Reason why we said propaganda can't take us anywhere.

The last election really brought out the worst set of people in Nigeria and it won't augur well if they don't stop.

This same propagandist used this same method in the 1960s and the result was so disastrous and they are repeating same.

You wonder, is it not the same man who was saying bulaba and so on during campaign that's so articulate now, infact, better than Obi who got a market to market certificate from Havard.

Nigeria belongs to all of us, we should make it great and not use political differences to bring it down.

Ironically, a guy posted on a tread yesterday on front page about his experience in Vietnam in the hands of an Indian consulate and we all condemned the Indian, but truth be told, we are the culprit who always degenerate our Nation online.

Pls let's change.
so it is the opposition that made him to say all those incoherent trash like balablu bulaba, or the one he licked the microphone.

Can you know your history than the current Oba of Benin who is from royal family that said it in a video that is still available on YouTube that he is a descendant of oduduwa and oranmiyan.
It's like you have not even travelled out of your locality to know how big Yoruba land is, that is why you think big about your small Bini land.
Meanwhile, the guy named Balogun in my place of work told me he is from Bini , and l have seen many from Benin that bear Yoruba names.
Even Yoruba extends to itshekri in Delta, Yoruba is not your Bini mate because Bini migrated from Yoruba.
Argue with Oba of Benin that said it on video on YouTube
do you know the ooni of ife rules over just two local govt in the entire osun state 😂😂😂, oba of bini rule over 7 local govt, do you also know that in ancient ile ife your kings were being overthrown anyone like military coups? And that a servant at one time became the ooni of ife and strangers also ruled ancient ife, and that a bini prince was one of the strangers who migrated to ife and ruled ife, do you also know that even till today ife does not have a direct line of succession, in recent past the court has been the one to declare who gets to be ooni? You claim the bini came from ile ife but the bini kingdom is larger then and now than ile ife, your ooni of ife rules over two just two local govt in the entire osun state 😂😂😂 once again.

What did Yorubas do to Benin that made people like you and other minions create many fallacious posts on Facebook about Yorubas?
Don't you guys reason this can create chaos?
Don't you guys know that the gentleness of a tiger isn't cos of fear?
the same question I keep asking, what did the bini people do to you guys, you mock us anytime you hear a bad news about Edo state because we rejected Godfatherism with the Edo no be lagos slogan, you mock our history and our tradition, you lie that bini was given civilization by the Yorubas, you always lie that our king only rule over four local government, when in fact he rules over 7 local government areas, you lie bini came from ile ife but the same ooni of ife rules over just two local government in the entire osun state.

You don't follow up with news
Oba of Benin said it on his coronation day that he is a descendant of oduduwa and oranmiyan
The video is on YouTube for you to see
It's pride that is disturbing many of you Bini people.
And its only 4 Local government that are under Bini which shows how minute Bini is compared to Yorubas that exists in Benin Republic Cotonou, Togo, Brazil etc
let me lecture you a bit on all your claims 1. The bini speaking people of Edo state occupy a total local govt of 7 out of 18 which is almost twice the local govt area the ooni of ife rules over in osun state. 2 the claim of the oba saying his ancestors came from ile ife, one thing you need to know is that a bini prince once ruled over ile ife, he is a descendant of a bini prince who ruled ile ife, in ancient times ile ife didn't have a line of succession there were coups and counter coups even a servant named laguda once ruled over ile ife, even till this present day ile ife does not have a direct line of succession. 3 the mistake you folks always make by justifying your ignorance by comparing bini ethnic group with the Yoruba, is obviously the source of your ignorance, how many Yorubas are from ile- ife? I doubt it makes up 10 percent of your entire population. In ancient times there was nothing life the Yoruba even in this day there is nothing like the yoruba kingdom, you are either an from ile ife kingdom, oyo kingdom, Ogbomosho or other kingdoms, we never claim we developed or had interactions with these other kingdoms the only kingdom history teaches us we had interactions with was the ile-ife kingdom of which in ancient times the bini Kingdom was bigger and more civilized that ile -ife even till today the bini kingdom is still larger than ile-ife so why make it a Yoruba thing when the Yoruba identity came during colonial rule, if not for colonialism, don't you know that an ile-ife might be going to war with Ogbomosho or oyo. The ancient, ile ife didn't even have a standard monarchy or line of succession how then do you even believe that such a people who could barely organize themselves nowgave bini a kingdom when we already had a civilization and a monarchy.

Benin again..

Why is benin(kingdom) the most uncertain tribe in the country today; with no substantial evidence of where they came from and who there predecessors or descendants are.

Today, ask the benin people who there descendants are:

(The 1st day) They will claim their descendants are the yorubas.

(Day 2) They will say it's the Ijaws

(Day 3) They will say it's the Igbos

(Day 4) They will say it's the Ikwerres

(Day 5) They will tell you is the Isokos

(Day 6) They will say its the urhobos (after the migration) - Everytime they will tell you that is either they migrated to that place or that they conquered through war.. People with barely 4 local govt in Edo state, is it not funny?..

