They blame FG because their economic policies are making things hard for manufacturers and farmers.

FamilyRe: Nigeria Among Countries With Highest Divorce Rate - Divorce.com by Shikena(m): 10:42am On Aug 29, 2024
Just like Maldives, Nigeria was ranked eleventh among the countries with the highest divorce rate because its women are financially independent and can sustain themselves without husbands.
When we said this is mostly poverty alleviation program with cultural background to it, many go begin vex. Now we have heard from even non-Nigerians.

Financial dependence is a huge factor in marriages and it's mostly about the woman, but many mumu men no understand. You owe yourself a clear understanding of what you get into, not just fall yakata dey fool yourself say na love grin .

In that case you might as well put on your wig and gown and show up in court as amicus curiae. The judges will gladly enlighten you better on how the process works,

I have provided you what is relevant at this point, those with the training, real experience & judicial responsibility will decide. Any other position is hot air and empty online grandstanding with large room for goalpost shifting. I can't control what you find acceptable or not and quite frankly you are inconsequential on this, and me too. The court will decide, simple grin

Kobojunkieee:
Here's the thing... next time, try to cut past all of the crud yourself so I don't have to do it for me abeg! undecided

Second, I believe I was clear enough! I asked you a direct question, "What law exactly depicts the carrying of the flag of a foreign nation as a crime of terrorism abi na treason you call am?" Don't read back the OP to me. Show me you actually know your law(and maybe your rights). Be specific! undecided
PoliticsRe: Court Permits Police To Remand 124 EndBadGovernance Protesters For 60 Days by Shikena(m): 2:11pm On Aug 28, 2024
Law is not 1+1=2. the law is not solely guided by the constitution and acts of the national assembly. While these are significant sources of law, they are not the only ones.

Here are some other important sources of law:

Regulations: Rules created by administrative agencies to implement statutes.
Common Law: Laws developed through court decisions over time, based on precedent.
Treaties: Agreements between nations.
Customary Law: Laws that have developed over time through common practice.

In many legal systems, the constitution establishes a framework for the government and outlines fundamental rights and freedoms. However, the specific laws that govern daily life are often derived from these other sources, which can be interpreted and applied in ways that may not be explicitly stated in the constitution or national assembly acts.

We also have laws for specific purposes such at the ones establishing National Intelligence Agency (NIA) for external threats, State Security Services & equivalents for internal threats. These instruments come into play when certain acts are committed.

From the post, "They were alleged to have committed acts of terrorism, treason, and treasonable felonies, including arson and terrorism.

The police said the offense was contrary to Sections 2(1) and (3), 24 and 26 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022; Sections 41 and 42 of the Criminal Code Act; Sections 410, 411, and 412 of the Penal Code Act; and Section 4 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act CAP M17 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and other enabling statutes.

The court will have to decide.

Kobojunkie:
But there is no law against carrying a Russian flag during a protest. And no, you cannot and should not be arrested for a crime that is not established in an Act by the National Assembly or the National Constitution. undecided
PoliticsRe: Court Permits Police To Remand 124 EndBadGovernance Protesters For 60 Days by Shikena(m): 8:18am On Aug 28, 2024
You have not done a good job of presenting a sound argument. Emotions don't win primary school debates, not to talk of legal issues. You are better off reading and learning, it helps everyone.

stunnert:
I wonder why I even bothered replying a fool like you. You've clearly choose to remain in the dark, enjoy it. I bet you wouldn't think like this if one of your relatives were among those detained. But that's typical of a lot of Nigerians, they don't care as long as it doesn't affect them

It was also peaceful in Lagos this year, did anyone get arrested in Lagos?

PoliticsRe: Court Permits Police To Remand 124 EndBadGovernance Protesters For 60 Days by Shikena(m): 8:04am On Aug 28, 2024
Keyword: Peacefully.

Also, Tinubu did not carry the flag of Russia during a protest against Nigerian government, he can't get away with that.

You need to show a better understanding of the legal process before your opinion is seen as valid or just read and learn like most people. It does not operate like the streets or Nairaland where you resort to insults and bravado even when it's clear you have no clue what you are rambling about.

stunnert:
Stop asking questions like a dumb fvck.

