Are you confusing the word "oldest" with "first"? MadPolitician: Don't come at me with that rubbish about being too young, i might already be in secondary school when you were born. You guys like to rewrite history shamelessly. I don't know why you all like to be registered as the first in everything, even if you are not the first.
I laid off because i presumed that the op was trying to use the fact that WEMA was resurrected after it collapsed several times, to burnish the point that the bank is the "oldest indigenous" bank still existing.
Otherwise i would have liked you to talk about The African Continental Bank formed by Nnamdi Azikiwe. ACB was doing well, untill it was intentionally destroyed by the military administrators. Was WEMA formed before ACB? |

We need more of this.
We have so-called Omoluabis & other Nigerians who have never heard of Western Nigeria Finance Corporation (WNFC) established in 1958. WNFC was responsible for the creation of several notable businesses, including Epe Plywood, Premier Hotels, and the Western Nigeria Development Corporation (WNDC). These ventures contributed to the growth of the region's economy and provided employment opportunities for its residents.
Western Nigeria Development Corporation (WNDC): A holding company that oversaw various subsidiaries and investments. Leith Ross Limited: A textile manufacturing company. Western Nigeria Printing Corporation: A printing and publishing company. Western Nigeria Transport Company: A transportation company. Western Nigeria Flour Mills: A flour milling company. Western Nigeria Investment Company: A holding company for various investments.
These companies played a significant role in the economic development of the Western Region of Nigeria and contributed to the region's industrialization. Odua Investments is a continuation of WNFC. It was created to manage the assets that WNFC had accumulated over the years, and it has continued to play a significant role in the Nigerian economy.
The equivalent of WNFC (Western Nigeria Finance Corporation) in Eastern Nigeria was the Eastern Nigeria Development Corporation (ENDC). Established in 1956, ENDC played a similar role in promoting economic development and investment in the Eastern Region.
Just like WNFC, ENDC was involved in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. It established companies and supported projects aimed at diversifying the region's economy and improving the livelihoods of its people.
In Northern Nigeria was the Northern Nigerian Development Corporation (NNDC). Established in 1956, NNDC played a similar role in promoting economic development and investment in the Northern Region.
Just like its counterparts in the West and East, NNDC was involved in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. It established companies and supported projects aimed at diversifying the region's economy and improving the livelihoods of its people. |

Hmmm. Any attempt to abolish state of origin in Nigeria must be brutally resisted. If Ondo man commits crime, identify him as such and same with Abia or Gombe man or woman.
In Africa, stupid wokeness must be resisted. When my brother brings shame to my community and we alienate him, it serves as deterrent to others. If you are not alienated due to crime, do not agitate for abolition of state of origin. Be proud of your roots and your identity, and strive daily to make your root proud! |

If Edo people foolishly allows APC to hijack their state, then sorry for them. Any Party can win Edo, but let it not be Apc for crying out loud.
With the suffering the evil terrorist APC have subdued Nigerians to, them winning a state like a Edo of all states is a big slap to all Edo people.
Why will APC even have one vote in any election conducted with all their evil agendas and atrocities they've committed? God! There's no hope in sight? Texas is huge with big cities. Be specific. Texas is almost as big as Nigeria. Too much of what philosophers call fallacy of generalization (hasty generalization) in your posts. Some of the richest Americans live in Texas. Also, you may do well to read up on the history, people, economy, weather & demography of Texas. It may help you understand the attraction with Texas. APOPTOSIS: I agree with you. But there are amazing Nigerian women too. In Fact, I have encountered some good Nigerian women too White Ladies and Latino cherish Nigerian men are lot but Nigerian men have this mentality of going back home. I believe one should prioritize Happiness first over any other thing on this planet. Meanwhile, Texas is alarming because it has got one of the highest congregations of Nigerians in the United States, probably because it's cheaper to reside there. |

Arrant nonsense! APOPTOSIS: She nailed it. Same story, Same people Always! Of all the states, Avoid Texas if you want your marriage to work in the USA, even the Police will warn you to avoid Texas. Texas Nigerian women will make your wife feel like you guys are not doing fine. Meanwhile Texas is not a flamboyantly Rich state in America, yet we no go hear word.
Most marriage related deaths occur in Texas. Atlanta is doing tutorials in the hands of Texas. Even Pastors have barred some of these women from Holy communion. It's easier to sleep with women of every category in the United States as a Jobless man and get paid than sleep with same women in Nigeria as an employed man.
It's in the US, you will see a woman completely divorce her husband to end up a sidechic to another married man for years. |

Because Igbo names are there watch how they’ll flood this thread like bees. The other day in Ilorin my regiment team in NDLEA bursted a crystal meth ring, guess who were involved? All Yorubas but to my greatest shock the news didn’t make any headlines because no Igbo person was involved. When it comes to statistics most drug kingpins in Nigeria comes from the Southwest they government knows about it, the only difference between them with the Igbos is that they don’t have the guts to traffic and they use Igbos because Igbo people love ❤️ money 💰. I say this because I am an informant for NDLEA |

That's the point. Many Nigerians with good heart, including many from abroad, have been left frustrated by the system which includes the people. Business environment in Nigeria is very harsh, to say the least. sulaak: You just laid out the problem in Nigeria: it is not the school business but the government's failure to generate the relevant tax to cushion the effect on business owners.
To build a business in Nigeria, you must be your government ( providing healthcare, security, water, electricity etc.) with funds that could have been diverted to increase workers' pay.
The school owners create jobs and survive in an unproductive and underdeveloped environment. |

I didn't get the full details, is it just one teacher involved in this case? Berankis: Irrespective of all these facilities, you will find out that it's still all useless without an efficient Teacher. Workers should be paid reasonable wages. A class of may be 20 Students paying N297,000/term is N5,940,000/term and their teacher is paid just 165,000 for the term, if it's 3months is just too paltry about 2.7%. |

He made good points, in my opinion. His points created a conversation and others are adding more insight with better points. For those who have run real businesses, electricity cost alone is a major headache and killer. Employers should be more open in showing their employees the financial reports. Also, the capital for the business did not drop from the moon. Many business owners have huge loans to pay back and the interest rate is no joke. olaniyilukman: bro, you don't have a point at all and you sound like you are one the school owner that exploits your employees and you are enjoying all these simply because we have a weak labor law... |
