Those working on the site are contractors and workers. They cannot possess the land documents. The officials should know better to reach the person who owns the land to get those information.

The Lt. was acting on instructions and command from a superior, I don’t blame him. He can’t take orders from Wike.

What I find not cool are his men not obeying his own command when he asked them to stand down. He had to keep screaming “Ajuwaya” repeatedly but some of his men were still charging at the “unruly” police men.

We don’t really know who gave the command. The Lt. only said he was acting on orders and he at that point cannot take any orders aside from his superiors. Wike is not his superior, thus he can’t take direct orders from him.

Wike should have acted with more decorum by leaving the site and serving a proper notice or court orders to the owner of the property and let the law take its course. Wike has no right or power to demolish any property (Femi Falana made such revelations that only a court can order demolition of property, not even a president or governor can), all these demolitions going on by virtue of the law are illegal.

Dangote Refinery is 650k bpd capacity and it cost him $25bn adjusted for inflation to complete. Here a 350k bpd refinery in Ondo state is costing twice the amount Dangote’s own situated in Lagos cost and you think it’s not shady?
