A lot have been said about the animal kingdom and
how thwarted world we now live in is tending toward
an animal kingdom. I thought that the last chapter
will be the last but I realise that there are more
similarities between the two worlds. Briefly we will
examine some animalistic behaviour that we now
exhibit in our world today. Please, relax and read
through:
# MIGRATION
One of the characteristic of the animal kingdom
especially the ruminant animals migration. They
move from one geographical locations to another in
search of greener pastures. They travel great
kilometres in search of food, especially during
drought period animals such as wildebeest, Zebra,
buffalos e.t.c move in search of food and water
while others such as the salmon migrate to
procreate, this is yearly and it happen at specific
time in the year. The carnivorous animals such as
the Lion, cheetah, leopard, crocodile e.t.c who had
claim territory for themselves usually wait in
ambush for them as they see food approaching
without having to go long miles in search. In true
sense if this animals decide not to migrate they will
probably all died of starvation, they migrate because
they need to and not because they wanted to.
The human world is not quite different form that as
well, men migrate from one place to the other it
might be intrastate or interstate or out the country
as a whole, but why do they do that? It is because it
is needed or because they felt it is needed, or they
just wanted it. Many migrate because of their basic
wants and not needs, they migrate solely because of
the cares of live and not because they needed to do
the will of God, some don't even think about the
dangers ahead or the difficulties in their new
location. My cousin went to India and where he
was, he was approached by an india lady, who
asked him to help her secure a Visa to Nigeria, that
she is suffering in India, he looked at her that if
Nigeria where to be better than India he won't have
sought for medical attention in India and that
Nigeria is facing almost the same challenge, she
won't believe Him but that's the truth. The truth is
we will have reasons to migrate form one place to
the other but the question is why? It is to satisfy
ourselves or to please God? Are we going because
we thought it is needed or because God needs us
there? Think about it, there is a way that seems
good to man but its end leads to destruction.
# INSTINCT NOT WISDOM
Animals can be very very intelligence, they can be
able to learn as human does, imitate man in actions,
all this sum together they are still not wise. Animals
are yet to differentiate good from bad, right from
wrong, they only do what they want to do per time
or if they are trained they do what they are told.
Despite all the training, animals have still proven
that they aren't wise as some still attacks their
trainers sometimes kills them. When an animal is
hungry he doesn't think twice he goes in search of
food and when he sees the food they eat, they are
moved by instinct and not wisdom. Men also are
more like animals in our modern day, they do not
think of the result or the consequences of their
actions, once its satisfies their present want or
urge. They live for the now, survival that is
animalistic not humane. Think about it, are you led
by instinct or by wisdom. Jesus is the Wisdom of
God.
# CAMOUFLAGE
Animals are master of disguise and they do that to
prey and avoid been preyed on. Animals both on
land, air or in the waters are good in camouflage.
Their is a fish that disguise as a female and fools
the male fish and fertilized the eggs (the male
actually guards the eggs from intruding). The
chameleon which is know to be the master of
disguise does so to prey and to avoid been the
prey. It has been noticed that albino cats such as
Lions, Tigers etc don't survive in the wild because
they are easily spotted by their prey, disguise is a
natural way by which they live and destroy each
other. Animals needs it to survive but men wants it
to destroy each other. Men are the best in
camouflage, they pretend to be what they are not
for many reasons and deceive each other to get
what they want. The world is filled with a lot of
disappointed individuals because they have trusted
men and women who have disguised as saint but
actually are demons. We need to be careful, a heart
that is not with Jesus is wicked heart and a master
Odun disguise. Note not a heart that goes to Church
or bears a christian name or a worker but a heart
that is dead to self and his carrying His cross daily
when following christ. Are you an animal or human
being.

