Business / Re: What Immediately Comes To Your Mind When You Get Money? by Seyong10(m): 11:34pm On Jul 20, 2023

Some people mentioned their families, investments, nightlife, gambling, and other things.

And they were all mistaken.

The majority of you don't read, which is a problem because learning ought to be a daily process of improvement.

Read books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, master money management principles, Google is your friend.

As soon as you have money in your hands, budgeting should be the first thing that comes to mind.

The most important thing to focus on if you want to achieve financial freedom is budgeting.

As you practice budgeting, you explore alternative sources of income, and as your revenue increases, your budget grows.

"IAJ ONLINE" is a telegram channel that I constantly suggest to people, search Telegram and join them,

Unlearn, Learn, Re-Learn.
Where can I get these books pls

LandMann:
Indiscipline, challenging environment and lack of focus is why you are unable to learn a skill in Nigeria.

In you spend 25-30 million to migrate to Canada, nobody would tell you to sit up and learn any available skill to perfection so that the money you've spent migrating won't turn to waste.

Also, the challenge of paying bills in whatever country you migrate to will force you to sit up or risk failing and returning to Nigeria.

If I was in your shoes with same opportunities I'd risk 5 million to load up on any one or two crypto that will blow next bull run... Then I'd stop day trading and use the next 18 to 24 months to focus on learning a skill that will be useful to me if I decide to be self employed in future...

Once you've acquired the skills you can then decide to migrate from Nigeria if you so want.

In all this, I think you need an accountability partner... Someone to monitor your progress in your skill learning journey and motivate you to continue before you find another excuse to abandon your plan or course of action.

I can be your guide and accountability partner, your vocal conscience to motivate you to succeed and always remind you of the cost of failing. Send me a pm.
Lol see his mouth like 5m on project that wil blow in next bull run... I wish it was that easy man.. all these beginners forming pros 😂😂

So tonight i asked my girlfriend whom i wish to marry, if she would be willing to marry me as i stay in this selfcon, even if i don't have money to rent 1bed room.

She said she can't, please what does this mean? Possibly not my class? Possibly might leave when things go bad?
My man, don't mind negative comments here.. To be very honest, she's a good lady, it's not advisable to marry into a self con.. what I believe is, she's trying to be a motivation to you. Trust me, my girlfriend is similar. She wants the best for your future and her child's

You were given 3months notice to deposit your old note but, refused believing there most be extension of deadline.

If Buhari like, let him extend the deadline to the next 10years, some people will still wait for die minute.

Is only dull brains that doesn't know that El-rufai is fighting for his personal pocket.
Ok.. we've heard... Now that I've deposited all cash on me and there's none to withdraw, what do you expect me to spend?? Nigerians.. you just cast blame anyhow.. how are we stubborn.. government can't try this in a sane county.
You're here talking like you've got a solution to our problems.. Go to hospitals and see how people are dying avoidable deaths all because of this issue.. you're here saying Nigerians are stubborn when we're actually supposed to storm the Aso rock and force those bastards out of there..
When we're supposed to storm these bastard politicians houses and embarrass them for shying away from their duties

So the ones that were all righteous and poor nko.

Many people need exposure in this forum.

Go to villages you will see many people who never did anything bad to deserve being poor but they have their hopes high.

Many children who were reckless in their youth never ended poor. Especially those with solid foundation.

Hypocrisy is when you take an innocent hardworking old man pics and then accuse Him of leading a reckless youth life.

You might work and save up in your youth but end up poor. How about natural disasters, terminal illness and unforseen circumstances. What about those who were spiritually manipulated. Or those who were duped or defrauded. What about those who faced business downturn and ran into debt.

Be stuopid but know when not to be a nuisance.

Many became Rich by luck as Tony Elumelu claimed it was luck. Some did not need to work hard. Crypto billionaire are a clear example. The same things you do some did little and became Rich. Some people will live a reckless life and still end up being Rich on their dying bed. The drug barons, gun runners, politicians and so on.

Don't mock people who were hardworking at their old age and blame them for being reckless.

Some sold their wealth to save a family or brother.

Haven't you heard. Please just be reasonable.

For instance.
My father was extremely rich in the days of landline.

The change in demand from landphone to handset crippled his business. He could not switch easily. However, things changed later on.
So if he was poor you will call him reckless?

I am sure that people liking OP don't have a family yet. They are still living in their little responsibility lifestyles. Many people had alot of issues due to burden of family and children. Will you also blame them?