When did it became a crime to protest peacefully ?
Apart from protesting, what other crimes were they charged with apart from the ones fabricated by the police. Believe the police at your own peril

How can a sane court give orders to remand someone for further 60 days just because he or she joined in the protest

When Tinubu joined in the protest at ojota during good luck Jonathan tenure, was he arrested? Was he remanded for further 60 days

People like you are the reason why evil will continue to thrive. Y'all will see the truth but choose to say otherwise
PoliticsRe: Court Permits Police To Remand 124 EndBadGovernance Protesters For 60 Days by Shikena(m): 7:37am On Aug 28, 2024
How did you arrive at this conclusion based on this news report?

What should the legal process be at this stage in this case & what should have been the position of the court?

stunnert:
The courts and all it's official have been bought by the government so this is expected
PoliticsRe: Court Permits Police To Remand 124 EndBadGovernance Protesters For 60 Days by Shikena(m): 7:28am On Aug 28, 2024
Those who lost their lives have been forgotten and those whose businesses/homes were looted or destroyed during the mayhem in the name of protest are now on their own trying to figure out a way forward.

Lead protests but let the mass followers understand the rules. The law is not suspended because you are protesting. Also, keep in mind that the legal process is not emotional but could be legally manipulated via technicalties.

Lastly, law enforcement is not equal opportunity. It's like overspeeding on highways even in America. Many people do it, few are caught.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Appoints New Directors-General For DSS, NIA by Shikena(m): 7:55pm On Aug 26, 2024
You have clearly seen the demonstration of that in the appointment of federal ministers as stipulated in the constitution. You will also see that in the appointment of ambassadors and heads of missions.

humility33:
Let me tell u something bro
The first job of any Nigerian president is to Govern the country in unity and ensure the adoption of the federal character principle in appointments and key officers.

Spread your appointment across all states by so doing you encourage every region and state to embrace your government and feel sense of belonging

U can barely achieve result in a government where you adopt nepotism. It breeds ill feelings
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Appoints New Directors-General For DSS, NIA by Shikena(m): 7:32pm On Aug 26, 2024
I will verify because I spotted two inaccuracies right away:

Zach Adedeji, under GEJ? Are you sure?
Abba Moro? When did he become Yoruba?

When you see possible factual inaccuracies then you have to question the integrity of the entire data.

franchasofficia:
Nothing to verify.

Tinubu used media lies and propaganda to deceive you guys that Jonathan appointed only Igbos into his government but take a look at the list above.

The only key positions Jonathan appointed Igbos into under his government were:

Secretary to Federal Government - Anyim Pius Anyim (Igbo)

Prisons Comptroller - Igbo

Finance Minister/Economy - Okonjo-Iweala (Delta Igbo)

Chief of Army Staff - Ihejirika (Igbo) who he later removed after Northerners claimed he was killing their people because of Boko Haram

Now compare it with Yorubas that occupied key positions under same Jonathan and judge sincerely.

Yorubas think Tinubu is doing them a favor but he will destroy Yorubas, watch and see

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Appoints New Directors-General For DSS, NIA by Shikena(m): 7:19pm On Aug 26, 2024
I don't see it as nepotism and I did not complain about Buhari's appointments. A president will put himself forward for election and will appoint people that will help him achieve his goals. As a voter, I will judge him by his result at the end of his term.

humility33:
Bro please don't justify nepotism

We all saw how we criticise buhari nepotism appointments

I expect Tinubu to do better considering the fact he rode on the presidency with the cliche the turn of the south

Let the appointments spread all south at least.

You will have to list out the other presidents' appointments, and how the Yorubas fared under them so we can arrive at informed opinion.

franchasofficia:
President Yoruba
CBN Yoruba
EFCC Yoruba
Customs Comptroller Yoruba
Minister of Finance/Economy Yoruba
Minister of Justice/Attorney General Yoruba
DSS Yoruba
Prisons Comptroller Yoruba
Chief of Army Staff Yoruba
Inspector General of Police Yoruba
FIRS Yoruba
Chief Justice of Nigeria Yoruba

Minister of Interior Yoruba
Immigration Comptroller Yoruba