243 Accord Party aspirants obtained forms
for 32 assembly seats in Oyo
UNLIKE in the 2011 general election, when its
leadership was literally scouting for candidate
to fly their party’s flag, aspirants have over-
subscribed for the expression of interest, as
well as nomination forms of the Oyo State
chapter of the Accord Party.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that 243
politicians from across the 33 local
government councils in the state obtained
the two forms to occupy the 32 seats that
would be vacant in the House of Assembly
next year.
For the available14 House of Representatives
seats, 63 aspirants purchased forms, while
only six expressed interest in the three
senatorial tickets on offer in the party.
Investigation further revealed that only the
national leader of the party and former
governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja
picked the forms for the governorship ticket.
The governorship forms were sold for N1
million and those of the Senate and the House
of Representatives for N750, 000 and N500,
000 respectively, while each House of
Assembly aspirant paid N300, 000 each for
the forms.
At the close of the forms purchase on
Monday, Accord made conservatively N109.9
million from the forms purchased by 313
aspirants for 53 elective positions, subject to
the number of female aspirants, who paid
reduced fee for the forms.

Publicity Secretary of the party, Dr Nureni
Adeniran, confirmed the large number of
aspirants, expressing the confidence that
Senator Ladoja is Oyo State’s governor-in-wai
ting.
Adeniran said those who subscribed to the
forms of Accord Party were aspirants, who
did not wish to throw away their hard-
earned money, saying “Accord is the party to
beat” and the reason the leadership of other
parties were keen to bringing Ladoja to their
fold.
The party had since commenced the
verification of claims by the aspirants and is
billed to begin its primaries on November 20
and will be concluded on December 10.

The Governor of Oyo state,
Senator Abiola Ajimobi as well as
other public servants were in the ancient city of
Oyo yesterday to
felicitate with Alaafin, Oba Lamidi
Adeyemi on his birthday. But the
governor got more than what he
bargained from the people of
Oyo who booed him as his convoy returned to
Ibadan.
The rain of abuses started at
Akesan where traders lined up at
the road to shout, like “ole (thief)”,
“aba ona je (destroyer of road)”, e
ba wa pari ona wa o (help complete our
road)”. The traders were
apparently referring to the Iseyin-
Owode-Akesan road project
whose
completion the Governor has promised on a
number of
occasions without fulfilment. Work
has currently stopped on the
project even
though Ajimobi had promised
earlier that he would complete it September month-
ending.

complained the road project had
brought decline to their sales, while

WHO IS BUHARI? I write this because of millions of
Nigerians who are
below 30 and who constitute a significant chunk of
our voting
population. This is the ICT generation that is
largely ignorant about the
events of the Buhari era (1983-85) and so can be
misinformed and
misled by needless propaganda. I have sat with
many in the under-30
bracket and those slightly above who only have
faint recollections of the
Buhari era and the level of ignorance about that era

being MILITARY Head of State, Buhari had been
Governor of one of the
Northern States (under Obasanjo’s Military
government) as well as
Minister for Petroleum. He later served as Chairman
of PTF under
Abacha. Please consider the following unassailable
facts: ·He birthed and
supervised the establishment of our existing
refineries. ·There was no
religious crisis while he was Head of State. It
started under his successor
IBB! ·In his time as Head of State he reduced
inflation from 23% to 4%,
by fiscal discipline and a homegrown economic
team (not achieved under
any other era, even military). ·JJ Rawlings of Ghana
took over 2yrs before
him, and killed all the corrupt leaders, while Buhari
only sentenced the
corrupt leaders here to prison. ·Under his watch as
PTF Chairman, what
he did in road construction in that short period
hasn't been matched by
12yrs of the PDP. ·Hospitals and universities
around the country never
witnessed as much benefits as they got from the
PTF from any
government after or before his time. ·Despite
serving in senior capacity
in the oil sector, first as Minister for Petroleum and
then Petroleum
Trust Fund, Buhari has no petrol station, much less
a rig, refinery or an
oil block like so many of our leaders. ·He could
have retired into
nauseating opulence like an IBB or Danjuma or
even OBJ but didn't.
·Instead of hobnobbing with the high and mighty,
he has cast his lot with
the ordinary man most of who follow him out of
hope and belief in his
values. People who know him have said of him...
"All I need from Buhari
is his word, I can take it to the bank". ·He is the
only politician in the
North today who fills rallies without renting a
crowd. The Kaduna rally of
2nd March is eloquent proof! ·He refused to collect
an allowance while
serving as Chairman of the PTF because he said
since he was already
drawing a pension from government, his
conscience would not allow him
to draw another salary from the purse of the same
government. ·He is
the only former head of state that does not own
property or land in
Abuja . ·Every attempt to rubbish him through
probes in time past eneded
up vindicating him! The man who was asked by
OBJ to take over the
running of PTF before it was scrapped with the aim
of probing and

