The competition nowadays in tech is not smiling! However, Tech is always envolving and equally demanding. Must be proficient in MongoDB Must be proficient in Dagger Must be proficient in dependency injection Must know how to use Git and Git hub version control time line Must be proficient in Hilt Must be proficient in Dealth Must be proficient in Jetpack Compose Must be proficient in SQL Must know how to write App test. Must be proficient in coroutines. Deep Knowledge of Data structures and Algorithm Must know how to use MVVM, MVM, AWS, cloud, kafka, apache. Must know how to write clean and readable code Must know how to debugg Must have 6 years experience of writing codes Our stacks are Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Node JS and ready to learn new technologies. Abegi how can you do all these in Nigeria without getting frusrated and lose focus in your Andriod development journey despite all what we are facing daily such as poor power, expensive data, family pressure and expectations, societal expectations, expensive gadget, lack of capital, noisy environment, hungry amongst others. As a developer in Nigeria, let think about all these first. Thank you |

saint01909: If you love programming but struggle with it, it's important to not get discouraged. Here are some steps you can take to improve your skills and continue pursuing your passion:
Practice regularly: The more you practice, the better you will become. Set aside time each day or week to work on programming challenges and projects.
Seek out guidance and support: Join online forums or communities where you can ask for help and advice from more experienced programmers. Consider finding a mentor or taking a course or class to learn from an expert.
Focus on the basics: Don't get overwhelmed by trying to tackle advanced concepts right away. Instead, focus on mastering the fundamentals of programming, such as algorithms and data structures.
Keep learning and exploring: Technology and programming languages are constantly changing and evolving. Stay up to date by reading blogs, attending conferences, and experimenting with new tools and techniques.
Persevere and be patient: Programming can be frustrating at times, but it's important to keep pushing through and not give up. With dedication and persistence, you can improve your skills and achieve your goals. Well, i believe all these but there should be some resources to have in order to keep you going on this tech journey or else frustration may come in. You need steady light You need data You need money to boy some learning materials You need food. Can't be coding with hungry stomach How do you handle family pressure You need consistency and patience. E no easy oooo!! |
Programming › Re: Lack of funds can really be demotivating when self learning to code by Sheriman(m): 10:44am On Dec 10, 2022 |
Tallesty1: This is one of the things nobody will tell you. Starting anything that will bring in money requires money, maybe not huge but you sure do need money. I started learning programming during the most difficult time in my life as an adult, and nobody told me it was this expensive. So far, I have been able to get an office in Maitama but 2k tfare everyday is not easy. The advantage there is that I have access to stable electricity, the place is virtually noiseless and I am sharing the space with two senior men so I get most tutorial videos free of charge. All I need do is ask but still it is not easy.
To give it the required time and attention means you won't be able to have another side hustle so how will foot your bill? Footing your bill is the most challenging part of it. It difficult. Tech in Nigeria is difficult. Go to Twitter and see how people are complaining about their tech journey. I think those who enjoy this tech are children coming from middleclass or rich family. E no easy ooo |

truthsayer009: Sorry bro, the Android platform is difficult & so time consuming. I would have suggested you pick up something else like Frontend, HTML, CSS & ReactJs. It is more straightforward & your life is far easier. I had a friend who had similar issue, he simply picked up frontend & he was able to do well & now working with a payments company. We also have Flutter Cross Platform now which is a saving grace for everybody doing Mobile, i just picked up Flutter & i am enjoying it. Thanks brother!! Native Andriod development want to kill me with a lot of frameworks to learn |

truthsayer009: Can I ask you some questions.
- What platform, language or framework were you learning before you quit after 2 years? - Did you have any support from a mentor during that period - since you moved out of tech, what do you do now? Native Andriod development. I learnt Kotlin. No mentor at all I moved to trading cryptocurrency though i have been doing it before going into programming i just want to add another hustle but after 2 years of grinding i realised it will be difficult for me to keep it going. |

Meanwhile I'm withdrawing my support for Morocco in their next match against Portugal since they regard themselves as Arab people and not Africans
Though the player has apologised after failing to mention Africa during his interview but it's too late They are just forcing themselves to be Arabs. Arabs too no recognise dem as Arabs despite speaking the same Arabic |
Programming › Re: Does Every Software Engineer/ Programmer Go Through That Phase, When They Think by Sheriman(m): 7:42am On Dec 08, 2022 |
Reason why i left the profession after 2 years of doing it. It is highly demanding, broad, complex, learning everyday like say tommorow no dey, keeping uptodate on latest technology. I feel i can't survive here, I would not be comfortable doing this for years. Another problem is that look at our country atmosphere we are battling with a lot that hinders your carreer as a professioner programmer like poor electricity, expensive data, family pressure and expectation, noisy environment among others. Tech is hard already doing it in Nigeria make it harder. |