Presently, they're raising unequivocal issues and doubts among other confused tribe that are willing to dive into their confusion.

Benin people are really confused who they are, where they came from and who were their good or bad neighbours.

Today they claim fathering Yoruba, tomorrow Igalla or Ijaw, next Igbo, Ikwerre or Opobo or Urhobos. They seem to be hopeless in determining who they are.

(And they claimed they once had a kingdom, hmmm).

How can you be a father to communities that are one hundred percent more than you in population, with highly sophisticated different languages, culture, tradition and customs? See the sizes of Yoruba - Benin, Igbo - Benin, Igalla - Benin. It is that of a Squirrel to an Elephant, and you want a sage to believe that the squirrel is the father and founder of the Elephant. So where is the rationale, the similarity, the closeness, etc.

Their various concocted historical tales are like many herbs in a cauldron giving vane remedy to any sickness, such a tragedy.

I'm a proud Igbo from Obio akpor.

Our fathers never told us we were from bini nor hausa nor yoruba, na their business sha.. All their jokes is on them grin
Ronu miscreants with their stupidity, when has the bini people ever claim they originated from the Yoruba or urhobo? You guys are irredeemably stupid, we have a strong documented history, historical facts, better than some who believe their ancestors fell from the sky without any fact to it.

I’m not sure Asiwaju purposely wanted to dump El rufai , because he has already concluded in his mind to appoint him as the power minister .

El rufai even suggested that ministry of gas be withdrawn from Nnpc and be added to ministry of power and Asiwaju saw it as a brilliant idea .

But we all know Elrufai is too dangerous to allow him preside over those major ministries, beside I think Sheti bobo and Ribadu are eyeing presidency after Asiwaju tenure and they see him as a threat .

Lastly we all know the role he played in Kaduna , and why Dss refused to clear him because of security reasons .
tinubu and el rufai were never friends, and tinubu never wanted el rufai to work with him, forget those talk if the Dss report was that damning why was there no criminal trial, you make it sound like Nigeria has ethics, was it not the same Dss that cleared shetima who also has serious allegations of being a boko Haram sponsor, how about gov matawale who is now the minister of defense I guess, the same matawale has been accused too and dude even has an active corruption case when he was appointed as minister. Why didn't the Dss stop him, tinubu and elrufai were never friends, I guess the main reason el rufai worked for tinubu massively was because he hated obi more than tinubu and he feared that obi might win so he just settled to support his version of the lesser evil.

I suspect el rufai has done bad thing to Tinubu in the past. And he felt Tinubu has forgiven him cos he acted as though he forgave him, lured him to work with him, only to retaliate for that el rufai did to him after he won the election.Dunno, just thinking.
this is just it, there is even a video of el rufai at tunde bakare's church, where he advised lagosians to shun and fight godfatherism, you know tinubu no dey like that kind talk, they were never friends, to even add to your thoughts I think the more reason el rufai fought completely for tinubu might still be influenced by his hatred for obi, I guess he knew obi stood a chance and his hatred for obi was stronger than the hatred for tinubu.

You are obviously the shallow one here, or maybe it is due to your tribal bias. I don't see how Nigerians asking for clarity of concerning issues can be regarded as negative comments or hate, if the govt is sincere they would be so much happy to be transparent and clear doubt, 4billion per km when According to the world bank data a km of road should cost less than 250 million naira, but you can't ask simple questions in the presence of the Ronu miscreants.

I hope you were joking when you typed the bolded part.

Capital projects have been used in many parts of the world to jinja up slow economics. When you build capital projects such as this roads it affects almost every aspect of the economy - cement factories will have to increase their production, raw materials for cement will be sourced, and local businesses for that raw material will benefit. Iron producers will benefit, fuel suppliers and producers will benefit, engineers and other road construction workers will benefit, food sellers will benefit because they have to feed the workers, and the list is endless
This will help circulate money hard earned money into the economy and act as a catalyst for economic growth.
Now, when the road is done, more and more people will move closer to those areas that have been empty for thousands of years, and businesses will spring up in many areas that have never seen human traffic before. The effect is unimaginable, it will change the Nigerian economy on a monumental scale. A brewery? Are you really serious? grin grin
Comparing this to a beer factory must be an attempt on your part to be comedic ...I will just laugh out loud. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
I agree it has its economic benefits also, we may have our reservation about a beer factory based on moral or health ground but one thing you can't take from it is that it has a large market not just in Nigeria but in Africa, do you know how much france and Italy makes every year from selling wines even the US has a liquor market worth billions of dollars, major celebs like Jay z diddy own a liquor brand when tourist visit Scotland they visit the johnny walker brewery, and the johnny walker brand is worth billions of dollars, Nigerian celebrities even have endorsement deals with some of these foreign brands. The Benin- ore road how many businesses are there apart from the petty traders? It is an highway nobody sites a business on an highway unless you get to a transit city and most of the business that will spring up are still petty traders who sell bread and banana, the highway does not pass through the city centre, so don't expect massive economic output in terms of job creation.
PoliticsRe: Ben Murray-Bruce Talks About The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by Shattuck(m): 3:58pm On May 05, 2024
CommonSense1967:
If you borrow money to build capital projects, that's perfectly ok.