prosecuted for
misappropriating $100m of PTF funds! Buhari

2015 – I HAVE NO DEAL WITH APC – LADOJA.
National Leader of Accord and former Governor of
Oyo state Senator
Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has debunked Newspaper
report linking him with
political deals with the All Progressives Congress
(APC) for the purpose of
next year’s election describing it as “total and
absolute falsehood”.
Ladoja in a statement signed by his media aide,
Alhaji Lanre Latinwo
in Ibadan yesterday affirmed that neither his boss
nor the party was
involved in any alliance talks with any political
party.
According to him, it was true that Senator Ladoja
was in Ota to visit
former president Olusegun Obasanjo as a mark of
respect for the former
President who had earlier paid him a condolence
visit over the death of his
mother insisting that his visit to Ota was not for
any political reason.
The aide averred that his principal, Senator Ladoja
did not at any time
had any political meeting with the APC leader,
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu
disclosing that the latter never visited the Bodija
home, Ibadan of his boss
in the last four years.
He further disclosed that all other personalities
mentioned in the
news item were not in his house on the said
October 3rd
preceding the celebration of this year Eld-kabir
festival stressing that the
former Governor was busy preparing to mark the
Sallah with his family and
political associates.
“With the above explanation, it is obvious that the
news item is the
figment of the imagination of the writer.”, he added
Alhaji Latinwo maintained that the Accord Party in
Oyo state remains
one united entity and would continue to grow in
leaps and bound due to the
sincerity of leaders of the party and the genuine
love of the people.
He, therefore, urged members of the party and the
general public to
disregard the insinuation in all its eternity asserting
that the Accord Party at
the moment is not involved in any alliance talk with
any political party.

Ladoja#
In a bid to consolidate its hold on the S/W geo-
political zone and ensure a block vote for its
candidates in 2015 elections, the leadership of the
APC, has re-opened its negotiations with the former
governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Adewolu
Ladoja.
The APC leadership was said to have been worried
about the political situation in the state, especially
with the exit of Senator Ayo Adeseun from the party
to the PDP, shortly after Lanlehin’s defection to
Accord, making APC to have lost its two senators
in Oyo State to the opposition parties.
Informed sources within the government circle in
Oyo State revealed that APC national leader,
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had been sending emissaries
to Ladoja to join the APC and avail the party his
wealth of experience.
It was reliably gathered that a former governor of
Osun State, who recently joined APC and a former
Secretary to the Oyo State Govt (SSG) were among
the new emissaries sent to lobby Ladoja to join the
APC.
With the intense lobby and calibre of personalities
involved, Ladoja was said to have agreed to a
meeting with the party leadership for a discussion
on APC overtures.
The meeting, which held on Friday, October 3, had
in attendance Tinubu, former governor of Ekiti State,
Mr. Segun Oni, the national vice-chairman of APC
in the South-West, Chief Pius Akinyelure and an
unnamed political figure in the zone.

