I'm not even going to bother to dignify the nonsense you wrote. Just simple question, search Google and ask how much is 1 Naira in Iranian currency? The answer is over 100. One Naira gets you over 100 of Iran's currency and you're here spewing trash. Every country in the world is judged based on economic factors and the comfort of their citizens, both Nigeria and Iran are failing in these aspects, to argue otherwise is to remain ignorant!
Did you know the strength of Libyan dinar ??

compare it with currency of advanced economy like japan or south korea ??

i guess libya economic health is better ??

Same question I was about to ask.
Maybe a private school.

OOP is easier than procedural methods.

I was more confused than you when I started learning OOP but then I discovered it was the method of teaching that made it look complicated.

The only way you can understand the topic is by working on a real life application.
You nailed it boss.

I ain't a guru in programming. I started programming about a year ago as per computer science student. so far in school we have treated languages like Vb.net, and C but in each of these languages we didn't really go too deep. for the vb.net I think we stopped at conditional statements or so but for the C we did some basic aspect like functions, arrays and little of pointers, we briskly treated stack and heap but didn't go any further than just the explanation.
Now this semester we are doing python which is an object oriented programming language and the whole concept of object, class, inheritance and polymorphism is really looking so strange and confusing....
please I really need any sort of help you can offer to me I really like programming but this is starting to confuse me...our programming classes right from year 1 is nothing to right home about we learn majority of if ourselves I tried reading through the recommended text but I still don't grab it
you attend which school ??

NO, i am making a point that even though Tech is booming now, it may not be like Oil yet. We have so many jobs available but many are still pegged at employees receiving lower wages.

Freelance is good but the problem is how often they get work I've not really practice it much and will leave it for people in it to talk about it (hopefully they tell us the full story, not just the glorious side)

About Africa elite vs silicon valley junior the problem is not about the dev but about the economy, a nairalander recently talked about his 750k per months foreign remote job that's just barely 2000dollars probably what a very junior developer will take but make no mistake someone earning 750k in Nigeria is far far better, richer and financial stable than a folk earning $2k in USA, infact no one can survive with that in silicon valley it's like earning 100k working and living in Victoria Island or Lekki, how much will your house rent etc be?
oh yeah i got it, getting 4.5k USD monthly and living in the bay area will even be consider suicidal. I know the cost of living there is incredibly high because of the tech company.

Saw things from your vantage point.

I'm not comparing them directly, just comparing them in relation to their domain, Google, Facebook and Co are the developer elite of the Western world; andela, paystack etc are something similar for developers in Nigeria,
Most developers oversea won't want to turn down offers from the FANG company so also most developers until recently won't want to turn down offer from Andela, paystack etc

In andela D0 is intern which is 108, D1 is junior which is 179, D2 is intermediate which is 250+ not sure exactly of upper levels, but I know they take home arm-robber salary, of cause tax, NHS and other deductions will still crumble the money as that's not your take home

All this exclude your medical insurance, breakfast and lunch, fruits and other goodies
You said until recently folks don't turn down offer from Nigeria elite tech firms, is it freelancing that is givin em so much ego?

And for the top echelon at andela, i am pretty sure their pay will only be at par with entry level devs. working for some silicon valley tech firms.

Andela pays way more than that except you are an intern or junior developer

Andela is an elite IT company just like Google, Facebook etc in Africa not every IT company can match their remuneration, intermediate developer at andela will probably earn 250+ excluding breakfast and lunch
You know it laughable comparing Andela(a company funded by Facebook) to Google(a trillion dollar company).

Not even pinterest , reddit or Quora.

So what will be the take home of principal software engineer at andela if an intermediate dev. earn 250 grand ?

Is it really? Compared to the work programmers do & how much they earn all across the world, excluding FAANG companies & others multinationals like Uber, Lyft, SalesForce etc which is like 0.5% of total population of people who code.

I honestly believe the rest of the world are earning averagely to be honest. If you factor in the millions on Freelancer, Upwork, FIverr etc working for less pay to support their families.
r u implying the market forces on these freelancing site makes programmers earn low ??