Really Please exclude crypto or anything trading... It requires a whole lot of mental stimulation, time, dedication, hard-work and so much more bro.. you'd get depressed and may attempt suicide if you're not even too careful.. it's not so easy as you think man

Politics / Re: Students To Ground Lagos Airport, Police Threaten Showdown by Seyong10(m): 7:47am On Sep 19, 2022
alcuin:
To be honest, I think the FG has tried it's best to resolve these issues with ASUU.

The only thing that's not stopping the strike from going on is ASUU's demand to be paid for the time they are on strike. Basically being paid for no work. ASUU is the selfish party here. NANS should do well and protest against ASUU.

I know it's very easy for Nigerians to always blame government in every issue. In fact, it's the default attitude of most Nigerians, even before understanding the issues.

ASUU is trying to armtwist and blackmail the government, in my opinion. No one gets 100% of their terms in negotiation. ASUU wants the FG to do things in their way.

My advice to FG is to privatise the Universities once and for all. Then provide student loans through an education board. This way, FG directly invests in the education of the students.

FG should strip itself of some responsibilities.
Educational system in Nigeria is far gone.. rotten is an understatement.. you need to see the real picture. ASUU president is ok and fine.. this battle is mainly for students and lecturers
Politics / Re: Students To Ground Lagos Airport, Police Threaten Showdown by Seyong10(m): 7:42am On Sep 19, 2022
FreeStuffsNG:
In one breadth they are in court to compel FG and ASUU to resolve the issue, in another they are breaking the law by resorting to this self help nonsense. They will not help ASUU or politicians funding them.

FG has no N1.3 trillion for ASUU, SSANU, NASU, NAAT so the students should demand that FG and the unions raise school fees to make up the difference and make FG stop creating new universities.

Some of those fees in FG universities are completely impractical .For example, paying N90 for accommodation for 1 full session in 2022 to enjoy all hostel facilities and services is ludicrous because it is not even up to the cost to print the reciept!!

Full scholarships should go to only serious, hardworking and diligent students who are top in both character and learning , nowhere in the world is free or subsidized university education for academically weak and unserious students who fail because of their unseriousness and end up being kicked out of the university after wasting the slot. It is completely inappropriate use of scarce resources to subsidize university 'student' who is not serious in character and learning.

Those 'students' with a horrible entitlement mentality, lazy youth idlying away on social media insulting Buhari and others old enough to be their grandparents should pay full raised fees to get them to become serious enough to switch back to scholars. University education that can not be completely free should devote its free services from scarce resources to only those students who take scholarship and university education serious.

check my signature for free stuffs!

It's obvious you don't/didn't school here.. do you even have an idea of what students experience?? Have you seen spoken to students from better countries, even Ghana here and compare their experiences with Nigerians. Are you talking about same hostel where 15 students sleep in a room like prisoners?? Have you experienced how they take lectures? Some even sit on window frames. Some lecturers don't have chairs in their office, they resort to sitting on stools bro. How many Nigerian public universities can boast of a working and functional laboratory. They shift lectures cos of poor electricity.. these are little out of many..
you're being insensitive and sentimental. Lecturers in Ghana earn over 1.2m, a prof in Nigeria earns max of 450k.. mehn bro, it's really not fair

TheManOfTheYear:
From my job search experiences so far, what I'd tell aspiring devs is to build real-time projects.
Mostly projects that require you to fetch API data, solve a basic need in everyday life.

Brush up on your basic CSS, because most of the take home test I've gotten forbade me from using CSS frameworks, component libraries and stuffs.

Learning GraphQL and REST APIs would really play a
great role here. Alongside their client queries like Apollo, Axios, FetchAPI etc

You may likely be given a design to replicate alongside the task.

Of course I'm speaking from a front-end point of view.
I can't really say what's applicable to other fields.

Just last week, I had a phone call interview with a Nigerian based start-up in Yaba.
The guy seemed to like my personality because I could accurately describe the milestones I achieved in my previous internship experiences.
Learning some professional tech terms helped me there.

But a phone interview is just a preliminary stage. Waiting to hear a call back from them for the next stage.

I'm not really that interested in Naija companies lol.
Majority of them require on-site presence, me wey love remote work.
And considering the economy, the salary would be pretty low especially for juniors.

Let's see how it goes.
Hi brother, I'm currently experiencing what you experienced back in your uni days ... I'm interested in your path bust I'm also a stack beginner.. Still on html level and don't even know how to go further. Had to pause learning due to 8 to 6 classes.. after learning a bit of html, I thought the next step was to do these domain stuffs.. I just keep getting confused . I'd like if you can come to my rescue, maybe text you some times to know what my next line of action should be.. I'd anticipate you reply brother