in Osun not nullified —APC
THE political brickbat between the Osun
State chapters of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) and the All Progressives
Congress (APC), yesterday, resumed a
fresh dimension as both parties traded
words over the Court of Appeal judgment
in Akure, which struck out the appeal of
the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) on the state’s Resident
Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador
Rufus Akeju’s eligibility to conduct the
2011 elections.
The PDP, in a statement signed by its
chairman in Osun State, Alhaji Gani
Olaoluwa, tasked the judiciary to go the
whole hog in ensuring that the appeal
court judgement is implemented, even as
it called for the removal of all federal and
state legislators elected in 2011.
Olaoluwa said INEC committed a grave and
fundamental error by not obeying the
judgement delivered by the Federal High
court in February, 2011, saying the Court
of Appeal dismissed the appeal filed by
INEC on the judgement that prevented
Akeju from conducting the 2011 elections
in the state, “then the elections are null
and void and anyone produced in the
elections should be sacked immediately.”
But the APC contested the claims that the
judgment nullified the elections of
lawmakers at the state and federal level,
calling on the PDP to produce the certified
copy of the judgment rather than feed the
public with lies and misinformation.
The APC’s director of publicity, research
and strategy, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, in a
statement, maintained that “until the PDP
can produce that certified true copy of the
Appeal Court’s pronouncement, Nigerians
and particularly the citizens of Osun should
totally discountenance the PDP’s claim
that the court has nullified the elections of
their legislators”.
According to the statement, “there is no
such declaration by any court of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria. What the PDP
has fed the public is not only a
misinformation, it is a blatant lie”,
stressing that the Court of Appeal neither
made pronouncement on the substantive
suit which is not before the Court of
Appeal, but still pending in Osogbo, nor
did it declare the elections of 2011 ‘null
and void’ as the PDP is misleading
Nigerians”
However, the head of the PDP’s legal unit
in Osun, Barrister Ojo Williams described
the claim of the APC as baseless, pointing
out that “the APC were not party to the
case. From the legal perspective, all
actions taken by Ambassador Taiwo Akeju
after the injunction, restraining him from
conducting presiding as REC, amounts to
nullity”.
“The court premised its judgment on the
established affinity and connections of
Akeju to the then Action Congress of
Nigeria (ACN) and its national leader,
Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu. All the
actions taken by him since the March,
2011 till July, 2014 when he proceeded on
leave shortly before August 9, 2014