Do you know that Nigeria was borrowing money to pay salaries towards the end of the Jonathan administration? Borrowing to pay salaries? Yes, they did. The finance minister at that time said clearly.

There is no logic in your argument. I live in the US and I can tell you that the US govt is the highest debtor on the face of the planet, I used to work for the US federal govt. They will always borrow money to build capital projects because they know that those capital projects such as roads, schools, and the like will bring more development and create an enabling business environment for businesses to thrive. When businesses thrive, the govt will get more taxes from those businesses, and employed people will also pay taxes. That's how you develop.
Nigeria has thousands of coastal lines that are wasting away right now. How many people do you know that are even thinking of investing along the coastline in other states besides Lagos? I don't know a single person.
With this road, many other areas will become economically viable not just Lagos, people will build hotels and other businesses along the coast in Ond, Ogun, rivers, and others.
This is what you call out-of-the-box innovative thinking. Individuals borrow money to start businesses all over the world, govt also borrow money to build capital projects not to pay salaries.

The vast majority of those against this project are from the SE, so don't try to blame others for what is very obvious.
It also begs the obvious question - why didn't they bring up such objections when Buhari was building the 2nd Niger bridge? Was Nigeria not broke, was Nigeria not borrowing money, didn't we have many other roads in Nigeria that needed attention at that time?
To make it worse, the leader of these blind hypocrites is Obi. Now, this is a man who invested 30 MILLION DOLLARS into HERO BEER in Anambra while the state was facing many crucial issues such as erosion, bad roads, bad schools, doctors on strike for 13 months, and many more issues, yet he thought it was ok to invest that kind of money into a brewery.

vanguardngr. com/2015/05/govt-borrows-n473bn-to-meet-up-with-recurrent-expenditure-says-okonjo-iweala/
the US is more economically viable thus comparing western nations borrowing and Nigeria's borrowing isn't the same, I am not totally against the building of the highway my concerns are basically the cost and timing, by the way building a beer factory is even more economically viable than the coastal highway, from the local farmers who supply some of the brewing ingredients to the production of tons of the product, to the packaging, transportation and distribution and the wholesale and retail sellers a beer factory provides more economic insentive, in the end governance is largely based on perspective if tinubu is sure that the best way to spend over a billion dollar at the moment is to build an highway at an overbloated cost then it's ok.

Was there no alternative route when Buhari decided to build the 2nd Niger Bridge? Did you people complain about wasting money when you have other alternatives?
I am not from the south east if that's your thought, I am from the south south, this is very easy for folks to understand but some of you criticize dissenting opinion for political and ethnic reasons rather than logic, Nigeria has been borrowing to keep afloat since tinubu came on board, spending over one billion dollars of borrowed funds on an highway in the very first year of your presidency in the midst of economic turmoil is not the way to go, I can't criticize it too hard because it is development nonetheless, but the way you guys turn it into ethnic and political battle does not even give room for constructive criticism of the govt this was the same card you played during the buhari's regime, do you know that 4billion dollars is the amount they would spend to construct one km of road, while according to data from the world bank the same one km of road should cost less than 250 million naira, even factoring inflation 4b per km is on the high side but we can't talk about this otherwise I would be accused of being igbo, ipob, obedient etc.

It’s political for some people, if Nigeria becomes better, if people get some semblance of hope, how will they campaign in 2027? Nigeria is getting better but let’s remove the man who is making it better?

The president and his team will take the praise or fall for this government performance, they have the liberty to decide what is priority and what isn’t. If you want to be a decider, win an election.
tbh while the highway is development, but any right thinking and honest individual would see truth in what the opposition is saying, that highway cost over a billion dollars, can anyone honestly say spending over billion dollar on an highway at this moment is the best decision, when there are alternate routes, companies are leaving, economy is slowing, poverty is rising, inflation etc, another I noticed is the likely corruption going on one km of that road would cost over 4billion yet the world bank benchmark for a km of road is 220 million naira.

it is very obvious who the tribalist voters are in Nigeria, and it is not the SE but the SW, here is why, you can't accuse the SE of being tribalist because they voted overwhelmingly for obi in 2023 because the SS and NC voted massively for the same candidate which proved the fact that the SE voted the best candidate, but in 1999 when you all voted olu falae no other region voted him, if olu falae was that good how come other region didn't vote for him but only his region, another thing worthy of note even in 2011 when the whole nations was open to a south south presidency, a region that has fed Nigeria since forever, and for the first time a niger delta indigene was running for presidency yet you guys didn't vote Jonathan. It just shows that you have to sense of fairness whatsoever, the same sense still played out in the 2023 election, those of us from the south south can see clearly who the tribalist are, the SE voted massively for Jonathan because the believe in competence and fairness, the voted Obasanjo massively because they aren't tribalist.
