Thermodynamics: Hello, can anyone recommend a good coding school in Ikeja where i can learn Java and Java script in 3months? Or If there is anyone who is willing to offer me a one on one class I'll really appreciate, I live in Ikeja, Lagos. I'm a fast learner and I already have some idea about coding, I strongly believe that with the right tutor I can learn Java and Java script in 3months. Learn one language and be good at it. Here the truth and the fact. You can't understand a language within the space of 3 months bro!! |

Programming › Re: Some Months Into Programming, My Excruciating Experience. by Sheriman(m): 10:04pm On Sep 24, 2022 |
LocalStandard1: Some months ago I decided to drop animations and go into programming, a path I've always admired. So far it hasn't been easy, first month was highly depressing, excruciatingly frustrating. I started with the Python language.
Now I have this insatiable hunger and need for more, I wanted to learn more languages even though I am still at my early stage with Python. So i decided to dive into more and now I am learning three more languages after Python, namely, JavaScript, C++, SQL. I plan on being proficient in all these languages by December.
Two biggest experiences I've had are:
1. Programming makes you more intelligent and persistent. You develop that attitude to always want to surmount or crack difficult problems, in real live.
2. Starting with one language makes it more, more easier to grasp the rest, maybe even all the others.
I think starting with python is a good idea, it is simple, is an OOP and also a Functional programming. With a lot of initial disappointments and plenty patience anybody can learn, just have plenty of DATA. Some people have made it seem as if learning programming is only for the biggest brains which isn't so. Make it a point to learn something each day and if you find any challenge drop the system for some time and do something else. Youtube and Google are good learning friends here.
My small start! 3D animation self no be small thing oooo!! See in this tech career no where is easy!! Nothing good comes easy man!! You just have to be serious, dedicated, focus and be consistence. |

qtguru: Awesome, just know how to self learn and research, the Nigerian in us want others to teach us than to teach ourselves and consistency is a major key too. Some people play software engineer until they meet real problems. Learn to read and expect hard work and study and you will get better. Read about the 10000 hour Mastery resources too.
Most NL peeps in my opinion don't want to do the hard work. They want the benefits , those who are succeeding will know the amount of resources they had to go through. You nailed it bro!! When you reach a certain stage in your journey as a programmer you will say to yourself why am I putting myself into this unnecessary wahaala. |

LUAN1: For couple of days I have been visiting laptop shops to get a uk/us used laptop for myself, due to insufficient fund/little budget, I have visited so many shops trying to see if I could get a laptop within my budget with this spec. 8gb ram SSD storage At least 5th gen At least core i5. I would say Getting a laptop as a newbie is very difficult, especially someone like me that so much like perfection. Because of that I have been disturbing Sheriman , Qinglong , NONNYG , DrLevi , and others whenever I'm in the laptop shop. So today, I finally saw a system that is within within my budget, 130k with the following spec. Dell latitude E5450 6th gen Core i5 8gb ram 500gb Hdd storage. Omor, when I was about to do transfer to the man , I said let me just go through the laptop once more. We put the ON, I noticed that it too a very long time for the laptop to reboot. After rebooting I also noticed that the keyboard was not responding well ( that is: when you press a key, it would take some minutes for what you press to display or sometimes it won't display at all) I was convinced to take the laptop that there is no problem, I still insist that there is a problem before the seller noticed it also. I was told that the system need to be drive and format, or windows issue. Please Is Dell latitude e5450 a good laptop? And if the system is drive abi format, would it be okay. I Was asked to come back tomorrow and pick the laptop. Please help a poor newbie That one na red flag don't buy such laptop again. I have a guy here who sell better laptop but na Lagos for computer Village. |

I have use both HDD and SSD before so I know what I'm saying. If you ever use SSD laptop, keyboard light with Core i5 above you will regret why you use HDD laptop with Core i3. Technology too is evolving before you download any of the PC Application you want to use check their system requirements to know the kind of laptop you should prepare for or else na frustration and regretting you dey find for yourself. That is why I suggest a person should have enough patience to buy a good laptop that can get the job done perfectly. |