Senator Olufemi Lanlehin ‘took a bow’
from the defunct Action Congress of
Nigeria (ACN) and is now representing
the Accord Party in the Red Chamber. He
speaks with newsmen on next year’s
election in the state, the chances of
Accord, among other issues. DARE
ADEKANMBI brings excerpts:
AT what point did you decide to pitch
tent with the Accord Party?
There are two levels of reasons why I left
the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria
(ACN). But I will first like to say that all
the political parties in Nigeria are the
same. There is no major difference
between party A, B or C. The only
difference lies in the content- the people
in the parties. That is why you find a
crisscross of political actors moving from
one to the other, looking for who they can
work with. So, what matters in Nigeria’s
political space are the people in parties
and not the parties as an entity. For
instance, what is the ideological base of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or
the All Progressives Congress (APC), or
even my party, Accord? They all have
manifestoes that profess to deliver the
goods. But people have read manifestoes
and party programmes times and times
again, that they have come to know them
by heart.
The only important thing now is who can
deliver. It is just like you want to go into
business. There are some people you go
into business with and you will not need
to write anything down concerning
agreement because their word is always
their bond. When you give such people
your share, they won’t cheat you and they
will deliver. But there are some people
you will need to keep volumes and
volumes of documents when you are
doing business with them. How you shake
hands, you will write it down; the time
you meet and how you vote-either by
show of hand or otherwise- you must
write everything down. But despite all the
huge volumes of documents that you
have kept, your partner still won’t fulfill
his part of the bargain.
So, one has come to learn that one needs
to work with the people one can trust,
who can say something and will follow
through. I have realised that at this stage
of my political career, I must associate
with people who the masses trust and
see as one of them. I must associate with
somebody who has some empathy for the
masses and who does not talk down at
the masses but shares in their
aspirations, goal and pain. It is not about
awarding contracts to build roads.
Anybody can do that.
Why Accord Party?
In my own humble opinion, in Nigeria
today, there is no major difference among
all the parties, when it comes to ideology.
Essentially, what we have is a situation
where like-minds sit together and
strategise towards the acquisition political
power for the purpose of rendering service
to the people. I have learned that the
party to which I hitherto belonged and
that has transformed into the APC in
conjunction with others, has members
that I have found very difficult to work
with. And every politics is local, no matter
how high-sounding a person’s ideological
commitment is. At the end of the day,
what matters is what your people want,
how acceptable they in that party and
what the people of the state think about
the party.
From all investigations carried out by me
and from all the opinion poll done by me,
it is the wish of people both in the ACN of
old and the people of Oyo South
Senatorial district to join a party that has
people with whom I can work and a party
that can serve the state well.
There are complaints over militarisation
of election in the country. What’s your
take on it?
I am so happy with the new system the
Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) has introduced. If
they like, let them bring one million
soldiers, as long as it is going to give us
free and fair election, so be it. Let people
make their choices and decide what their
priorities are and not this hype we see all
over. There are some people who are
masters of hype, propaganda. They will
shout and shout and you will think water
is water by the time they paint it for you.
A particular system of security was used
for an election, they lost and complained.
The same system was adopted in another
election, they still complained. So, what
system do we use? We should be thankful
to Professor Attahiru Jega and we appeal
to him to extend the time for registration
of voters and distribution of the
permanent voter cards.
From what we know and what we can
see, I can assure you that the current
governor of Oyo State is on his way out
of office. The citizens of the state have
been harassed, humiliated and turned out
of their shops and brutalised. We told the
governor that this was not acceptable
because the people voted the party in and
should be treated with decency. What is
the point in planting flowers when people
are hungry? We are not the people’s
masters but their servants. The people
require the minimum comfort for them to
thrive and this has not been forthcoming.
Governor Abiola Ajimobi has always
believed I am after his office, right from
the word go. And I have told him several
times that I am not an ambitious person,
even in Accord Party, I might not contest.
Once there are people who can do the job
and I am satisfied that I have the
confidence of the person who will do the
job, I am okay. So, it is not compulsory
that I am in any office. But, he did not
believe me. He believed I should be
harassed and hounded and he tags
anybody that is associated with me. If I
am not wanted in a place, I had better
take a bow. So, I took a bow from the
ACN.
The national conference has just ended
with far-reaching recommendations
made. Against the background of the
fears being expressed in certain quarters,
if the report is presented to the National
Assembly, what are you lawmakers going
to do with it?
What the National Assembly will do with
the outcome of the conference is
dependent on what the president submits
to us. Incidentally, the whole process was
not stated in the enabling fiat but one
wants to believe that the report will be
acted upon because the report was put
together by a conglomerate of very
eminent, distinguished and passionate
Nigerians who have the love of the
country at heart. Irrespective of the fact
that they were hand-chosen and not
elected, the best brains were in that
conference and they went the whole hog.
So, it is the person who set up the
conference that will determine what to do
with the report. Usually in such
circumstances, he will set up a small
committee to look at that report and
come out with what to do. There are
some of the recommendations that could
be implemented through executive action,
but those that are very fundamental and
cannot be done by the executive will be
sent to us.
The National Assembly is peopled by very
patriotic and very knowledgeable
Nigerians who are going to look very
closely into the report, if presented to us,
and come up with necessary amendments
to the constitution. Let me tell you that
there is an ongoing process of amending
the constitution at the National Assembly
to make it in tune with the wishes and
desires of Nigerians. But, there is nothing
that can be done to the report without it
coming to the National Assembly.
The extant Electoral Act is said to be
choking campaign and a revision of it has
been canvassed to give more room for the
electorate to know the candidates, parties
and programmes by making campaign to
start, at least six months to the general
election.
It is a yes and no situation because the
Act gives the parties a schedule of
activities for primaries and campaign. But
Nigerians know one another. In the olden
days, the parties were supreme. A party
formulated its programme from A to Z.
So, a candidate did not need a penny to
stand for election. The parties looked for
people who would stand for elections on
their platform. They ensured they did not
choose somebody who would disgrace
them and let them down.This was why
the level of corruption then was very
minimal. A certain percentage, I think
about 20 per cent, of what elected
officials got was given to the party.
But now, somebody just comes into a
party and he goes about with millions or
even sometimes billions of naira and tries
to confuse and deceive the electorate. So,
I believe we should go back to the old
system whereby community-based
choices (for candidates) are made. It is
the American system that is fuelled by
money. In our won little community, we
know who is who. Since it is the logos of
parties that are on the ballot, it means it
is the parties that the people vote for.
Community-based choice approach will
prevent a situation where a fraud and
never-do-well will tell us he is a saint or
savior.
What’s your future political aspiration
now that you are in Accord? Are you
going to run as governor as you did in
the defunct ACN or seek a return to the
Senate?
What I will do is dependent on what my
party says I should do. But essentially, my
concern now is to ensure that I help in
making stronger, the groundswell and the
swelling support the Accord Party is
getting from across the state; contribute
my own quota to the total acceptance of
the party in my senatorial district.
When that is achieved and we are totally
on the ground, then the party determines
what I will do and what capacity I will be

