TV/Movies › Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Gets OSCARS Membership Invitation by sholay2011(op): 8:41pm On Jun 25, 2018 |
For ardent movie lovers, this is big and great news. Omotola Jalade, alongside international film persons (actors, directors, casting directors, cinematographers etc.) have been invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts & Sciences (AMPAS), more popularly known as the Oscars. Omotola was invited alongside other international actors like Daniel Kaluuya of "Get Out", Chloe Moretz of "Kick Ass" etc. Of course, she still needs to officially accept their membership invite officially but that goes without saying because this is a huge step not just for her but Nollywood as a whole. She gets to be sent screeners of movies in awards contention every year end and vote for nominees and eventual winners as well. Congrats Omotola! https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/new-academy-members-2018-revealed-1123069?utm_source=twitter |

It migjt be similar to the one I stated definitely but I doubt it will be the same. |

Katier00: I was about going for my weekly shopping and something just came to my mind, is there any rule that state we must cook rice for launch on Sundays? 90% of households in Nigeria eat rice very Sunday. I just decided to cook yam and egg sauce tomorrow to see if something unusual will happen |

Tokziby: Irony of life... She's all smiles now, I bet when the mother died she cried profusely.
No matter all the i love u of this world no loved one will follow u to the grave. The people that help u wiped dirt away from ur cloth are the same that will bury u with it. And if they mistakenly dream about u, they'll be calling for pastor and Alfa to pray not to ever see u in their dreams again. Moral of the story u came alone to this world and u'll die alone. Live ur life the way that pleases u and God, no body really cares when u are gone, cos life goes on dead or alive. Word. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Video: Special Message To Our Muslim Brothers& Sisters Of Black Origin Worldwide by sholay2011(m): 11:24pm On Jun 20, 2018 |
true2god: No big deal. Our holy prophet (peace be upon me) and his sahabas had black slaves and many sexx slaves. Owing black slaves is part of the sunnah of our holy prophet (peace be upon me) as we read in sahih Muslim, sahih Bukhari, Ibn Ishaq and the history of Islam by al-tabari.
Insha Allah, I will get my own black slaves before I go to aljanah. Allahh Akbar! Is this meant to be sarcasm or...? |
TV/Movies › Re: Which Is The Scariest Horror Movie You Have Watched? by sholay2011(m): 6:54pm On Jun 20, 2018 |
okwabayi: Meh. Ever since I grew up horror movies don't scare me so much. As a child though me and my siblings were nearly traumatized from The Exorcist. We loved the scared feeling it gave us and kept watching it on repeat marathons till we got used to it. I found Evil Dead and The Amityville series more entertaining than scary.
As an adult the only movie which made me check over my shoulder was Insidious. I had to watch it on a large TV screen in a dark room with all forms of light off. I recommend the latest Horror film titled HEREDITARY. You are welcome. |

Christianity Etc › Re: What Is Miracle Money? Is It Biblical? by sholay2011(m): 9:54pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
What the hell is "miracle money" (except you are talking those involved in rituals)? God can miraculously provide for His children, and that includes money, but naira or dollar bills will not just "appear" from nowhere in your pocket. I mean, what number will be on such note, noting that these notes have carefully been printed by CBN for circulation. God can use a person, or even make you find notes you lost or forgot somewhere but our God is not a magician but a miracle worker.
Now, the example of Jesus picking a coin from the mouth of a fish somehow favours the monetary system as at then. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Isn't The Currently Trending HR Outsourcing System A Subtle Mode Of Slavery? by sholay2011(m): 9:43pm On Jun 06, 2018 |
Hakeem12: Exactly. I tell people over and over. The future belongs to the competent, those who are very good at what they do. Please stop all these nonsense quotes. Many competent people have been rendered useless by the naija system already. Or what is your definition of "competent" in the Nigerian landscape: doing eye service and ass-licking while overdoing or eating into the responsibilities of your colleagues at work? Competence may not be the strong point of the average Nigerian employee but to mask this modern-slavery system called outsourcing with the toga of "the future belongs to the competent" is a shame on what humanity has become. Or do you own an outsourcing firm?? |

EgunMogaji: Don’t mind some of them.
If you go in as a contractor and prove yourself then you may get picked up.
As an employer, why would I waste resources to board and then have to fire an employee that didn’t work out. What kind of selfish mentality is this? How many people will "prove themselves to get picked up" when the system as a whole treats the average person as a modern-day slave? Are you really serious? |
