampala). Talking about the Yoruba name of a fowl, yes you can call it adìye or adìe.
Hope you get that...
I won't be surprised if the 'y' in 'Adiye' is replaced with an 'r' in some dialects and not pronounced 'Adire' as in 'Kampala' but like 'Adiye'. It is very possible. I have heard some very strange dialects from Osun State.

Dedicating this to all the singles (and married) in the house. Love and enjoy the loving of the Lord while you are waiting for the love and loving of that special person. How you love the Lord determines how you love your other half. Experience the love, joy, trust, peace and complete submission of walking with the Lord first. Love the Lord and let him love you; and then do the same with your other half (when you find them, if you already haven't). Please, permit this video. Won't do it again. smiley

obadiah777: LOL MKMYERS45. YALL DONT NEED ME. BILLYONAIRE IS SPOT ON. 'SATAN' WORKS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LORD. HE IS THE LORDS POLICE. HOWEVER THE LORD DOES NOT TELL HIM TO DO EVIL. THE LORD ALLOWS HIM TO DO EVIL BUT ONLY TO THOSE WHO DESERVE IT. ( PROVERBS 16 VS 4 ) ( ISAIAH 45 VS 7 ) ( LAMENTATIONS 3 VS 38 ) ( AMOS 3 VS 6 ) ( HABBAKUK 1 VS 14 ) ( JOB 4 VS 7 ). AND SATAN IS NOT SOME SPIRIT RUNNING AROUND. HOWEVER THIS IS HIS END
JOB 21 VS 30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath

AND JUST A LITTLE INFO ON THE WORD SATAN. SATAN MEANS 'ADVERSARY'. ANYONE WHO IS AN ADVERSARY TO GOD IS SATAN. 'PETER' GOT CALLED SATAN FOR TRYING TO STOP THE WILL OF GOD <<< TRY TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES SO YOU CAN REALLY SEE WHAT AND WHO SATAN REALLY IS.
^^^ The Lord's Police ke? I thought the Police was your Friend! grin How can an adversary be a friend?