In recent times, the crime rate at Ogbomoso, Oyo
State has become inordinately high. And this is
more so the case in areas where the student
populace of the Ladoke Akintola University of
Technology, (LAUTECH) reside.

called the Students’ Union leadership and handed
the criminal over to them. The Speaker of the
Students Representative Council, Olalekan Salami,
alongside other members of the House, took the
criminal in the Unions’ bus, but unfortunately, on
their way to the Police Station, the bus was
involved in a mysterious accident, leaving a
severe injury on Olalekan and 14 other persons in
the bus with the exception of the criminal, Segun
(last name withheld).
This accident further enraged the already pensive
students as they promptly descended on the thief,
stripped him naked and beat him severely. The
police, prior to this time had already been
summoned, so the students’ protest was halted
at Orita Naira, where the Police Force demanded
that the criminal be released to them.
The Students’ Union President, Areo Ajibola and
the student leader, Bolarinwa Sheriffdeen, reacting
on behalf of the entire students, refused to
release him. The school authorities’
representatives present at the scene; Deputy Vice
Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, Dean of
Students’ Affairs, Dr Tunde Olabiyisi and Deputy
Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Ishola, aided in
calming down the students.
After much deliberations among the police force,
the school authorities, the student leaders and the
aggrieved town people, Segun was released on
the agreement that he would be taken to Souns’
palace.
However, a police barricade at Iyana Owode,
obstructed and redirected the protestants from
their initial destination to the Ogbomoso Police
Station.
Upon arrival at the police station, only Segun,
Professor Adebayo, Dr Olabiyisi, Dr Ishola, Areo,
Sheriffdeen, and two National Union of Campus
Journalists members were allowed entrance into
the police grounds.
After a lengthy meeting, the Area Commander and
the District Police Officer assured the student
leaders of justice and maximum security for the
school and the town as a whole henceforth.

Former President Obasanjo
spoke to Saturday Tribune
early on Friday when he paid a
condolence visit to former Oyo
State governor, Senator Rashidi
Ladoja, at his Ondo Street
residence in Bodija, Ibadan,
over the death of his mother,
Alhaja Alimatu Ladoja, who
was buried on Thursday.
The visit of Obasanjo was not
without the usual drama for
which he is known.
Saturday Tribune was
informed of Obasanjo’s visit a
few minutes after 7 o’clock on
Friday morning.
When Saturday Tribune got to
Ladoja’s residence at 7:50 a.m.,
Obasanjo had already arrived
(he got to the house at about
7:40 a.m.) and was in a
discussion with Ladoja and the
immediate past Secretary to
the Government of Oyo State,
Chief Olayiwola Olakojo.
On sighting the reporter,
Ladoja asked how he got to
know Obasanjo was around in
his house, with a reply from
the reporter that journalists
had their news antenna all
over the country and were
always on the trail of
newsmakers.
As soon as Obasanjo realised it
was a journalist that Ladoja
was talking to, he said softly:
“What are you looking for
here? Get out!”
Ladoja intervened and pleaded
with Obasanjo to allow
Saturday Tribune take a
photograph of the trio.
Responding, Obasanjo burst
into jocular remarks and said
to Saturday Tribune: “You have
missed a lot. If you had been
here earlier, you would have
seen me when I was weeping.
I wept profusely and I even
raised songs in honour of the
deceased. So, take your
photograph and we will call on
you when we are done with
our discussion.”
The encounter between
Obasanjo and Saturday Tribune
went thus:
Tribune: What can you say
about the deceased?
Obasanjo: (feigned weeping)

behind can be naughty at

leader of the Accord Party, Senator Rashidi
Ladoja, has said with the quality of politicians,
who have joined the party from all the zones,
his victory as the next governor of the state in
2015 is a fait accompli.

