For me, personally, the reason why I pay tithe is not because the Bible commands it or not. I pay tithe just to show God that I am grateful for provision and would willingly give a part of it to show my gratitude. I know how poverty dealt with me in the past and how God intervened to make me swim in the abundance I have now. So for someone like me, tithing is an act of gratitude to God and no propaganda can make me stop paying tithe.

My conviction is beyond what is written in the scriptures or what pastors preach

There is so much controversy about payment of tithes because some pastors chose to preach tithe by instilling fear and telling congregants "the Bible commands it". They failed to approach and teach tithing from a place of deep love for God and willingness to give. Nobody should be compelled to pay tithe. Rather, pastors should focus on genuinely winning the hearts of congregants to have genuine love for God and they wont have to compel, force, preach, harass or guilt-trip them into paying tithes.

Payment of tithe should come from a place of deep love for God and not because a pastor said the Bible commands it.

I think a lot of people will give money to God for the love and appreciation but the gospel of non tithe payers being armed robber is false.
A lot give tithe based on fear that they will not prosper and are sinners. Giving in the new covenant is not from a place of force or threat. It should come from a place of willingness and God is not a trade by batter God.

Let me be very candid, I never believed that Ukraine can be this powerful at Initial stage of the war. Even though I supported them, I was still doubting their ability to withstand Russia because I believe all the Russia hyped I read online that Russia have this , Russia have that, they're this and they're that, little did I know that all that was just a mere lies and propaganda done by Putin's puppet.

Thank you all for this thread. Mother of 2 kids under 6 here. We have registered with a GP but council is yet to verify me. How do I go about this? When can I register them for school? Thinking of bringing the little one back in September. Also what is the fate of a child with speech delay? Is there free therapy or is the therapy expensive?

Also for Council verification, I registered into an application called Yoti as I saw that it aids quick verification process but my Nigeria address is being rejected. Don’t know what to do.

You don't need to wait for council for the kids to start School. Once the kids are registered with a GP and you have atleast another proof of address i.e. tenant agreement, energy bills, you can use those two documents in a school application for your kids. Anyway that's how it works in England and may be slightly different from Scotland.

It's a shame our leaders would rather have us suffer and squeeze our pocket over a matter that doesn't concern them. Petrol will easily go over £2 per L at this rate.

At the end of the day Russia Ukraine matter is just a border skirmish like Pakistan V India, N Korea V S Korea, Nigeria V Cameroon but because the USA and ally have a vested interest in this particular one, everyone must suffer.

Nah Russia did not start it. The west (Europe and US) started it when they pulled a coup to oust a democratically elected President Yanukovich and installed a pro-USA Presient puppet Poroshenko who tolerated the idea of terminating the lease of Crimea to Russia. Russia actually gave control of Crimea to Ukraine in the 1800s (Story for another day) and Putin had to act by annexing Crimea as a day will come when NATO forces could occupy it whilst cornering Russia at her doorstep. Imagine Russia occupying Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland. Russia did not just send troops to occupy Crimea.

The USA will not allow this. Ukraine joining NATO will see the deployment of US fleet to the black sea which is a very geopolitically and economically sea to Russia. It's the only direct shipping route to to the Mediterranean which also gives access to mainland Europe. I don't think any major nuclear/economic/superpower/whatever power country can ever allow itself to be contained and cornered. Ordinary Russia boats that sails 50 miles away from UK shores is seen as aggressive, the media don't let us listen about it, not to talk of having stationed submarine, aircraft carriers, fighter jets right at your border.

Putin have been crying out to the West for a long time, they have allowed Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia to join NATO. They have installed missile defence in Romania, another country that's separated from Russia by sea. What else does the west wants.