Ladoja, who expressed the assurance that he
will be sworn in on May 29, 2015, said he
would conduct council election within four
months of the inauguration of his government.
He spoke on the Mapo Hill, Ibadan, on Tuesday,
while formally welcoming new members into the
Accord Party from the All Progressives Congress
(APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and
the Labour Party (LP), at a well-attended event
that literally locked down the state capital for
five hours.
Those welcomed into the party were Senator
Olufemi Lanlehin, who currently represents Oyo
South Senatorial District in the Senate; a former
Oyo North senator, Gbenga Babalola; one of the
sons of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland,
Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao, Semiu; one of
the sons of former Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Kabiru
Gbadegesin and Dr Fola Akinosun.
Othere were Honourable Demola Ojo, who
served as chairman on Oyo State Local
Government Association of Nigeria (ALGON) in
Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala’s government;
Honourable Yemi Aderibigbe, who resigned from
Governor Ajimobi’s government as Special
Adviser on Transport.
The lists also included Mr Timothy Ogunkunle,
who was sacked by Ajimobi as Atisbo Local
Government caretaker chairman; Chief
Gbademosi Lakunle; Alhaji Olaide
Mohammedan; Honourable Olayinka OMikunle;
Alhaja Haolat Olasunkanmi; Chief Akeem
Isekolowo; among many others.
Ladoja said Accord, which started as a mustard
seed, had germinated and grown into a mighty
oak, providing political sanctuary to politicians
from all the other parties in the state,
particularly those interested in the welfare of the
citizenry.
The Asipa of Ibadanland used the occasion to
assure members of the party and the people of
the state in general, especially those who were
yet to get their permanent voter cards or
register to be rest assured that they would not
be disenfranchised.
Ladoja, who said he was yet to receive his own
PVC, promised to personal lead a protest march
to the headquarters of the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, if the
commission did not correct the shortcoming
before the elections.
While presenting the party’s flag to the new
comers, he disclosed that more politicians from
the other parties had indicated interest in
Accord membership and would soon join.
Speaking amidst deafening cheers from the
mammoth crowd at the rally, Senator Lanlehin
said he joined the Accord Party because he
could not stand the anti-people policies of the
current government, adding that Ladoja, as the
Accord Party leader, outweighed the leader of
the APC in moral index.
“What more should I say? Accord Party will win
all the Senatorial, House of Representatives,
House of Assembly seat and Senator Ladoja, on
May, 29, 2015, will be sowrn in as the governor
of Oyo State,” he said.
In his own remark, Semiu Arisekola-Alao, who
eulogised Ladoja’s qualities as the masses’
leader, said the huge crowd at the occasion had
indicated that Accord Party was the only party
in Ibadan and Oyo State in general.
“There is no doubt that the Accord Party is the
only party in Oyo State. We will sweep those in
government out with their brooms. Accord Party
will usher in peace, progress and development
in the state,” he said.
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Bashir
Lawal, while welcoming the new members,
assured them of equal treatment and
opportunity with those who had been in the
party since 2010.
He, however, told the new entrants that they
were free to aspire for the ticket of the party to
any position, except the governorship ticket,
which he said, had been reserved exclusively for
Ladoja.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, expressed
similar optimism as to the victory of the Accord
Party in 2015, predicating their hope on the
perceived shattered image of the current
government and the ruling APC.

Accord Party chides Ajimobi over WAEC fees &
non payment of Ibadan Polytechnic Lecturers

ACCORD Party, on Thursday, alleged that the
Oyo State government has not paid the West
African Examinations Council (WAEC) fee for the
state, thereby preventing the students from
accessing their results.
In a statement by its media director, Dotun
Oyelade, the party regretted that this would be
the third time students would be subjected to
such embarrassment.
The party also wondered why the state should
be the only one that had not paid the WAEC fee
of its secondary school students, while it urged
the government to make the progress of
students and the welfare of teachers its priority.
Gov Ajimobi is a common error commited by all
citizens of Oyo State irrespective of status,
trade or proffession. We are all calling upon the
artisans, traders, civil servants, clergy men and
